I have tried a few groomers in Rohnert Park and Cotati and Whitney is by far the best. I have two small dogs both can be nervous around a groomer or a vet. As to be expected when we walked in neither one of my dogs wanted to go. My pomeranian mix pup normally gets muzzled in these situations at the request of the groomer or vet. Well, not with Whitney. She took the time out to make them both feel comfortable and walk to the back willingly with her. When I picked them up a couple hours later both my dogs were best friends with her. We have gone back a second time and I couldn't believe it, they remembered her! I felt so comfortable I was able to book out my next 4-5 visits for them. We are so happy we have found Whitney her love for dogs truly shines through.

    I love Whitney's Dog Spa

This is Lemonhere...I a fire survivor and my mom passed away. I very scared and timid cause I been through lots. My new mom want to take me to da groomer and we was both scared. Someone told mom about Whitney's. So we went there. Right away mom say she get a good feeling. I was scared and shaky cause it was another new place. Whitney took lots of time talking to mom about me and askin lots of questions. That made me feel better. Whitney said hi to me and give me lots of pets too so I didn't feel like she was stranger. Whitney so sweet to me. After mom left she sit down with me and let me go to her when I ready. Mom was so nervous leaving me but Whitney make her feel better. Then I got my bath and all clean. Whitney turned the dryer thing on really low, just for a second and I get really scared. She dry me with a towel and let me dry rest of the way on my own. Mom came back to pick me up and I loves Whitney so much I following her around and didn't even notice mom until she say my name. I feel so pretty too. That made mom so happy she said I get to go back and see Whitney again and I can't wait.

Cinder is ready to show off her gorgeous coat after a grooming at Whitney's Dog Spa.

Whitney does a fantastic job and is always on time. I suggest setting multiple appointments though, she books up really fast.

I dropped in Saturday (?) morning and was asked did I have an appointment. I said "no, but the website said walk ins are welcome". Immediately the lady behind the counter responded, "No it doesn't." Full stop. I said ok, and walked out. Now I may have been thinking of another website and gotten them mixed up because when I was looking for places to get my dogs nails trimmed I looked at several different sites. But as someone who has been in customer service for many many years this is not how I would have handled this interaction. I would have said something like hmmmm, I wonder if maybe you're thinking of another grooming salon? Or even, perhaps you've got us mixed up with someone else's site? Unfortunately we do require appointments, I'm sorry. See that's called positive constructive interaction with your customer or your potential customer. This woman seemed to have no interpersonal skills I could ascertain in the short amount of time we interacted. I don't know what kind of day she was having but the experience turned me off of this salon which is really too bad because it's really close to my home and I have two large dogs and a husky that I would love to have brought here for nail trims and grooming but this kind of abrupt flat out denial of my mistaken belief they accepted walk-ins was really off putting. This was Saturday morning and she was an older lady light hair, Caucasian. I hope she's not the owner because one would think that an owner would be better with public interaction. It's okay to correct your customer but it should be done gently so as to not alienate them.

So she got a bit more matted than usual. She refuses to let me brush her. So Cyndi recommended a lion cut to get her in good shape. Kiki is a very long haired cat. Full disclosure, I was a little nervous...it was the first time Kiki ever did something like that. Kiki looks SOOO cute and the lion cut is pure perfection. Thank you Cyndi!

He had a proper groom in early June, except his ears were not plucked of excess hair as normal (a poodle thing). However, his last visit 2 weeks ago, after his vet had cleared him post surgery, was anything but excellent. When I picked him up, his face was not his usual poodle cut face which had always been the case, but I thought maybe there was a miscommunication. He looked clean and had his usual cute bandana and I stupidly assumed all was done well, though her looked more like a doodle. I had stressed he recently had surgery and I told them so. I really was shocked that when I mentioned that his scar was quite long, the person checking him out said she had not noticed. He has a scar from his sternum to his penis and he was fully shaved in that area. Impossible to miss. When I got home since his face really looked untouched I decided to check his ears and they had not plucked them as requested and his rear end had not received the sani treatment. They must also be using a different shampoo as he did not smell as clean and fresh as he has in the past. I was going to call Bark and Bath and say something about it, but I did not feel comfortable with them any more to fix the situation. I decided to go online to see if groomers had changed, as Sierra would have brought him out to say goodbye, especially this time as I had told mentioned that I was getting Jake groomed there for the last time as I was moving out of the area. When the website popped up, Sierra and her sister's photos are on the home page. However, when I clicked on the groomer link they are no longer listed. Two new groomers and three bathers listed. Thank god I did not throw in a tip on top of the $165 I paid for a full bath and grooming, as he didn't look fantastic like he has in the past. Really pissed off that I paid full poodle price for shoddy work. I was staying in the area, I would never go back to Bark and Bath!!! I am taking him to a different RP groomer for a clean up groom this week so that he is actually ready for travel. He also needs an oatmeal treatment, as he has been excessively itchy since the crappy groom session. I was hoping for a real pampered groom session after his having to live the post surgery cone of shame for over 2 weeks. Instead the poor guy needs to go in to be cleaned up already. Note: when I made his new appoint elsewhere, they said I was not the first to come to them in the past few weeks and they asked if the groomer had been Bark and Bath and I said yes. Can no longer recommend Bark and Bath as a reputable groomer in Rohnert Park.

She fit us in quickly because my black lab has surgery coming up this Wednesday, which I really appreciated. What truly sets her apart, though, is the care and understanding she shows for each dog. My fox red lab is extremely nervous around people. She usually barks, cowers, and takes a long time to warm up. Cathy generously offered for me to bring her in just to spend time in the space with her, her husband, and their dogs, purely to help her feel more comfortable. The moment we arrived, I could tell this place was special. The space is beautiful and clearly designed with dogs in mind, and Cathy herself is just lovely. Almost immediately, my nervous pup, who usually barks at everyone, was calmly approaching her, sniffing her hand, and even taking treats without making a sound. I was honestly amazed. I left feeling completely at ease, knowing both of my dogs were in the best possible hands. Cathy kept me updated throughout the entire visit, not only about my black lab's groom, but also about my other pup who wasn't even there for a groom. She simply took the time to help her build comfort and trust for future visits, which is something you just don't see often. When I came back, my black lab looked perfect, and both dogs were happy, relaxed, and honestly didn't want to leave. That says everything. People like Cathy are truly special. This is absolutely our place from now on.

She did a great job and you can just tell she works well with animals. So appreciate this service!read more
