First of all yes, that label art drew me in as I love cryptozoology but I also liked the fact that this was a Hibiscus flavored mead which was a flavor I don't recall in coming across from the handful of meadery experiences that I have had. It didn't let me down in the namesake department either as the Hibiscus flavor was in full effect. Very flavorful with that and a good honey aspect at work made me purchase a bottle of this mead to enjoy at home as well.

When a business shares your last name, you have to go to check it out. The winery is WAY off the beaten path but is definitely worth the journey. My husband and I wanted to sample some of their wares before buying, so got the sweet wine flight. All of the wines were good but I liked the peach the best. We also ordered the Margherita pizza. This was very good and from a local supplier. After taking a bunch of pictures my husband and I decided that this is a beautiful place for parties or weddings. When your name is on the business you have to buy as much merchandise with your name on it as possible. To my surprise the wine, pizza, and clothing were all much less expensive than I had anticipated. So I stocked up. There is so much to see, do, and taste. We decided after a 6 mile hike to stop by. Well had no idea you needed reservations, so when we showed up their 3:00 pm pizza and musical event was just beginning. We got lucky because they only had a few open slots, so we banned one. We also got super LUCKY because we were the first ones inside the bar area, met the owners and had a flight of tastings. Everything was beautiful, yummy, perfect! If you are looking for a place to unwind and partake in organic, wholesome beverages, pizza and other delights, than look no further. Shop local. Hang local. Embrace local. Did I mention the sculptures and art work as well as the eclectic decor and unique vibe this place possesses... well, it does! It was the worst wine I've ever tasted. I tried 4 reds and the color was unlike any red wine I've seen. It was murky and brown - totally unappetizing. The wine tasted old and very vinegary. I could barely choke it down. I searched for a dump bucket but there was none. I ate as many oyster crackers as I could, just to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I should have gotten 5 tastings with my Wine Passport but I didn't even care. I just wanted to get out of there! I would not recommend this place or their wine.

When I asked to purchase a specific bottle of wine the bartender(?) said, "Here... why don't you taste this other one first?" Then when I said that I would purchase that wine she said, "If you like red wine at all, why don't you try King of the North", and she poured that. Mind you I walked in to purchase a single bottle to consume at the campground and left with three bottles. I just thought that she was (successfully) trying to boost sales. Bottom line... The person who I spoke to was very gracious about explaining the charge and offered to refund the $6 for the tasting. If I were to return to the same winery I would ask for a detailed receipt next time. And perhaps make a stronger attempt to stay within my budget.

We didn't know what to expect, but we went for a tasting and ended up staying for lunch - and I'm so glad we did. The tasting was a minimal $7.50 per person for three wines, and they even gave us a bonus pour of a special wine that was absolutely delicious (we couldn't resist buying a bottle!). We ended up purchasing four bottles total, which earned us our tastings for free plus a 5% discount on the wine - a great deal for such quality selections. Lunch was just as impressive. The salad was fresh and crisp, the meats and cheeses on the charcuterie board were perfectly chilled and flavorful, and the sandwich was fantastic, especially paired with the delicious pasta salad that came with it. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a beautiful rustic feel that made it seem like we had been transported out of Wisconsin and into the European countryside. The entire facility was stunning, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the wine was excellent. Beautiful place, wonderful people, and great wine. We'll definitely be back to sit outside and order pizza and wine. My first impression of the property is that it is beautiful. They did a nice job with the property. The outdoor vineyard and wedding area is also quite lovely. The property was clean, restrooms clean, nice outdoor patio for dining. For the wine tasting, our hostess did a nice job explaining the various wines as we moved through the tasting menu. I didn't catch her name but she was very nice. We also briefly met Matt who was also very friendly. I felt the majority of wines were more on the sweet side, however, there were definitely several that leaned dry. I would t necessarily call any of them "full bodied". For Wisconsin wines, these were actually pretty good. The pours were generous compared to pours you may receive when tasting in Napa, Sonoma or Paso Robles so well worth the price. I would recommend stopping in and visiting Villa Belleza!

There are a few different areas to sit and hang out, plus tables spread throughout the property. It's also dog friendly, which is a big plus. The wines are solid, and it's fun to try a variety, especially some of their more unique options. The staff was really helpful in making suggestions also and knew the history of the vineyard which was cool to learn more about. The only thing I felt was missing was more food. They do have a small section where you can grab items to build your own charcuterie board, but I'd love to see a few more food options added.
