.On June 26 I had 3 teeth extracted and the dentist filed what I called a bone spur on an area on the front bottom of my jaw where I had an extraction preformed a few weeks earlier. For this procedure she prescribed 600 mg Ibuprofen to be taken alternately with 500 mg Tylenol. I was a bit dizzy after the procedure and was experiencing some pain, which was not unexpected. What I did not expect was the extent the pain increased as the anesthetic worn off. That evening and for the next four days I experienced extreme pain, nauseous, vertigo and migraine headaches. I also experience a burning sensation in my bottom lip which abated the third day. I spent four nights attempting to rest in a recliner because every time I lay down I became nauseous and I did not think regurgitating would be beneficial to my wounds. The over the counter medicine prescribed for pain did not easy the pain at all.
I attempted to contact their office several times Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to see if something could be done to alleviate the pain only to have my calls routed to voicemail. The Voicemail box was full. By Friday I had given up trying to contact the office.
Issue two. July 19, 2023 the office made an impression for my partial. I was supposed to have the completed partial and all the follow-up visits completed by the end of August. So two weeks after the impression when the first fitting was to have been scheduled I contacted the office and was told that the partial should have been back from the lab. They would contact the lab and call me when the partial was ready. I called once a week for the next several weeks. Finally I went to the office and found out the dentist had surgery and the order for the partial had never been sent to the lab. The lady from the office said they were waiting on the Dr. to decide what type which surprise me because I paid $754.00 for a Mand-metal base w/sdls Partial. I finally had the first fitting on Sept. 7. I received the completed partial October 17, 3 days before I was leaving town. I would not have been as upset if I had not been lied to. By the way the partial I received was totally resin. No metal base. However it did fit quite well
Issue Three: I was charged and I paid $754.00 for my portion of the partial as the remainder was covered by insurance. I went in for a cleaning in October and asked if I owed anything because I was not sure how many cleanings a year my insurance covered. The young lady at the desk said the visit would be charged against an overpayment the insurance had made. I came home and pulled up the EOB for the partial and found out that my copay was $179.10. I overpaid $574.90. I asked to speak to the billing clerk and asked why I was not informed about an overpayment and was told that is standard procedure. That overpayments are credited against future bills. I requested a refund which had to be approved by the dentist and received a check for $403.90. That is $171.OO less than what I should have received but I was told that amount was applied to a procedure that had not been billed, she just couldn't tell me what procedure. Again I pulled up the EOB and every visit I had made to this office had a claim.
I sure would like to know what I paid the $171.00 for. read more
