I liked her casual conversation - not too forced and genuinely interested - and she kept me aware of what she was thinking since I was doing something relatively dramatic to my hair. Tips- One down fall was that parking was tricky, so I suggest you park right in the back where Max Fish is to avoid getting caught in the square. Also- bring a cash tip with you...they do not tact the extra amount on a credit card. They were nice and let me come back to drop it off at a later date.

I first reached out via their Yelp page to inquire about an appointment. They were super responsive even during the days they were closed. Upon walking in, I was greeted immediately and after completing the new client forms, I was offered a refreshment. I went with red wine and was so surprised at this kindness. My hairstylist was Lindsay and she was AWESOME. She asked me questions and double checked with me on everything she was doing. I ended up going for a drastic cut and she made me feel very reassured about my choice. You get a discount too for it being your first time! Already looking forward to going back for my next trim.

I was very lucky to find Melissa via a referral from a co-worker. Word of mouth is fantastic like…read morethat. Me (see my co-worker looking FABU-lous): Who. Cuts. Your. Hair?! My coworker: I went to Melissa in Manchester... Me: That's in my neck of the woods. Give me her contact info. Like...NOW. Well, it went down something like that. I'm trying to catch the enthusiasm and absolutely heart stopping need to get my hair done by whoever crafted what was on my co-worker's head. A phone call or two later, I had an appointment with Melissa. She's very accommodating and knows her stuff. Within a week, I was sitting in her chair and she was doing my hair cut using a technique I've never seen. She seems so casual, chats you up, and all the while she's eyeballing your head and hair 360 degrees. She cuts the hair wet. Then dries it and recuts its. Then she walks around your chair, checking out your hair and will go back in many times to do little tweaks and touch ups. Talk about good with details! You can tell she's been doing this for a long time because if your stylist has such a laid-back attitude while you're in the chair, you're either with an idiot or you're with someone who REALLY KNOWS what they're doing. Melissa definitely hit this cut out of the park. She was able to give me a really nice cut, she took a lot of hair out, gave it a shape, and it still has some length. I really like it. I felt before my hair was blah, which she pointed out what was going wrong with it, and how she would rectify it. And she went above rectifying...she gave me...Beautiful Hair. She is also very much into education. She will give you a ton of styling tips while you sit in the chair and after. She is adamant that if you have any questions, she's just a phone call away. So, to wrap this up, great little studio space, awesome stylist, and great hairstyle. Done. Done. Done. Get your butt over there. You won't regret it even if you have to drive a bit.
