Then pick them up from the sidewalk. Virtual classes are offered as well so you could paint with friends and relatives all over the country if you wanted. Some classes are being taught outside under a gazebo too. I booked my class a few months out as I am still healing from a shoulder injury and thought I'd be good by July. But I managed to get another injury in the meantime. So I did my best and Bethany made the afternoon fun and was very helpful with how to hold the paintbrush to get the paint stroke desired. They have wine and beer available and you can shop around and enjoy the beautiful retail space while you wait for your class to start. The kitchen space was intimate yet clean and inviting. I love that their cooking class sizes are small and you work together in small teams, as it's fun to build connections with new people. They have everything ready to go and organized and you even get the recipes sent to you. There were multiple members of the staff on site during my class and the service from then was phenomenal from the instruction, to ensuring i always had wine and water, to cleaning up throughout our cooking. We dined in the beautiful sunroom space and they provided lattes and coffee with dessert. It's worth the price for this lovely experience.

We had to wait almost 20 mins before we could get started, and I didn't think that was a good decision for those of us who showed up on time. They included champagne in the tiniest cup. Luckily, we don't drink, so it didn't matter so much. They also gave us a tiny box of V-Day candy. It was a sweet gesture. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. They should put something in place that if people are late, they will need to reschedule, get a credit for future use, or forfeit their money. We shouldn't have to wait over 20 mins to get started. I recommend them. Just be sure to bring your own drinks and snacks/food.

I first heard about this studio from a parent of another kiddo in one of my daughter's track out…read morecamps. My interest was instantly piqued because I had been searching for art opportunities that didn't seem so basic for my young artist. Every other option (except one that pushed for full day when I wanted a half day opportunity) I had found offered for her age group before KidzArt had "cute themes" and was basically just drawing or painting on paper, nothing seemed special or specialized for that matter - I couldn't even find a class that offered basic sculpture with clay for my kindergarten kid! When I saw the course/camp offerings here, I was actually excited that this might be something that would work for my kid! There are TONS of different options for camps (both during the summer and for track out) for ages starting at 6 - the Town of Cary classes that seemed like they may draw in my child weren't available until she is 8 years old (the ones offered for her age group just seemed too basic for her abilities). I was thrilled to see that just after the studio opened and on my kiddo's track out there was an illustration and cartooning camp offered - perfect! So far, she has created a lot of great art: some in a sort of "wine an design" but for kids (without wine of course) style following the instruction of the teacher, and some free art of her own cartooning and illustration. There are many materials for the kids to experiment with here and an opportunity for free art time too. The owner and instructors are very knowledgeable about art and also work very well with the children of varying ages - they seem to genuinely care about the kids and get to know them. We also signed up for some classes here outside of the track out camp she is taking. The variety is great and my kiddo seems to find inspiration from the lessons as well as from the other kids in the class. I really wanted an opportunity for her to experiment with more materials and to learn some techniques she could apply to her own art - this studio provides exactly that! She's already learned some strategies with watercolor and shadow that have popped up in her other work (just like how after reading a specific book she will mimic the art style in her new art), and has requested time to work with clay which she hasn't ever really had a desire to do until now. She is really enjoying her experience at camp and definitely seems to be inspired by it! The studio itself is clean, open, and bright. The materials are well maintained, and it is overall a great place for young artists to grow! I'm excited to find more classes to continue to inspire my kiddo - she is also very excited to check out other themes here too!

Escape On Purpose is tucked towards the back of a shopping center but it's definitely a hidden gem. You're given an hour to "escape" a room by using clues that are found within the room. A couple of coworkers and I scheduled a room for 8:30. Since I have a tendency of going to bed early, I was concerned about getting sleepy. I was wrong. During the entire duration, I was wide awake trying to "escape" the room. We chose Terror in the Sky, which was not easy. Looking at the fixtures, you can tell that the owners spent a lot of work on the room. I will definitely try to come back again!

Our game host, Attic, was kind and enthusiastic, which helped make the experience enjoyable. The facility itself was clean and well kept, and the waiting room had a lot of fun games to play before starting. The only thing to keep in mind is the booking/payment system for smaller groups. I came with one other person, but the online reservation system requires payment for a minimum of three people. Since there were only two of us, we still had to pay for a third person upfront, and the difference was given back as a coupon code for a future visit rather than as an actual refund. While I appreciate that they offer a credit, it did feel a little confusing and less straightforward than simply charging a higher two-person rate or clearly listing the minimum charge upfront. Overall, we had a good experience, but I do think the pricing/booking system could be made more transparent.
