The staff is wonderful and can be considered a friend. Considering the stress and depressing nature of convalescence, they are always cheerful and encouraging towards the residents. The facility lacks modern amenities but makes it up with staff personalities. Quite frankly, I was turned off, when I first entered the establishment. After I saw how they managed daily care, I understood the difficulties of covalent care and give them applause for doing the thankless work that nobody else will do. Bravo!!!

When your loved one is in a facility, you place your trust in the care of others and pray they'll be in the best hands possible. My mother wasn't the easiest person to care for, but this staff showed so much patience and care throughout her time here. They are very responsive and consistently nurtured the seniors here like it was their own relative. The dining caters to individual needs and is quite delicious. The team does a wonderful job on day time activities, walks them in the beautifully remodeled courtyard, showers them in a timely manner, and clothes them with fresh smelling laundry. The PT staff are just so wonderful - the entire team with their smiling faces are so welcoming. I need to recognize the heart and soul of the OCH, the head nurse - Grace. I've actually known Grace prior to my mom arriving at the OCH and her professionalism, honesty, unbelievable responsiveness (she actually called me from Asia on vacation) and warmth are beyond words. My heart can't thank her enough for everything she's done. The OCH is so blessed to have her. The energy and strength behind OCH comes from Esther Kwun. She will ALWAYS pick up her phone and go out of her way to help. Her humor, smile, and lovable personality are indispensable qualities that represent the OCH with such professionalism. I will miss her so much. A big thanks to Noel, who handles the finances. He is just a joy to talk to and I'm thrilled he's physically recovered so well. Claire and her partner, who does a marvelous job with social services never make mistakes. Their attention to detail in taking care of all the patients there keep things so organized. My mother, who was blind, just adored hearing Claire's lovely voice. Dalila, who my mom said was the best CNA there deserves a shout out. Thank you, Anna and others who gave her the best showers. Thank you Ernesto for the pleasantries every time we see each other. To the new guy, Joseph, who seems to be another wonderful addition there. And of course, Station 1, with Deborah, Marissa, Victoria - you all are just FABULOUS! .... and to my ever reliable, Hailu, who I will dearly miss. They have a Nurse Practitioner who happens to be completely indifferent and definitely not someone you would want in charge of your wellbeing. Rude and incompetent come to mind but it's beyond that. Also, this clinic will not help you filing for Workers Comp and furthermore, the Dept of Labor will not accept a medical diagnosis from a nurse practitioner anyway, so going to this place is a complete waste of your time and not in your best interest. The Post Office might take you here BUT as an injured employee you have the right to go see any doctor you wish to see at a clinic of your choice. If you have Kaiser Insurance like many of you do, just go directly to their Urgent Care Center and see a Medical Doctor there and have 'a thorough examination' . If you have PPO insurance, you can practically go anywhere you want to and get reimbursed later. You can also file your own CA1 on Ecomp.com -it's easy and efficient. There is also a place in Torrance called, Renewth Strength Medical Group, where they do all the paperwork for you and have a caring staff and a licensed Medical Doctor available. Getting hurt while on the job is very stressful and you need to be in the best possible hands to make this awful situation as easy as you can, and that involves choosing the right provider.

Essentially they go in to see their patients with their mind made up of how the appointment will go despite the concerns/conditions of their patients.

The woman came back on the phone suddenly saying the don't take my insurance, even thought their website states they do and the person I previously spoke with said they do. When I brought this up she then said they're at capacity for Anthem insurance holders. She sounded unsure and like she just wanted to get me off the phone. Based off this wildly unprofessional interaction, I would not trust them for my child's care. Look elsewhere.

In general, you get assigned to a different therapist after every other appointment or so. That way you get slightly different approaches and instructions, which might confuse you a bit initially but ultimately gives you a choice on how to do your exercises while at home or at the gym. The therapists I was assigned to most frequently were Danielle, Justin, and Jason. All of them are helpful and compassionate, with a good sense of humor. Jason is especially knowledgeable and attentive. After you put your keys, phone, etc. in a little basket, and after you wash your hands, you do your exercises while enjoying a view of the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory, or a photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger, for extra motivation. During, and even after, your set of therapy sessions, the staff is happy to answer any questions you may have about how to continue exercising on your own. Everyone at Genesis Rehab Therapy is determined to make you feel better by addressing your therapy needs with great care. I highly recommend you put your trust in this team of skilled therapists.
