However, The Sentimentalist called me on October 8th to let me know it arrived at their shop! I was so excited! Since I was out of town, I booked an appointment for October 15th, requesting to be paired with Lauren again if possible. I parked and headed inside for my 12PM appointment. The associate at the counter got me checked in, asked if I wanted anything to drink, and seated me in my room. Soon, I was met by a smiling and sweet Lauren! She had arranged her schedule to make sure she could be there with me today. She guided me to where my gown was hanging and prepped for me, and stood right outside the curtain in case I needed assistance. When I came out and looked in the mirror, I was so pleased. I had brought my veil and shoes with me for the full effect, and Lauren had even kindly boxed my veil up for me and packed it in a nice tote bag, since I had brought it in all wound up inside the shipping bag it had come in in. It's the little things that really mean so much. Lauren, as well as the other stylists who peered around the corner to see me in my dress and offer kind words, made me feel so beautiful. I am so grateful for all of their help throughout the process of getting me my perfect wedding dress! I am absolutely thrilled with it and can't wait to wear it on the big day! I can't thank Lauren and the team at The Sentimentalist enough! They are truly the best!

They completely botched what was supposed to be a minor alteration and ties for a French bustle incorrectly. When I tried on the dress, the poor workmanship was glaringly obvious. When I attempted to explain the issues, the staff there were dismissive and rude, treating my concerns as if I was making them up. They left me standing there alone with the dress while they attended to other customers, despite knowing I had a scheduled appointment. To make matters worse, my dress was dirty and unpressed at final pick-up, contrary to what had been agreed. I had to seek out another tailor to fix their shoddy work which was immediately noticeable to them, which caused unnecessary stress and expense just two days before my wedding day! I did send an email requesting a refund for the failed alterations in an attempt to resolve this directly, but have yet to receive any response from anyone at the shop. I cannot recommend Bridal Sense for alterations--they clearly lack professionalism, skill, and customer care.

As it came time for me to shop for my own dress, Kelly's was at the top of my list.  I ended up working directly with Kelly after my originally assigned stylist was unable to make it in due to surprise snowy weather. Kelly is amazing - she asked questions to get a sense of what styles I liked, how I wanted to feel in my dress, and overall vision for my whole day. She pulled me some beautiful options I would have never chosen for myself, and gave me such individualized care and attention through 9 dresses. She also talked me through alteration possibilities for each of the dresses, and answered any questions me, my sister, mom, and mother-in-law had.  Kelly's is a must - knowledgeable and kind staff, wide range of dress styles and price points, boutique experience, incredible in-house alterations, and a variety of accessories. I cannot recommend this store enough - truly a warm and thoughtful experience. And bonus points for being an independent woman-owned business! Thank you, Kelly and Kelly's!!

A lot of your experience is going to depend on who you end up working with during your appointment…read more When I was a bride, I actually had 3 separate appointments at this location (2 to try on dresses for me and one for bridesmaids options) my first appointment was great. Fun, low pressure, it wasn't busy. I didn't find my dress but it was a good experience overall. My second appointment was terrible. I knew more about stock, pricing, brands and styles than my stylist. She wasn't particularly interested in being helpful and actually wandered off for a while during our 1 hr appointment (both rude & unprofessional) leaving my girlfriend to help me in and out of dresses (and even clipping me in) The third time I didn't have an appointment and was there sort of on a whim (was shopping at Anthro and had some extra time on my hands-decided to do some bridesmaids research) I went in and started looking around. There wasn't an appointment in progress and wasn't one for a few hours so they helped me out and it was a fantastic experience. I tried on almost everything I wanted to. But that's was luck. Otherwise I would say this location is pretty small and a bit loud due to its proximity to the Anthro store and their fitting rooms (it is inside of the store and located sort of in front of the fitting rooms). You will be changing the the Anthro fitting rooms, there's not a separate area for brides. It also seems smaller than other locations (I've been to one other in NYC a few years prior to my engagement season) so they have less stock on hand to see in person than what other locations may have. I think your experience can vary so much here based on who your stylist is and how busy Anthro is which.

As a bridal stylist, one of my services includes helping brides narrow down the perfect salon based on their price range, what they are looking for, and their overall vision. I have even had the pleasure of working with the owner at a few bridal shows, so I was already familiar with the level of care and professionalism their team brings to every appointment. From the moment we arrived, the energy was warm and welcoming. There is truly a gown for everybody and every body.
