I had recently purchased a new home and had only lived in it for 30 days before their plumber's negligence caused my basement to flood. I had paid $7,000 for a sewer line replacement, and despite taking my full payment, the plumber failed to complete the job. He had left my home exposed from the outside, allowing water to pour in during a storm three weeks later. This was no accident -- it was pure negligence. When he finally returned after the flooding, he casually admitted that he had been supposed to come back three weeks earlier to lay cement over the area he worked on but failed to do so. That level of carelessness was completely unacceptable. Because of his negligence, I had to endure devastating damage. My finished basement had to be gutted -- all the drywall was ripped out, mold remediation had to take place, my engineered hardwood floors were destroyed, and I had been dealing with contractors in and out of my house. Two and a half months later, the situation was still ongoing. I still had no floors. My drywall was still missing. My home remained a disaster and unusable, and I hadn't been able to enjoy it since the nightmare began. To make matters worse, I had to miss several days of work to manage the non-ending contractors, all while enduring the overwhelming stress of the constant repairs. On top of that, a strong odor lingered in my house, making it even more difficult to live in. I was forced to stay in a hotel and with family for a while. I am a mother of a two-year-old, and the strain this placed on my family was immeasurable. What was even more appalling was the complete lack of accountability from K Harris Plumbing. Despite everything I went through, I never heard again from Kenny the plumber again after he returned after the flood to put cement on the neglected area. He put me in contact with his insurance company and that was it. This happened in February 2025. Since then there was no follow-up, no check-in to see how I was managing, and absolutely no effort to make things easier for me. Even after I reached out to the company/ Kenny the Plumber via email to explain the severity of the damage they caused and how it turned my life upside down. I was ignored. Not even a single apology or a partial refund. I deeply regret my decision to hire this company. It was devastating to invest in a new home only to have it ruined by the very people I trusted to do their job. I know gas and time cost money and people will have you running all around town to look, but most people want these issues resolved immediately. He didn't B.S us with the whole "it will be $600 to come out and take a look and another $1000 to fix it. He said "for XYZ, I charge this." I like that and was able to know that when he arrived I had his money Scott, was a breath of fresh air compared to my previous plumbing experience in the past when a plumber showed up to my house (which I was renting) after pricing up what he thought I could afford he judged me, and set a price based on what money he thought I had and as a female thought I would go for the ridiculous price. I don't doubt that plumbing is a hard job, and that plumbers should be paid well for their worth. Scott was able to make a connection with what I could afford and he could accept for his time, experience and equipment. Scott, told me up front that the price would be more because of the difference in the job (clogged toilet v/s clogged pipes). Despite the increase, Scotts prices were still more reasonable (affordable) than, friends, family and acquaintances quotes. Scott came Saturday afternoon and he brought out all the guns (camera) to get the job done. After reviewing my plumbing issues he determined that there was no blockage anymore and probably all the other stuff cleared it. He reinstalled our toilet with seal, gave us some TP (toilet paper) knowledge and charged us a lower fee than was quoted the second time, and kept it moving. Scott was knowledgeable, efficient, affordable, dependable and thorough. I would definitely call him if I have an issue with plumbing in the future.
