She was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful, and she also worked with us on the price. When we came back, the owner, Nick Robertson, personally took the time to tell us more about the lamp, including its approximate age, the unsigned shade, and the Art Nouveau spelter base. What really impressed us was that he was willing to write his assessment directly on the original receipt, sign it, and confirm that, as far as he could tell, the shade and base were original to each other. This lamp was especially meaningful to us because I chose it as a gift for my wife to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. She was so happy to receive it. We wanted to find something with history and character--something we could enjoy in our home now and hopefully pass down through our family one day. This beautiful lamp felt perfect for that. We also purchased a 1909 ten-volume Guy de Maupassant book set, which made our visit even more memorable. We truly appreciated the time, knowledge, patience, and personal attention we received from everyone at Robertson's Antiques. For us, this was more than just buying an antique. We came home with a beautiful piece of history, a special anniversary memory, and something we hope will stay in our family for generations. This place is by far my favorite antique store in the Bay Area, as its 21,000+ sq ft of floor space and two floors are occupied by over 100 different merchants selling everything from modern art and jewelry to old toys and abundant knickknacks. The only issue with this place is the parking situation, which can be a bit of a hassle, especially on weekends. Fortunately, it's a bit removed from the more popular Cannery Row area and on the opposite side of the Aquarium, so while it may be difficult, it's not impossible. Otherwise, come forth and feast your eyes on the treasures to behold. Just make sure you give yourself at least two hours to take it all in, or you're going to miss out on some interesting finds.

I spotted a comfortable pair of pajamas for my toddler but they did not have his size. The lady even checked the back stock and made pleasant conversation w me, never pushing the sale. That was so nice of her. I asked her to call me when her next shipment came in and she was true to her word and DID! Do u know how many stores I ask please call when so and so comes in and they never follow up. This owner was so nice and followed up and was able to ship the pjs to me. Scheid wasn't open yet so to bide time I popped into Eco. So glad I did. What a delightful shop. So welcoming. A wonderful mix of "green living and natural health" items. Merchandise is displayed beautifully. I always appreciate it when things are not too crowded. Kristi, the owner, was very helpful without being pushy on what to purchase. I was short on time ... we were eager for lunch. I returned after lunch and this time was greeted by another clerk. I believe her name was Melissa? Said she was originally a customer and was now so happy to working at Eco. I made no major purchases. Just some stocking stuffers (shop year round for those), greeting cards, and scarves. Open year round, this is a must stop for anyone visiting the city. They have a huge selection of ornaments including nutcrackers, Christmas tree lights, stockings and decorations. I saw tons of things I wanted to buy; so many amazing choices!! I went and bought a framed Nutcracker ornament and I can't wait to display it on my tree this year! The only thing about this store is that the prices are a little bit on the high end but it is an enjoyable place to visit with really good customer service too!
