I have a bday party here in 2023 and though the price seems expensive it really is worth it. It was the easiest party experience you'll ever have. They plan it, they make the goody bags, they have the food and they guide the whole thing. You don't have to do a thing but show up. Food was great -- everyone loved the Greek salad. The cake was also very good. Recommend it 100%.

My family and i had an amazing time at this farm on Sunday. It was our first time here and we will def be coming back yearly. It's very family friendly and there's so much to do, it's def a zoo and fall farm all in 1. Parking was a bit hectic but once inside, no stress at all. Def make sure u come with cash and take a map. They do not take cards. We went to the animal area first and were able to do the giraffe experience twice. I wish they were a bit more organized in this area so that families can really enjoy and take better pictures. I couldn't get a pic or video without other people behind me or kids getting in the way. They are my fave animal so i was in heaven but that's my only suggestion. We loved all the animals, went to the play area for my son then the hayride and to the shows. After the mutts show my son rode a horse. We also did the Dino experience which was so cute. Very similar to the Bronx zoo! I can't wait to come back already. I will plan ahead and come earlier in the day

Atmosphere: The farm is a great size--big enough to explore without feeling overwhelming, and the price is very reasonable for families. It has a fun, welcoming vibe that's perfect for kids. Unlike some other zoos, this place offers unique touches like letting visitors feed a wide variety of animals, including the giraffe, which was a highlight. The cornfield ride adds a charming, seasonal feel and makes the visit even more memorable. Everything felt well organized, and the layout made it easy to get around. Experience: Our visit was really enjoyable overall. The kids loved being able to interact with so many animals, and the feeding stations were a big hit. Just make sure to bring cash and quarters since that's needed for feeding the animals and buying bird food. The only downside was that some of the food options felt a bit old, but the main attractions more than made up for it. Between the animal encounters, the giraffe feeding, and the cornfield ride, it was a fun and unique experience that we'd definitely recommend to other families. Free parking

We went back for the opening weekend On Saturday and had a really great time...the cooler weather helped with the smell...the animals looked well maintained and fed. Staff were friendly..will definitely return!

Great place to spend 2 to 3 hours with your kids or grandkids. The admission cash fee to the farm is $45. The farm had many animals to enjoy and feed. There are multiple playgrounds. Hayrides are available. Also, they had a magic show to entertain the kids. Food and drinks were available for purchase. They had a giraffe and they gave the visitors carrots to feed to the giraffe. Big pumpkin display for families to purchase.

White Post Farms, is a great place to take your kids or grandkids. From feeding the animals ( goats, cows and giraffes, ostriches ). Visit the primate in closure . Take a ride thru the corn field on a hay ride or catch one of the shows. So much to do, remember to bring sunscreen and water, they do sell it but if you're on line it's better. Parking is plenty a little pricey but worth it. Ciao For Now

I've worked across the street for over half a decade and I never knew this place had a full zoo/farm in the back! I visited weekly for lunch - this place has the best sandwiches, smoothies, wraps, even sushi!! I was looking for birthday party ideas for my son's 3rd and we ended up booking this place. I was nervous about booking a winter party at a farm but the staff assured me it would be indoors and warm for the kids. The staff at the farm made sure to check in with me regularly about the planning. I literally just had to show up - white post did EVERYTHING!!! Decor, food, even personalized party favours! I ordered food for adults a la carte and every bite we took was to die for. Extra shout out to Al, Kati and Ashley who were helping us through the day of - we truly had the best experience, our guests were raving!!!! Such an affordable party and truly the best idea. Thank you White Post!!!!

What a fun place for people of all ages! Whether you're bringing the kiddies or are a couple looking for a good date spot or with friends looking for a place to hang out, there are attractions for everyone! You must pay with credit cards though. There is an ATM machine once you get inside the park. Bring quarters for the animal food! There are all types of animals including the monkeys, lemurs, goats, a bull, a horse, alpacas AND my favorite- GIRAFFES!!! There is a room to go in for birds and another room for butterflies to land on you. The farm is filled with gift stores, a huge market full of baked goods and fresh produce. We got the banana bread and it was delicious! The food court offers a wide variety. I got sushi and my nephew got chicken fingers. There are pony rides and a magic show which my 8-y.o. nephew loved. They have a huge playground to run around in.... And their new exhibit is very cool! A room full of electronic, animated dinosaurs with special effects! My nephew loved that attraction and learned so many cool new facts about dinosaurs! The exhibit was very well put together! We went in the rain and there were lots of coverings and we still had a great time! Definitely a spot to put on your bucket list!!

Re: White Post Farm in Melville NY and the many Weekend Activities- Pros and Cons - They are open on the weekdays, but the package of events and activities is inclusive on the weekends with more things going on. Centrally located from Nassau and Suffolk for a day at a Fall Festival. We went on this past perfect weather Sunday. There were many things for kids of all ages. Choosing the best is a personal preference. Though I really want to commend Chief Explorer Carson with the new baby Daisy Dinosaur. He is great, friendly and very effective, especially with the children. (a wonderful puppeteer) A sign notes at the Dinosaur Adventure exhibition " Special Thanks to Sydney & Brooke for creating the Dinosaur Adventure for all to enjoy". The sign does also note to be aware of lights, movement etc. for those that might be sensitive or fearful of such things. Overall, it's really a great exhibit to experience. It can run into a lot of money. The activities are well spread out with shows, food, places to sit and pumpkins, baked goods and candies for purchase. Bring strollers and wheelies. No Dogs Allowed. No refunds, exchanges on purchased tickets. They are for the day. They do give you a map with a QR to scan. Don't ask the kids working there as they do not know where to direct you. There is a charming "Farmer" who does speeches of the information and answer questions. There is a parking area and handicap car park in front. Note: I suggest you go to the front end for Handicap as there is no open gate or entrance on the fenced to opening. Upon leaving there is a register with some gotcha items for sale as you pay for the items you choose to buy. Events as a magic act, circus act with pretty impressive balance act by the young man, dog act, and others are in the back area. In the front is a children's country music and dance act. Many toy items for sale as well. They also have a birthday party section. In the Animal Section there are Giraffes to pet and feed as other goats, and sheep and an area where you can watch monkeys in a small enclosure. There also is a small bird sanctuary where you can buy little cups of food to feed some of the bright colored birds there. Overall a nice way to spend the day.

We love this place. So much to do. We just visited their Fall Festival and loved all the shows. Two special treats this year stood out. The Great Dinosaur Adventure which is a walk through Pavillion of dino's galore. We were greeted upon entry by Dino Expert Professor Terry Dactile. He was holding a baby dino named Daisy, my kids even got to pet this lively beast. Before leaving walked into the Rodeo Ricky Jamboree, So funny and interactive, Rodeo did magic then had what he called a huge kids dance party. My youngest threw a tantrum because he didn't want to leave the stage. Oliver the giraffe was the sweetest animal of the day. We even fed him carrots. What a beautiful time and a wonderful place to spend the day.

My 3 yr old son had a ball, he enjoyed him self so much with his little cousin who was there celebrating her birthday with the family. He went to the pumpkin patch first , this was his first time there . He loved all the pumpkins and enjoy seeing all the other kids there picking pumpkins smilling playing and just having fun. He next spot he went to was the zoo. He loves all kind of animals. This was right up his alley, it was his favorite spot at the zoo. From the camels to the giraff, the cute little pony ride was awesome. The cows , he loved it. Then he was off to the rides. They had a nice little carousel he had fun on. He didn't want to get off the ride. Especially the little giraff ride. The food was kid friendly pizza and french fries, nuggets etc. Me and my wife would definitely take him back here in the future. Great place for kids especially if they are toddler's for there first zoo experience or pumpkin patch experience . This farm will make lifetime of memories for the family.

What a great experience, just be prepared it is a bit pricey and even for the littles but it was well worth it. There are ton of animals and a ton of experiences. Your entry does include the free shows, tractor ride, and giraffe experience. You should bring quarters and cash to feed the animals and yourself too. You can pay ahead of time online for your tickets or you can pay in person but CASH Only. There was a ton of animals and interactions. Especially with the birds and pony rides. I loved the fact you can host parties and there's a section of the farm where the kids can play on the different playground areas that they have. There's shade and enough tables too. They have a gift shop and they have some pastry's too that you can buy on your way out! We did buy a toy and some deserts to bring home, that you can use your card for! Made for a nice family day.

Ask the Community - White Post Farms

Is it worth to bring kids to see Santa ? Is there anything else to do or see. We are coming all the way from Southshore? Are any animals out to be seen?

yes I believe your kids will love it.besides the baby giraffe there are plenty of more animals to look at and pet.

Are there real bathrooms or port-a-potties? I'm 8.5 months pregnant, and if I have to use one of those things, I would rather just pop a squat on the ground!

    There are real bathrooms!

Has anyone had a birthday party when it rained?

Yes it rained quite hard during our son's party but thankfully a good portion of the petting zoo area is covered so everything went just fine. The party rooms are inside and they can even do the pony rides inside as well.

Do you know if 1 year olds pay and if babies under 1 pay?

    Babies under 1 are free!

Do they make or sell apple cider donuts?

    Yes

Do you still have to pay for admission if you're there to attend a birthday party?

Not if the inviter paid for the space. If you've been invited then bring a gift or yourself. You'll be fine.

Are there places to sit along farm? I want to bring grandparents but need to know if there are "resting" spots. Thanks!!

Yes, Danielle I believe there are.

If you are debating whether a membership is worth it or investing on some tickets for the family, I say GO FOR IT! you really won't regret it I have a membership and it's been the greatest membership I've had thus far. I have the family zoo plus membership where three adults including yourself get in for free plus 4 children. You have the option to add another adult on the card- the purpose is so that person can go to the zoo with the card without you having to be there. The person whose name is on the card must be present. You are able to remove or add a person at anytime. For me it's more flexible and convenient to only have my name on it to not restrict the people I could take. The membership grants you access to the zoo for a full year, including the Central Park zoo, prospect zoo and queens. there's a membership that grants you access to the aquarium as well but is more expensive. Parking is not included in the membership but is available for an additional fee at the time of purchase with your membership or at any point during your membership. Every time I go to the zoo, regardless of the season we find parking so we don't need the parking at the zoo. You get a 10% discount at the gift shops and food spots. You get free access to jungle world, nature trek, the children's museum, Congo world, the big carousel, wild Asia monorail and the butterfly garden which you would normally have to pay an additional fee to get into besides your regular zoo admission ticket. You also get early access to new animal exhibits before the public does. And those are only some of the benefits that you get, you also get additional discounts for things that aren't covered by the membership such as the holiday lights show (25% off) I am delighted to say that I have never seen the bathroom at the zoo in bad conditions EVER. I don't know how they manage to keep it so clean, regardless of the large crowds. Overall, the zoo is always clean. The guests are respectful in the sense that there is never garbage on the floor. It is worth it to purchase a souvenir cup. You get free refills throughout the day and for any future visits. I've been using the same cup since last year with no issues. There are some areas where the refill is a $1 and others where it's free with that specific cup. If you are a member, remember to mention to the cashier that you are one so they can apply your member discount for your food and drinks, they often forget to ask if you are a member. The best recommendation I can make is to use the interactive map provided by the zoo, available on your phone. You share your location with the map, and tap on the animal you want to see and it will direct you to it live. It will look similar to your iPhone maps when you're walking without the audio. Trust me the interactive map will make things significantly easier and less aggravating. You can miss a lot of animalsthat are close by without the map, you would be walking in circles without it and end up note tired at the end. The signal over there is not great but the maps function work perfect for me. I recommend you wear walking sneakers because you will WALK a while lotttt. You also can't get in the nature trek without sneakers. You can bring in your own food and drinks to the zoo, there are designated areas to sit down and eat. An insulated book bag works wonders for me. There are strollers available for rent which you will absolutely need if you don't have your own. The zoo is very inclusive when it comes to people with disabilities which is great, they have alternative routes all over and tell you in advance if a particular route will lead to stairs, and if so there's alternative routes that are stairs free. There are also quiet areas and headphones available upon request. The most perfect time to go is right before spring, you will have the animals to yourself ! I discovered that solo dates to the zoo is the most majestic experience ever! You get to enjoy the zoo with no rush and it's even better without the crowds. The animals are also more relaxed and don't hide when there's less crowds. For the first time ever I got to see the tiger walk right next to the glass. Prior to the spring there will be exhibits closed for the winter but none that take away from the experience. The zoo is free on Wednesdays and so is the botanical garden which is close by. I went to the botanical garden for an hour to journal and spend time with god and proceeded to the zoo for the rest of my day and it made it 100x better to see that these beautiful animals are a gift to us form the lord 10/10 recommend

I've never once seen the entire zoo in one trip. I've been going there since I was five and wouldn't be surprised if there are parts I still haven't seen yet because it's so expansive. All my visits as an adult have all been with groups of children, and it's difficult corralling and motivate kids to keep moving in such a large zoo. I found it best to ask each kid what they want to see most and hit up those spots. Treat everything passed along the way as a bonus. These trips often include city kids. These kids are used to walking entire neighborhoods just to get to school or anywhere else, but the zoo still wears them out, so imagine suburbanites used to the car life on these trips. Those kids struggle. We've always left before even seeing half of what the zoo has to offer. If I didn't live in NY and wanted to really wanted kids to see the zoo more fully, I'd break it into a multi day trip rather than attempt it in one go. But kids are always happy with my abridged trips to just say hi to their favorites. I'm the one left wanting. I'll probably have to start going solo or with adults in order to really explore. I do think it will be possible to see everything in one trip with just adults. The zoo is just not little legs friendly. The Bronx Zoo is probably the most expensive zoo I've ever visited. If an exhibit is popular, anticipate pulling out some money to pay more to see it. That's ok for me if the money is used for good, but it's something to consider if on a budget. I wish they were more strict about not letting people bang on the glass in the primate exhibit. I leave the primates for last on trips because watching them makes me so sad. That sadness gets punctuated by bangs and taps on the glass by inconsiderate zoo goers.

Turtle Back Zoo turns into a complete Christmas paradise after 5 PM, and it's absolutely magical. I recently found out about this and, after seeing the lights and activities, I was genuinely impressed. During the holiday season, entry is free after 5 PM through sponsorship, which is a huge plus. Timings are 5 PM - 9 PM. Parts of the zoo remain open, so you can still see animals and birds like bison, giraffes, toucans, and more, which makes it extra special for kids. The entire park is beautifully lit with festive decorations and multiple Christmas trees. The area near the carousel looks amazing. For Kids' Activities - There's no shortage of fun for children- Face painting, Meet & greet with Santa (on specific days/times), Carousel rides, Pony rides etc... Food and beverages are well taken care of, like Starbucks or Zoo's own food sections spread across the park. Perfect for grabbing a warm drink while walking around. They have a small lot out front and two multi level parking garages for the overflow. The light displays were so cute and sparkly, holiday music was playing overhead, and there was a train that took us over a river and through the woods. The line for the train was lengthy, but they had a heater which helped some on the very frigid night. There were plenty of lights to admire while in line. I will say we were a little surprised that the entire train ride was pretty dark. We expected to see light displays and installations along the way, but it was really only at the beginning. Our little one loves trains and so he was content, which is all that matters. There were smores pits, a kettle corn and hot chocolate cart, and a cozy inside cafe which we really needed to warm up. Pricing for these items was a bit of an upcharge, but as everything else was free, we sort of expected it. The animals were not really on display as it was a special event after the zoo was officially closed, but we did get to see and pet the sting rays, 1 baby shark, and a large aquarium with colorful fish (Nemo, Dory & friends). All in all it was a great holiday event and was enjoyed by all.
