If you want to change your life, reclaim your health, and make some amazing friends along the way,…read morethis is the gym for you. I first came to CrossFit Regeneration in April 2017 when I was at my heaviest and in the worst shape of my life. I have never before been a fit or athletic person. I had tried many other types of fitness classes, but nothing ever stuck. I decided to make a change and take on the challenge of CrossFit. Now I love CrossFit and I think it is a fun and functional way to stay in shape. But that is not what makes this gym special. What makes this gym special are the owners, Charlie and Kari Sims, who truly care from the bottom of their hearts about the health of every individual who walks through their doors. They have staffed their facility with knowledgeable coaches who take the time to ensure that everyone is educated on how to perform exercises safely and properly. They meet each member where they are and help them to modify any workout to suit any fitness level. They offer nutrition challenges to further educate their members on how to live healthier lives. And they support you all along the way. The Sims also have never met a stranger. They have made it a priority to cultivate community in their gym that you can't find just anywhere. That is the reason I have kept coming back. You can put exercise equipment in any building and have a gym for people to come to. But what makes people come back is other people that care. That is what you will find here. A village of people to support you in your journey to make yourself better, while we all strive for the same thing ourselves. This gym has changed my life forever, not just because of CrossFit, but because of the devotion the staff has to its members and the community that is fostered in this gym. If you are intimidated by the thought of going to any gym, come to our gym. If the word "CrossFit" strikes fear into your heart, come to our gym. If you are in the worst shape of your life, come to our gym. If you've never even done one freakin push-up, come to our gym. If you are ready to put in work and change your life, come to our gym. I have improved my physical health, mental health, and gained a second family by coming here, and I want the same for anyone reading this. I can't speak highly enough of this place and the people here.

I bought mine through Amazon but you can buy it at their studio, which seemed a bit more expensive but not sure how the quality compares. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and even did some practice rounds with me before the class started. It can be a little confusing at first as each type of punch is labeled as a number they yelled out, but the instructor always walks around to keep everyone on track. This is definitely much more of a challenging workout if that's what you're looking for! In addition to the punching bag, there is a lot of floor/core work that had my torso throbbing the next day! I also had blisters on my knuckles, but that's to be expected :) This is a fun type of workout to get a change from your standard gym visit. I promise you won't leave without breaking a sweat!

They offer the option to come in and try a free class, and that was what I did. Their staff were very friendly, answered all of my questions, and were available via text. After trying the first class, I signed up right then - I had such a great time! Hortworx is a facility that offers infrared sauna workouts - yoga, pilates, cycling, rowing.... a LOT of options, so it doesn't feel redundant. The saunas can fit up to 3 people, but after coming in regularly I've noticed that most people prefer to book during an empty time, so you will almost always have it to yourself (and I LOVE that!) To be honest, if it ever got to a point where I had to share a sauna with 2 other people it probably wouldn't be enjoyable, but it doesn't seem like they are ever that crowded. The saunas have TVs that show recorded workouts for you do follow on your own. It varies by workout, but each session is offered every 30-45 minutes and is open to members 24 hours a day. There are staffed hours, but when the staff is not there, you are given a door code to let yourself in. Another thing I love... the independence. I feel like I can come in at my own time and don't ever feel like anyone is hovering over me. There is also a small gym section where you can use weights and other equipment. The sauna workouts are very enjoyable. This was my first time trying 'hot' workouts, so I was a bit nervous at first but I adapted quickly. Not only do I feel like I'm getting a good workout, but the saunas have helped detox my body and make me feel amazing after each session. Pricing was another huge factor that lured me in. For $60 a month, I feel like having an unlimited variety of workouts is TOTALLY worth it. You do have to purchase their bamboo mat, but again, I still felt like it was worth it and it is a very nice quality. There is also a premium membership, $70 a month, where you can visit any location and have a 'virtual personal trainer' on their app. I'm really happy with Hortworx and can't wait to keep working out here.

After my class I filled out the survey that was emailed to me which gave me the option to attend a second class for free. After my second class I was hooked and signed up. Shred 415 has multiple class pack options to purchase. The entire facility is very clean and the provide quality equipment to use in class. The bathroom has everything you would need to prep yourself after class.... showers, towels, hairdryer, dry shampoo, hair spray. I enjoy that the class is in a cool temperature controlled studio. I've never been disappointed with the music playlist chosen for a class. I always catch myself singing along or pushing myself harder because of the beat. Shred 415 offers one hour classes that are divided into intervals, alternating between treadmill drills and strength training. Most classes are the standard four 15 minute intervals. I like that some instructors switch it up and do six 10 minute intervals or 2 fifteen minutes, 2 ten minutes, and 2 five minute intervals. I like to rotate between starting on the treadmill or on the floor. I try to attend a class 3-4 times per week. Shred 415 uses the MindBody app to sign up for classes. Each day they list multiple times with the instructor and the type of class (total body, arms & abs, butt & legs). I prefer to work out in the morning and they offer multiple class times for me to pick from. Some class times even offer childcare during the class, and it's clearly marked on the MindBody app. My first class I made it very clear that I WILL NOT be running on the treadmills ... the owner and instructor assured me that the treadmill intervals will be at my own pace. Approaching the end of my first two months and I'm occasionally running on the treadmill while in class. I love the entire staff at Shred 415. When I walk in the front door the staff knows my name and checks me in. The instructors give name shout outs to encourage during class.... and sometimes hearing my name gives me that extra push that I needed! The owner, Kathleen, very friendly and present. She quickly responded to my emails and made signing up a breeze! Thank you to Kathleen and the entire staff for making my morning work outs great! Come give Shred 415 a chance!

The staff is super cool, the facility is very clean, the treadmills are the best I have ever been on and the work out will kick your butt. I love group fitness. There is something so motivating about pushing through tough work outs with a group of people with similar goals. You can start on the treadmill or start on the floor. I have done both now and I prefer starting on the treadmill. I love running so having an instructor push me to 8% incline with speed is a fantastic feeling. Don't be intimidated though- you can walk if you want. The floor work that I did was total body. It is as challenging as you make it. There is a bench, mat, dumbbells and bands. You will go through 15 minutes of strength training and then rotate again to the treadmill and then back to the floor. In an hour you get your total body strength and cardio done. They even have childcare onsite! For you busy parents out there- Shred 415 makes it easy to work out.

The trainer will walk you through the exercises at the beginning of each class and then they'll turn up high energy playlists for warm ups and the workouts. The trainers will take the time to help you with the exercises if you're struggling and suggest modifications to the workouts if you need them. The classes have made me much more comfortable with incorporating weights into my workouts. The only downside is that facility does not have a shower and the last classes during the week begin at 5:30 pm.
