My parents are from SEMO and started eating here back in the 1950s. Although I grew up in St. Louis, we always ate lunch here when visiting family, downing our sandwiches at the counter that's been replaced by booths. After I had kids, we started bringing them in when visiting family. When my son moved to Texas for school, he jokingly requested that we stop at Wib's and bring him a sandwich when we visited. We pulled in when they opened, ordered 20 sandwiches, and packed them in a cooler for the drive down. We had one very surprised and happy student! Would we love Wib's as much if we had it every day? Maybe not, but we love eating here when we're in town. Two hot outsides for my partner, two extra hot combinations for me, and a fries to share. Mmmm. Enjoy it if you live there! We'll be back next time we're in town.

Awesome local BBQ joint... Unique toasted BBQ sandwiches... Add homemade pimento cheese for a great tasting combo. Long-time owners are family friends. People from long distances away make sure they stop off I55 for a Wibs (fix) when possible! :)

We love this place. We are from Indiana but every time we come back to Jackson our son has to get two outside combo extra hot.

An absolute staple of Jackson, MO. Go in and get you a combination (or 3) and a Fitz and you will not be disappointed.

We have been going here for years. Its tradition to eat a bbq every time we come to town for a visit.

Wib's food is excellent and the prices are sensible. At Wib's, the food and service is worth the cost.

Avoid stopping here, bcuz their prices r to expensive. Their sandwiches r high. If u want the real barbeque go to a real barbeque joint

The BBQ is unique & wonderful. The fries are the best ever. The sweet tea is great, too. A long-time Jackson hot spot. Great service, too.

Great combinations, I've never had a better BBQ sandwich. Wibs is my favorite restaurant, but they're not open Sunday's and Monday's.

Rushed to order, even as we stated it as our first time. Forks on all the tables are inside of little silverware condoms (and wet inside these plastic sheaves to boot). Food delivered by a woman wearing a drive through headset (why is there a drive thru?) who essentially grunted our order back to us and walked away after setting it down. Oh yeah, don't forget the hair stuck to the ketchup bottle, but hey, TVs with ball sports abound, so as long as you enjoy MO sports, you'll be comfy. The food was hit and miss. When I say miss, I mean baked beans that tasted like I was spooning brown sugar and molasses directly into my mouth. Way too sweet. When I say miss I mean iceberg lettuce with big ass croutons and an unidentifiable blend of shredded cheese mountain on top. But when I say hit... Wow the ribs were on point. The smoke flavor was incredible, I'm gonna need to shower to get it out of my beard! When I say hit I mean pulled pork that was easily smoked overnight that wasn't full of un-rendered fat pieces. The meat came fairly dry, I assume so that one may make use of Dexter's four signature sauces like local (Southeastern Missouri) vinegar based BBQ sauce. Bottom line, this might be the best restaurant in Jackson MO. It's defiantly not the best if you include "Cape Gerrrarrdiuuuu." These guys have been "smoking butts and taking names" since 1983, but they really should just stick to the meat.

It had a hard, tacky consistency on the outside that gave a resemblance of a crust. That was almost chewy. The sides amd sauce are the only redeeming factors. This is sad. I came for bbq. Not sides. I had originally wanted the ribs. However to my dismay, they were serving BABY BACK RIBS instead of the original ribs for which they are known for. This was and currently is, as I struggle to chew this floor mat of a pork steak, a complete and utter waste of my time. But I paid $17 for this. So I'm going to eat it. This time. There will not be another.

Well, sugar, let me tell you about my little stop at Tractors Classic American Grill in Jackson,…read moreMissouri. I had high hopes for this place! I ordered the cranberry apple salad with grilled chicken, thinking I'd get just a little something light. It was supposed to be a half order, but honey, it sure didn't look like half--either they were being generous or someone missed the memo. The price, however, sure wasn't light--over sixteen dollars for a salad that didn't exactly sparkle. To be fair, the salad itself wasn't bad. The grilled chicken was seasoned nicely, and those little pops of cranberry added a nice sweetness. But the apple slices were tired, bless their heart--soft and browning like they'd been sittin' out at the church potluck a little too long. What really left a sour taste, though, wasn't the fruit--it was the service. When I politely asked the young man at the counter about the price, he snapped, "It's gone up," and just walked away. No "I'm sorry," no smile, not even a nod. That kind of rudeness don't sit well with me. So here's the bottom line: Tractors has potential, and that salad could've been a winner with fresh ingredients and a little Southern hospitality. But no matter how good the food is, if the service leaves you feeling unwelcome, it's hard to come back.
