Had a great time watching the Special Olympics Basketball tournament today. The college students who volunteered were very friendly, helpful, and supportive of the Olypians.

My best friend is a student here so I decided to visit the campus for brunch. It was fabulous! There is ample parking on the weekends and an amazing spread at the cafeteria. The campus is beautiful and small, making it easier to find classrooms, or to have a leisurely stroll. That's all fine and nice, but let me tell you about the brunch buffet! It's an all you can eat brunch buffet for $10. Where can you find that in Los Angeles? They have a make-your-own omelet and waffle station!!! They even have lunch during this time which changes day to day. I had four plates of food and four different drinks!!! Haha

Love this school! Great customer service and school spirit. The staff is always ready to help. Small class sizes, excellent professors and a beautiful, clean campus. This is a hidden gem in LA county in SoCal.

Although you're bound to get stuck with Dr. Awkward every so often (who will surly point out that this is also palindrome...) My 4 years at Whittier College were four of my best. I'll spare you the standard details that admission counselors can rattle off in their sleep and feed you with some highlights from the 2000-2004 season... The study abroad hook up. Oh, what's that? You want to go on Semester at Sea? For free? hmm...sounds great - we'll just apply your scholarship. Anne Kiley. Ahhh true gem. The Outback Bookhouse. Oh yes. They touted their "new library" for 2 years before I attended, but it wasn't complete until my senior year. Alas, most of my library time was either spent in the old cheese grater, or the outback, i.e. the library trailer. And I say this in the most endearing tone. Harris B6. The dorm room of dorm rooms. The 2003-2004 girls soccer team - perhaps the only winning soccer team that field has ever seen...(the secret was all of the late night trips to Ralph's for Papov...) Those amazing blizzard creations from the spot...the name is escaping me, but dang they were good! Thanks meal plan! Fake fraternity parties. Every year, a new society would get kicked out and a new one would emerge, boasting trashier and more disgusting parties than the last. Pure comedy. Erotic City and Mona Kai. For a Quaker School, you sure know how to party. Speaking of which, the Hilton parties never failed to entertain! Your food during any stretch of time that parents/visiting students were around. Umm, ice sculptures and shell fish? Fine by me. Better than the easy mac I'd cook in Harris B6's microfridge...maybe. And finally? The POET. The most fearsome mascot of all time. These are only a few of the MANY reasons that I miss you.

This is an outstanding place to receive a college eduction, I particularly enjoyed some of the one on one time with my mentor who has a PhD in Economics from Caltech. My experiences both on and off campus were very influential in the career path I followed. Five Stars

As mentioned from my photo posted, it's not much to look at in terms of aesthetics. The building in itself is only 2 floors & it looks like it's built in the 1970's because it appears it has that original yellow green paint from that era. But in all honesty, what matters is what is being offered. It's a small class of only 6 students (could accommodate up to 10) in a small classroom. Nicole, our instructor is a Respiratory Therapist by trade & is confident & knowledgeable in her teaching the class. No muss no fuss. Its STRESS FREE---entirely the reason I opted to elect this place instead of taking it at my job site. It is not economically sound but I value my comfort over anxiety if I am to do recertification every 2 years! We were shown videos/instructions in addition to her teaching & the CPR dummies are provided for demonstration & we paired up to demonstrate skills. It was performed at ease & it is what I appreciated. Most importantly, Nicole made herself available for questions & clarifications with the post test--thank goodness. Once again, easy-peasy lemon squeezey, loved this portion! Will definitely return & recommend this site. *****CAUTION****** **NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE** I had to take the stairs with my bum knee (LOL). Hey it was okay, I just took my time. Used to take it in Long Beach (991 Medical) for convenience & closer to home but in comparison this place, Elite ROCKS! Really glad & very satisfied I tried it here. Will retrieve my cards by the end of the day via email. So far the (high) price paid is looking like it's worth it ($240 combo ACLS/BLS).

I understand that this career path is challenging, especially when it comes to terminology and anatomy. However, from the very first day, there was very little encouragement from the instructor teaching the course. There was also a noticeable lack of structure. We weren't given guidance on how to study or how to format our notes--everything was something we had to figure out on our own. I understand we're adults, but it still would have been helpful to receive some formal direction or tips for successful studying. I also would've preferred if classes were held every day instead of only two days a week. With the program lasting only about four months, students are forced to cram a lot of information into a short amount of time. Spreading the material out more evenly and offering more frequent classes would make a big difference. Toward the end of the course, I noticed the instructors seemed to lose interest in the students. It honestly felt like they didn't care whether we passed or failed. Another major issue is the internship. They tell you that you will have one, but that's misleading. Only the best students are able to get placed at PIH, while others are either told to wait or to find their own internship. Overall, I think the program has potential but needs major improvement in structure, support, and honesty with students.
