We went to do my son's senior picture session with a local photographer. The session was in mid December and the scenery was just breathtaking! It was the perfect setting, close to home. Trail goes in a loop and most of it is paved. Easy to walk or push a stroller. There's also a playground for kids. When I was there, three photo shoots were happening. No surprise. The park looks great for pictures with the bridges and water behind you. Parking is the only problem. Small lot, and the park sits inside a neighborhood. Drive slow when looking for a spot. Good place to relax, walk, or take photos. I'll come back again.

We opted for the $35 wristband, which was well worth it, he got to go on several different rides and hit the big slide multiple times.They had plenty of carnival games, vendors and food trucks. When it came time to grab a bite, my son picked Bubble Hive food truck. He got a waffle cone with vanilla ice cream and chocolate that was so big that we all ended up sharing it. Since it was Mother's Day, the beer garden and live music were a nice touch. They were serving mimosas, so my husband and I both grabbed one, since I was in the mood for something refreshing instead of beer. It was starting to get pretty hot out, so we only stayed for a couple of hours, but it was a fun outing and my son had a great time.

There's lots of high climbing areas, so it could be dangerous for children that aren't very coordinated yet. The park is largely unshaded, so you definitely feel the heat on warmer days. There are restrooms on site. Overall, cute theme and lots of benches for relaxing along the perimeter.

It is just a beautiful little park. Small enough to be intimate, and right next to the train tracks which makes for FUN and a super setting for photos. Spring and Fall the colors are amazing, but in summer, the roses ABOUND. I recommend taking a little walk through this old area, and just taking in its splendor.

The location of the park is exactly where the 1867 Rocklin Roundhouse was located when the transcontinental railroad was being constructed eastward into the Sierra. The park layout recreates the layout of the original roundhouse which included 25 engine stalls and a turntable. The rose garden is planted between railroad rails that have been placed to mimic where the steam engine stalls were once located. What happened to the original roundhouse? Well, early Rocklin suffered from numerous fires (one of the reasons that there are so few buildings left from the 1800's). The roundhouse burned down in 1869, was rebuilt, burned down again in 1873 destroying 10 steam engines. It was then used until about 1908 when operations were moved to Roseville. Within just a few years the roundhouse had become an eyesore and the city required the railroad to demolish it. A portion of the original granite rock wall from the roundhouse is still visible around the western side of the park. This park is just a portion of what will eventually become Rocklin's Heritage Park which will extend across Rocklin Road down Front Street. It will include the fully restored and historic St. Mary's Chapel as well as a recreation of the original 1900 fire house (currently under construction). If you are wondering where downtown Rocklin is located, this was the original heart of the city in the 1800's. It's nice to see that the history of this town is being honored with the construction of this park.

Wide, paved, then gravel driveway for water agency. Skirts huge snd wild McCormick park. Very quiet, woodsy below you, but sunny trail. So, great in winter or late evening summer hike. Many bike trails into the woods. Main Park walking path is easy .5 mile loop around the retention pond. Cell service is 100% lol... Kids play area, Pavillion, and BBQ. many tables and benches.

We saw a couple…read moreskulking out of the lot in their car as we returned from our hike... they looked out of place and I'm pretty sure it was the people who had just pulled in that scared them off. We got lucky that nothing was taken, just a bummer to have to replace a window after doing something wholesome like taking our dog to a nature reserve. Otherwise this place is lovely. The trails are well maintained, the bike lanes are in good shape and clearly marked, and the reserve is clean. I love to take the long way around across the high levee because there is a little creek that runs by and it's just so pleasant to listen to as you walk.

We had a field trip there for about 20 students. They started the gear up process late which meant…read morewe got started late. On top of that they were only running 1 of 3 zip lines. About half of the students got to use the zipline before it broke and had to be shut down. They were understaffed for our trip, which meant that students were not able to do the events that we paid for b/c nobody was there to work them. The 2 girls working the ropes course clearly didn't like kids. They were rude and condescending and seemed like they just didn't want to be there. We had one 5th grade girl who was stuck b/c she was too short and the guide shrugged and completely ignored her leaving her stranded and crying. The "hard" route on the ropes course ends with a rappel. It requires kids to detach from the safety line and attach to an auto-belay. The instructions at the belay state "get permission from staff before rappelling." There were no staff anywhere around to get permission from. Students had forgotten the instruction 1.5 hours earlier and were attempting to attach the belay to NON-LOAD BEARING parts of their harness (e.g. the D-ring). This belay is 40-50' up and falling would absolutely be fatal. I decided to stay there and ensure that each student was hooked up correctly before stepping off. Bookmark this review because this place will get someone killed. Despite us starting late, the zipline breaking, and most of the activities being unstaffed, the girl in charge (Sky) shut down the activities at 1:45 into our 2 hour session. I let the lady in charge know about our experience but never heard back from their manager. We're considering disputing the charges since it was a far cry from the experience we were promised. We understand there are risks associated with ropes courses, but their negligence is going to get someone killed.

The only things in this park is they Don't have restroom. There is water fountain by the basketball court. The parking is street parking. Just be careful when walkout of the car with kids since people drive pretty fast in this area. One thing when walking around I notice lots of dog poops everywhere. Just watch where u step.

They have a small kiddie playground and a small picnic area , two clean public bathrooms, and small parking lot. It's pleasant, but I would not come out of way to visit here again . It's really mostly for the surrounding homes to enjoy . It took a total of less then two minutes to circle the park. We did sneak a walk in the gated neighborhood next to the park. Very beautiful homes here !
