When we attempted to purchase through Alden Lane, they informed us that they didn't sell the fountains. They were on display through Minerals in Symmetry and Alden Lane provided us with the contact information to purchase directly though Darin. At first attempt to contact, we were told that the brother was honeymooning in Hawaii, but they would be able to install as soon as they got home. We waited but were never contacted. Through a coincidence, we ran into a friend of Darin's who offered to contact him for us, as he had seen on Facebook that the honeymoon was over. Once contact was made, he came out to give us a quote and we agreed to have the fountain installed. There were a few hiccups on install day, but they're a small business and we didn't want to judge too harshly. We paid cash for the fountain and went on with life. A few days later, we realized the fountain wasn't holding water. It will work for a couple hours, but then runs out of water and all you can hear is the hum of the motor. There is a basin below the fountain that is supposed to recirculate the water, but it seems to be leaking as the ground around the fountain is always wet. We immediately contacted Darin to ask him to fix the fountain. He agreed that it is not working correctly and has promised to fix the fountain. Every time my husband has contacted him, he assures us he will come out to make it right. It has been 8 months. He lives less than 30 miles from us, there is no reason that they couldn't make it right by now. We have been more than pleasant and accommodating, but it is now a $1500 fountain that doesn't work. He never installed the lighting he quoted us for, all of the plants he put in have since died. So we have a $1500 worthless rock sitting in our backyard. We have asked for a refund, he can have his rock back. We have asked for him to fix it. Over and over again it's just months of excuses and promises with no follow though. Stay far away from this business, they do not know what they are doing, do not have the knowhow to fix their own product or the morals to make it right.

As part of this process, HQR sat down with us to go over our design ideas and created incredibly realistic 3D renderings of the kitchen. We were blown away when we saw the 3D renderings because it gave us the confidence that the kitchen would look just as great as we imagined it would be. The 3D renderings also helped us make some small design revisions to the plan, which we wouldn't have thought to do without the renderings (such as two pendant lights vs. three). All in all, I highly recommend getting these realistic renderings done ahead of time.
