    2017 - ??

Huge park near downtown Lincoln that has lots to offer. Basketball, tennis baseball and so much more. Gazebo, vast expanses of lawn, freedom memorial area, and I could go on and on. Shady areas with trees and so much opportunity to play ball. A child's or overgrown child's dream. Memorial area for lots of navy people who gave their lives for our country. My friend zeroed in while paying respect and noticed plaque where the person was born in 2017 with no date of death. I couldn't really make sense of it. Early evening the park was buzzing with happy people filling the park and getting their practice in. Very nice scene. The park overall was under utilized. I would have thought it to be more popular on a warm evening on a weekend. If you live nearby possibly in a newer build home with little yard space you might really appreciate this area. I tend to love lawn best when I don't have to take care of it. This fits the bill.

Great Play structure! My kids have been coming for years . The city keeps the park updated and clean . It has a tree house vibe , the wooden structure is awesome. Lots of cubbies to walk through

This park is huge !! They have a nice playground for the kids a skate park , batting cages, baseball fields ! They have the 4th of July fire works show here and other events ! I'm here a lot since my sons have baseball, practice is in baseball games! They have bathrooms by the playground and also by the baseball field ! Pretty clean for them being public bathrooms .. On game days you can purchase snacks at the snack bar ! Great park !

Real cool park.. Nice and spacious with huge lawn area and clean play structure. There's few tables but a blanket under a tree is just as nice. Restrooms here are clean and there's plenty of parking. They have a few basketball courts, and also have an indoor range (I saw a sign that says .22LR Rimfire only).

    Awesome playground

Great park and facilities. They have a july 4 fireworks show every year, that is amazing, a must see.

Looking for the basketball courts I mistakenly pulled into the side with the baseball field.

The bleachers were clean and there is a "no nuts or seeds allowed" sign near bleachers. That was nice so if there are shells on people's nuts, theres less spit out shells to clean up and be grossed at. Most people sitting on those bleachers obeyed these rules. The thing that stood out about this park was the many dog walkers and early AM walkers. I was there by 9am both days and there were more than handful walking by my car. Another thing that struck me was how clean the bathrooms are near the entrance of the park. I am from a little more south with maybe 80K more in population and our parks are not this clean. This was a sight for sore park eyes. This park is expansive, wide, nicely mowed, not many houses nearby, open fields surround a part of the park. It appears like it could be a camping resort as well. It isn't, but the way uts situated looked like it could be. Thats a good thing. If I was a kite flyer or a frisbee thrower, this park would be ideal due to the wide open spaces. Parking is decent but when you are there for games, spots are a hot commodity and so it may be more of a challenge and one may desire to come early. Very nice park. Great job Lincoln.

Reservations are required on weekends, some Fridays, and selected dates. Otherwise, Mon thru Thu are free with no reservations required. Parking available inside is limited so come early to avoid the hassle. I believe they open at 6:30 AM and closing is dependent on sundown. We hiked with our 2 little girls and dogs. Even with the little ones, we were able to make it to the Canyon View Overlook and back. In case your dog needs a bathroom break, bag it up and I recall there was at least one trash can along the path towards the Overlooks. Help keep this hiking gem clean! Scenery was gorgeous, hike was pretty easy without difficulty, and be sure to visit both Overlooks for some beautiful sights. We took the North Legacy Way, in case you're curious. Great for hiking enthusiasts, families, quality time with nature, and perfect for those that want to avoid lots of foot traffic!

I much prefer a reservation system like this because it saves on the stress and time of fighting for parking and an overcrowded park. People who rated this low are just mad because they didn't do research or come prepared. Theres plenty of trail options here but we did the main hidden falls loop trail that was on AllTrails. (Poppy Trail, N Legacy Way, then Hidden Falls Access Trail, total loop about 3.2 miles) It was a beautiful hike with tons of mushrooms everywhere right now, and hidden falls is flowing! Theres two observation decks. I kind of don't like how the deck at hidden falls is right above the falls so it blocks the falls, you have to look down over the rail/ledge, so there's no way you can get a good photo with the falls behind you
