You only need to bring your clothes, food, & family. So clean & comfortable. It was like walking into a home away from home. All the woodwork was amazing! I truly did not want to leave. Every day, a portion was set aside where I just sat on the deck or in the jacuzzi & stared at Whiteface Mountain. The view could not be beat in my opinion....until we actually went up to the peak of Whiteface Mountain! Wow!!!! A humbling experience & even though it terrified me, my family loved it & we were blown away by it's majesty. Hiking trails are nearby & the quaint village of Wilmington is only a 3 minute drive. As is Adirondack Chocolates! We came to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of my husband's passing. When ever my husband & I traveled, one thing we did was find a chocolatier & he would spoil me! So to discover this tiny town has one where the truffles are made on site was so special for me. They so have so many unique gifts & the BEST hoodies in their gift shop Our hosts, Judi & Aseem, were simply wonderful. They called to greet us the day we arrived. I mentioned the tiny liquor store was closed, so we were unable to purchase a bottle of wine to toast my husband. They came by the next day with two bottles from their private stock & we had a lovely conversation. Simply delightful, & gracious hosts. Truly touched my heart. Highly recommend ANY of their properties. You will NOT be disappointed & won't want to leave! We will be back for sure!! Thank you for such a memorable, worry-free vacation

We were seated right away at a table in the bar area. Staff was friendly and worked fast. The dinner selection is not low-fat or vegetarian but perfect if you've just spent the days outdoors. I ordered the stuffed pork chops which would easily serve two. Great comfort food! My husband had a prime rib that he loved. The salad bar didn't offer a ton of fresh veggies but had a decent selection. The wine list wasn't great but we didn't expect it to be. Mostly grocery store types of wines. The dessert (chocolate lava cake) was big enough for two and tasted great. Not gourmet but hit the spot. This is a great place to take a hungry family after a long day of skiing. You won't go away hungry. If you want a higher-end, gourmet option, head into Lake Placid. If you're staying in Wilmington and want a good meal with friendly service, stop by the Wilderness!

We had the privilege of staying in the 100 Acres section of the campground for a few nights in July and loved everything about our stay. The campground consists of two sections; the Resort section and the 100 Acre woods section (just 50 yards down the road). The resort section is located near the office and is a nice, more open, but spacious RV camping area. The 100-acre section is a wooded campground beautifully arranged and maintained. We stayed in the 100 Acres area and were very impressed with the layout of the sites, which were staggered/angled to put the most space between each site. We felt very secluded even though there were other sites around us. Our site was level, spotlessly clean and manicured, and had good water pressure and hookups. The combination restrooms/bathrooms were clean and conveyed a sense of regular maintenance being provided to them. Customer service is top notch and the staff prides themselves on welcoming guests as family. We overheard a current employee talking to a new employee stating that even if the campsite wasn't used prior to a new guest arriving, they always do a thorough check of the site to ensure everything is perfect! This impressed us and aligned with the overall sense of pride shown at NP campground. The camp store is probably one of the best stocked stores we have visited. Additionally, they had growler fills from 3 craft beers of tap right in the camp store!! We loved our stay at North Pole Resorts, which raised the bar pretty high for other campgrounds to live up to!

What a beautiful mountain!…read more As an adult first learning to ski, I found Whiteface fairly intimidating. Just the drive in with its sweeping views of the east slope landscape is awe-inspiring. As an Olympic mountain with the greatest continuous vertical drop in the eastern US, this ski mountain has so much to offer for all levels of outdoor enthusiast. The Bear's Den area is the perfect launching point for little ones, new skiers, or those who prefer to warm up with an easy slope. If you're ready to jump in, there's a series of greens, blues, blacks, and more that can be accessed from their main lodge area by a gondola and several chairlifts to the mid and upper mountain. Even on busy days there's so many miles of trails that it keeps the crowds spread out to a degree. Can the lift lines get excessive? Sure. But if you're not picky, you can ski around (or stick to the upper mountain) and you can get a decent amount of runs in. Great mountain to level up on. In the past year I've graduated to some of their blues and finally made it to their highest lift (at 4,386 feet!) to soak in the amazing views of the surrounding Adirondacks. I've hiked many a mountain in summer this height but it was rewarding to catch a ride to the top and make my way down on skis. I appreciated the trail matrix available this year to gain a better understanding of which blues are easier and which start to verge on black so that I don't find myself in an overly uncomfortable situation before I'm mentally ready to do so. While all skiing is generally expensive, I feel you get a pretty good bang for your buck. Great facilities with a mid-mountain lodge. Fun events to watch if you catch them on a day you're already on-mountain. I caught both giant slalom and slalom this last trip. I'm clearly no expert but, I'm a fan of this location and am grateful to have the opportunity to ski here a couple times a year when in the area. I will have to hike it sometime to appreciate all that the non-winter season has to offer.

Getting to Whiteface from my hotel in Lake George was easy; parking ended up being easy since I choose to park at the Bear Den Lodge area so I ended up almost to the lodge. I picked up my lift ticket RFID ticket from the electronic dispenser with no problem; by buying online in advance I got a discount price. The lodge was nice and even had racks available for free bag storage. I do appreciate that getting to the lodge and from the lodge to the lifts without having to climb steps. Overall the logistics were great for getting onto the mountain at the Bear Den area. The biggest downside I encountered was that the lifts were delayed almost 1 hour so that the groomers could redo the mountain since there was an ice storm overnight. I do have to call out the lift operator who kept us informed and entertained during the wait; it was much appreciated. Once the lifts were running there is one lift that gets you from the Bear Den area which is the beginner's area to mid-mountain and access to the rest of the mountain. Once I got skiing, Whiteface lived up to its Iceface nickname both early in the morning and then later in the afternoon. I was glad that they had regroomed the slopes so the skiing was good for most of the day. 3mmit and Lookout Mountain. I got to ski all 3 areas and really enjoyed myself. Little Whiteface was a bit limited since they had closed a whole face and one lift for race training. The Summit of course puts you up high and provides the choice to ski quite a few different trails and you can go to mid-mountain or the full 3000+ vertical to the base area. Lookout Mountain was opened later than the other areas and then was closed again for a while for regrooming; I was a bit disappointed by this since I found the Willmington Trail to be some of the best skiing on the mountain. A great long intermediate trail with fun twists and turns and variations in the slope, I would have taken a couple more runs on this trail if I had the chance. I really enjoyed skiing Whiteface, it is the largest vertical for any Eastern ski area. The lift system works well and navigating the mountain is not too hard. Having hosted the winter Olympics there is plenty of challenge and variety. Prices are reasonable, especially if you buy your tickets online and in advance. Because Lake Placid is a bit remote the lift lines were short. As long as the weather cooperates Whiteface is a great place to ski or ride.

Please read below and see attached screen shots. SCAM!!! Book Elsewhere! Broken Jacuzzi!!! Please read till the end! Very disappointed with this property and the management office. My friends and I booked this property 6 weeks in advance. The only reason that we booked this house is for the Jacuzzi that was nonoperational. We were advised by management that Jacuzzi is broken at 7 PM of the check in date. As the check in is at 4 PM I am not sure as to why we were not notified earlier in the day. Management did advise that the owner feels bad and that they would refund $200 for our troubles. Now keep in mind that majority of the properties in the area charge $150-200 per night on average if there is a Jacuzzi tub on the property. We did send an email to management requesting for someone to come and fix it or a fair refund for broken Jacuzzi tub. Its only fair that for 3 nights of stay that we booked we are to receive $450. Well, the management came back and said that they are not responsible for any nonoperational appliances and left it at that. At that point we were very disappointed, but we decided not to let this get to us. Next day we have discovered that the freezer and fridge is not working as well. By the time we realized it was broken all the food in the fridge was starting to smell foul the items in the freezer melted. We quickly took everything outside in attempt to save our food but in the morning realized that out efforts were pointless. Everything got spoiled (all the meat, cheese, milk and other perishables). Oh, and we did reach out to management that night of discovery that the fridge was broken only to receive a snarky response:" What can we do for you today?". Management did not send anyone out to fix the fridge nor apologized for the inconvenience. Also, there is no guard rail on the staircase leading to the basement which is very dangerous. Besides the major problems that are described above, there were few other issues. There were no trash bags, the heater in the basement did not work, the lighting outside of the house did not work, multiple light bulbs when out on the day of the arrival, some blankets did not have duvet covers on them (which means that they were not clean) and in edition to all the floor in the house was not clean upon our arrival. On the date of the check-out, we unfortunately misplaced the only key for the house so we all spent additional time looking all over the house so we can find it. Well little that we know that cleaning crew was standing outside waiting. We apologized for taking more time and as they were "Cleaning" caped looking for the key. When we finally found the key, we proceed to leave the house. On the way out my friends overheard the one of the cleaning crew saying:" Those STUPID people won't leave!" very loudly. One of my friends asked the cleaning lady:" Why did you call us stupid". To which she responded:" Coz you are taking too long". I am guessing she took offence to us asking since we received a call from management asking us to not harass the cleaning staff. In conclusion we were also accused of cracking a counter top, apparently leaving bleach stains on bed sheets (obviously no one did laundry in rental property so that is a ridiculous claim) and a ripped seat cushion (can simply be sewed up in 2 min or new one is $5 in Ikea) We never got our promised $200 for broken Jacuzzi. They ruined the trip; they ruined the vibe. This property is a SCAM!!! If you do end up renting this property take pictures of EVERYTHING!!! Because they will be looking for the reasons to not refunds your security deposit.

After finding " the perfect house for us " she shared some of our financial discussions with the seller giving them the impression that we would pay more than we were ready or capable of paying. When came time to put everything down on paper after having accepted our offers, the seller backed out. We were told it was because they were second guessing selling their home. Come to find out it was because " she had made promises on our behalf based on a confidential discussion " and when we refused to sign papers supporting her assumptions the seller bowed out... Honestly if we could have negotiated directly with the seller we would have come to a clear and swift agreement without any of these back handed manipulations. Two weeks after being told " good luck with your hunt " after loosing " our perfect house " Michelle returned. This time representing the seller and asked us " if we were interested still in buying their home "? By then we were committed to another agent and another house. I don't know what Michelle told the seller in the end but I have no doubt she threw us under the bus to save her reputation. It seems to be the way she works as she's repeatedly done so through this transaction. I feel bad for the seller because they were genuinely good people and we truly loved their house. We felt honoured to have connected with them. We wish them the best of luck.
