I would have never known about Who's on First if my son's Little League coach hadn't taken the team there for practice. We're a new baseball family, so this was a great find! They have a variety of batting cages with different pitch speeds, so you can choose one based on what works best for you. They offer both baseball and softball cages, plus a real-time pitching cage where a companion can pitch directly to you. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, answering any questions we've had. We bring our own equipment, but I believe they have bats available to borrow if needed. Just don't forget your helmet and batting gloves! Cage rentals are available for 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes, and the pricing seems pretty standard. My son loves coming here to practice his swing, and I've noticed he warms up better before games when he's had extra batting practice here. Definitely a great spot for extra reps! read more

There's a staff member there who is extremely unfriendly, tall, Mexican guy with earrings on his phone before I got there and even after he was rude . They use. timers to set 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 60-minute sessions. However, they have multiple machines at different intervals, allowing people to hit but, he want break it up. As I have lived in Oxnard 39 years and have always been allowed to do that here since the owners in the 90s.He wanted me to spend more by purchasing separate 5- or 10-minute sessions, but his attitude was rude and unprofessional. Small little place, but that's not a bad thing at all. I went last week with a buddy and we were able to step in right away and use the cage for about 30 minutes. Maybe it was the time of day or due to it being right before the 4th of July, but there was definitely time to stay longer if we wanted. I just forgot how much of a workout the batting cages can be. Decent prices, but if you're military with an ID, it's $5/person for the whole time, so that's a huge plus. read more

I called to make a reservation for my 2 boys and was asked what speed I needed. I had never been to these cages before and didn't know what was available. I let him know I'm familiar with a Juggs machine that has adjustable speeds. He didn't divulge much more and said he made my reservation. Upon arrival I was told he put them in a softball cage even though I shared with him my players' info (baseball and ages of kids). He proceeded to argue with me and tell me it was my fault, yet provided no customer service to advise on what cage would be the best fit over the phone. He was able to work them in some speed appropriate cages so the situation was fixed, however the cage my younger son was in had another family booked so he got out of there before his time was complete. I was then told by the employee that I should have fought for my time and that's on me that I didn't make my child stay in there even though someone else had a reservation. Wow, I didn't realize that that was how this place worked. Poor customer service, blaming the customer, and clearly no interest in helping anyone. read more

This place is a shit-hole!! The machines are garbage! We took our entire softball team here and the machine was malfunctioning so much. It had plenty of balls but wasn't grabbing them. The arm was pitching but no balls were coming out. We wasted so much time going to tell worker and then him going to back to attempt to fix! We've been going here for years and never had so many problems till this year! Ernie has always been very nice and helpful so this review is in no way towards him. The only reason this place has survived is that this is the only batting cage in Oxnard, and there is only one more batting cage this side of Ventura County. This place is dirty, run down, you can always expect the pitching machine to run out of balls while you are in the cage taking a few swings and the staff seem to hate life and make you feel like you are burdening them to help you. Last time I went (a few days ago) I took my 7 year old nephew to take a few swings after his game. I rented the cage for 15 minutes. The guy that rented the cage out was rude and when I paid for the cage he pretty much threw my card and a pen at me to sign the CC transaction. The post that has the button to turn on the machine was destroyed, and the button was hanging on for dear life, dangling on top of the post. Again, everything was filthy inside of the cage and there were sections of the turf that were cut out of the batter's box. I figured this will only be a quick 15 so my nephew and I will just deal with it. We were 5 minutes into batting when the rude guy behind the counter waddles up to me and asked if my nephew was wearing cleats. My nephew was wearing plastic cleats and he yelled at me that no cleats were allowed. I would have apologized to him if the cages were clean and properly maintained. Or if he would have been nicer to let me know about no cleats allowed rule. But this place looks like the batting cage of the apocalypse, and the guy yelling at me looks fresh off the boat from the Island of Dr. Moreau. Plus, I doubt that a 7 year old wearing plastic cleats would generate enough force to wear out the already worn out turf. It is probably the same turf I stood on as a kid. I'm surprised the cages stil doesn't have the ghetto plastic orange safety fencing it had years ago. At least the crazy old man that worked (and I'm pretty sure slept) at the cages back then was a lot nicer than this guy. I wish someone would open up another batting cage so that this place could finally go away after all these horrendous years. read more

Located just off the 101 in a business park, Look whos on first batting cages are easy to get to. Its nothing fancy, nit it sure is fun. We did 15 minutes for $18 and trust me if you are not swinging a bat on a regular basis, that is more than enough for 2 people. They have a selection of bats to choose from or you can always bring your own. The cages are beat up but it didnt bother me. The machines are old, but they do the trick. We chose slow pitch softball and I was able to hit the ball 95% of the time. I also like that after every 10 pitches it stops and allows you to switch batters. My arms are killing me today, but I love a good workout ache. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Placement of pitches and consistency save this place. Not too crowded. Have beams in the middle if the cage, pretty distracting. Bit expensive compared to other cages. -3 stars because customer service and the place was messy i.e. trash, machines not up. Go to camarillo batting cages for a better deal and better service. read more

If your kid cannot hit in the 60 don't complain about the pole because thats not the reason. The reason they can't hit it is because your kid sucks, and should probably go back inside and play video games instead of wasting the electricity bill. read more

I absolutely love this place! The batting cages are clean and well-maintained and the service is fantastic. Since they have slow pitch and fast pitch cages my whole family can practice at the same time. Ernie, the gentleman working at the front is extremely friendly and very helpful. When we first went I was completely unfamiliar with how batting cages work. He made my kids and I feel very welcomed and was extremely helpful and encouraging. read more

I go here often with my brother.. who goes all the time! Its clean, the boy at the front is nice and is quick to fix any problems that the machines seem have.... We go usually right after it opens and we can get a good 45 mins worth of hitting in before people start showing up and everybody feels awkward standing there waiting for you to finish... read more

I really can't say too many negatives about this place. Its got everything you need for a batting cage. Not a token machine place as you pay for an allotted period of time. While the machine is paid, it's essentially reserved for you for that small window of time. read more

Good price, friendly staff! This is where we take our 8U player to work on those batting skills. Love that they are able to do reservations.

Really good I go there three times every two weeks and pretty cool except when they fake you out and don't have a ball in the machine
