At first she was great! the bride wasn't happy with her dress and wanting to modify substantial portion of dress, Colleen was leading the bride it was doable then she offer the bride the vintage dress which was soiled, stained to buy from her. my jaw was literally dropped that point who would wear the dirty dress to once in a life time wedding? make a story short, bride found her a new dress ask Colleen to alter but Colleen was giving a run around. We did find A new place to proceed with fitting. The bride left her veil in colleen's possession With her suggestion, so bride Politely ask to retrieve But she demanded $200.00 from bride. After a tragic incident at another alterations place and three weeks out from my wedding, I was desperate to find someone who could make my dress fit properly. Several places turned me away saying they were booked for October, and I'm so glad they did otherwise I might not have found White Orchid! Colleen is my favorite type of person to work with: honest, upfront, and into creative problem solving. She has years of experience creating custom gowns and ballet costumes and it shows! She cut open my dress in front of me to show me the cheap boning that was buckling under the weight of my *ahem* gals, and walked me through the realistic possibilities for my dress. I really appreciate that kind of directness. Not only did she fix the bunching and crappy boning, but she also created a gorgeous jeweled appliqué/flutter sleeve based on another dress (out of my price range) that I had initially fallen in love with. It served to give me the support I desperately needed while also giving my dress a taste of glamour and flair. I can't begin to tell you how happy I was with it. From start to finish, Colleen was a dream to work with. She was very transparent with pricing, sent me progress pictures and worked with me during a time when my schedule was pretty hectic. I will say that the position Colleen put me in 4 weeks before my wedding was devastating. I LOVED my experience with Colleen at White Orchid Bridal. I contacted Colleen in May for my late August wedding and had my first fitting in late June. Colleen reset the sleeves, took in the sides, and altered the hem of my Bhldn lace gown over the course of 3 fittings.
