White Mechanical came out September to replace our A/C system. They recommended a few brands, and we made our choice based on their recommendation. They were on time, professional, and completed the work in a timely manner. We received a rebate that required the city to come out and check the system. Everything passed code and we're happy with the system and the work. Brett sold us the unit. He was great and even came out when we heard a strange noise which ended up having nothing to do with the A/C. I would recommend them for any type of heat/Air etc.. read more

We replaced two 25 year old HVAC systems in our house with Lennox heat pumps through Costco and White Mechanical. The installation was generally very good, but I have two complaints: When I was advised about the cost of the systems, White Mechanical neglected to inform me that the air handlers (that replace gas furnaces) required 220v. power service. That cost over $2,000 in additional charges after installation had begun. Second, they didn't fully charge one of the two systems, so the performance of the air conditioning was clearly inadequate. In their defense, they came out and fully charged the system, so it is working fine now, but there isn't much excuse in failing to do so at the onset. read more

He provided recommendations and different options and set up the process. David and Travis installed the units. They were both very professional, efficient, and kind. They worked with me to find a way to divert the condensation line to the outside of my home and was able to hide the line from view. We really wanted to have our AC Unit looked and make sure everything looked and worked well. We had not had any problems with our unit, but wanted to just make sure. My appt was between 8-10am, but a call was made to me by Wade and he let me know he will arrive in 20 min. This gave me enough notice to make sure I was ready and home. Wade was very friendly, and was very informative with everything he was doing. He was not a salesman, but just doing his job, and I thought he did a GREAT job at that. He had made a recommendation, a quote for that, without being pushy. So we did not feel pressured at all, and able to make a decision in a nice manner. The whole appt took about 1 hour. it was a very pleasant appointment and our minds are at ease now, knowing our unit is good and can continue to use our AC without worry. Its been two years since I had White Mechanical replace my HVAC with a Lennox 2 speed system and I couldn't be happier. Its the middle of a 100+ heat wave and the system handles it easily. Salesman Gary Hopkins was exceptional and I loved the way he showed up on the install date. Gary returned every call promptly and handled all my concerns. White Mechanical does it old school and by the book. Exactly the kind of contractor I was looking for. The 2 speed system is great - it shifts into 'high' to take the edge off and shifts into low to keep things cool. I also had my line set replaced (old one had leaks) and had the ducts and registers replaced. Its made a big difference in the amount of cold air produced compared with the old system. The new registers look great and replace the 1970's ones that were original. I went through Costco and got a nice rebate. read more

Just a review by an ecstatic White Mechanical customer... We had another company come out to diagnose a problem with our furnace. They flat out told us that we should replace the furnace and AC unit ($7000) or, at a minimum, spend about $1000 for repairs. We chose neither. On a referral, we called White Mechanical. Their tech, Charlie, called in advance, showed up on time and was able to properly diagnose the problem. It was the limiter. As a result, he got our furnace up and operational in less than 2 hours and for several hundred dollars less than the 'other guys'. We have had problems with our air conditioning for a few years now. I started a yearly contract with this company about 6 months ago and he had to refill the coolant. Just recently we had our 6 month checkup and we told him the overflow was leaking outside, which has never happen before. He said it was probably a blocked pipe under the bathroom sink and I needed a plumber. I had a plumber come out and it was still happening, so I called the company back and they sent out Kirk, who was very knowledgeable and nice. He checked and found out we were low on coolant and that there was a possibility of a leak. He came out again and determined there was a leak. We scheduled to get the coil and pan replaced, as well as the unit outside which was uneven leveled off. What a difference!! Our house has never been this cool and we had a bedroom that was always warmer and wouldn't get very cool. We are very happy with the work and highly recommend this company. He also told us we didn't have a safety valve which they also put in. We could have potentially had a ceiling leak if the problem got worse since there was nothing to shut it down, once it got to a certain level. Thank you, thank you White Mechanical!! Out of the 3 HVAC companies that we called and stopped by our house, they were the only ones to actually try to troubleshoot the issue first rather than simply just offering to sell us on their services. This company rocks!. From beginning to end, I had a great experience with White Mechanical. Gary the salesman was informative, professional, and no pressure. Heather is in the office and handles billing. Best of all (another) Gary and Lorenzo were the installers and were awesome. I had a new Lennox HVAC installed. Gary and Lorenzo removed and hauled away the old equipment and old ducts. They installed the furnace, coils and and condensor with an eye on detail. They replaced the ducts in the attic, replaced all the registers, and installed a new thermostat. They arrived on time (8 AM) for the two day job, were clean, professional, conscientious, and informative. Costco has a relationship with this company. All Lennox equipment purchases are eligible for a Costco cash card rebate. HVAC equipment and installation is a big investment, so the rebate is substantial. We had no heat in the house so I called and made an appointment the next day. I was notified when my appointment was and sure enough Kevin arrived just in time. I explained to him was was wrong, so he went and checked around and inside the house including the filters, thermostat, outside and also the fuse box. We found out what was the main reason and he fixed it right away. He also gave me a full diagnostic report about what was wrong, what I needed and gave me a full blown tutorial on how the heating system works. Kevin was also friendly and very knowledgeable. These guys and Damon were so great, I'm mad at myself for talking so long to give them a good review. There was something weird with our heat was not working (and ac not well) and Damon came out. He could have told me the system was shot and I would have bought a new one, but he said I had a good unit and figured out how to fix easily. Replaced some vital components and preventive pieces over next week, and now I feel like I don't have to worry about future things for awhile (and them watching it). My A/C went down over the weekend. I had worked with another HVAC company that is listed on my A/C unit but after yelping them, I decided I might look for another local company. White Mechanical seemed to have a very high rating and overall good reviews. I made an appointment and Damian confirmed that he was on his way. He was happy to explain to me exactly what he was doing at every stage and I learned a lot about my unit while he did it, including periodic care and some simple troubleshooting items. How many service individuals actually jog to their truck to get tools or materials? Honestly? He did a lot of jogging...thankfully, he was parked nearby, but he could have milked the time if he wanted to. In the end, it took an hour, a few pounds of freon and a new capacitor. He absolutely would not finish the job until he was satisfied that the unit was working to his satisfaction! Thank you Damian! If you're not satisfied, I'm not satisfied. What could have been an expensive repair or even an upsale was an efficient, professional and inexpensive service call. This is who I will use now for my HVAC needs. I have no negative observations. He said that our unit was still young enough that anything would probably be a waste of money, but did recommend the dryer duct be cleaned and provided a contact that he recommended for that service! Steve did a great job replacing an ignition switch on my heater! First off, I received same day service, he called before hand and did a thorough inspection. He identified the issue, explained the options and replaced the switch. And, most importantly, he stuck around to adequately test it under a few conditions. My Furnace stopped working about a week ago, just stop blowing hot air. I had a different company come out and said either I pay half of what a new unit would cost to repair it, or just replace the whole thing. I then called White Mechanical for a second opinion. The repair tech that came over, I think his name was Damian, was on time and fixed the issue super quick. It appears the first company was just trying to up-sell me. White's repair tech was way better, he explained to me a lot about how the whole system works in the short time he was here so I understood what caused the problem. He also explained what things I should look out for to recognize some other common problems that I did not even know existed. I appreciate the honesty I received. My heater and A/C is about 25 years old, so I know I will need to replace it sometime soon, I'll make sure white will be first on my list of people to call first. -BL read more

My wife is ready to go into labor any day now and our air condition went out during a major heat wave. It was due to a part that was installed last year and was under warranty. Due to the heat, there were no available appointments for over a week. One of the Managers by the name of Steve personally came out. Since it was a warranty issue and seeing my wife, he said they would get a crew out the next day. Two guys came out at 5:00 after a full day of jobs and stayed until 9:30 to get the job completed. I called on Monday morning and was able to get an appointment by Friday, which was a relief given this is probably the busiest season of the year. Our appointment was between 4 and 6, and we got a call around 5 that Wade would be at our house within half an hour. Wade was trustworthy, kind, and responsive, and even though it was a Friday afternoon, he was extremely thorough. He was even talking football with my husband and giving him pointers on checking on the air conditioning later. The price tag on a/c fixes is probably never small, but I trusted Wade completely that we needed what he told us we needed and that the price was fair. Of course at the start of our August heat wave, my central AC unit suddenly goes out the same week I am expecting a house full of overnight guests! As this heat wave hit hard and fast, AC units were apparently failing all over the county. I called several local HVAC companies and they were all booked solid, no one had an opening until the following week, which was after my guests would be here and gone. I booked a couple of appointments, and asked to please be placed on a "wait list" if they had an earlier cancelation. After a couple of days, with no word from anyone, I called White Mechanical based upon the Yelp reviews. When I called, I actually spoke to the owner, who I believe was answering the phone for the receptionist who was away from her desk. That alone was amazing after dealing with automated hold systems at some of the other vendors. I told him my problem and that reason I was so concerned was because I had company coming to visit for the coming weekend. He explained that because of the weather they too were also booked solid, but would put me on a cancel wait list. He also took the time to explain what could be some of the problems with my unit from my description and a rough estimate of what it could cost to repair those issues. Late the next day, the receptionist called me and asked if I could meet their repairman the next afternoon. Absolutely! She said "good", as she had a "sticky" on her phone the last few days to remind her to call me if she thought they could find an opening. I think she was genuinely concerned. Wow. The serviceman was waiting in front of my house when I got there. He was extremely professional, very nice guy, figured out quickly what the problem appeared to be (Bad compressor) and said he had a spare one on his truck he could replace it with immediately, if I wanted. You bet! He hooked it up and tested the amps, and it was running too high of a current, which could cause the fan to burn out, so he changed the hook up on it to lower the amps and then ran it for several minutes hooked to a meter to make sure the power did not spike and cause a problem. He made sure I was satisfied with the results and I certainly was. The cost was only a little over $200. I was very relieved for several reasons! My house guests would not be miserable, and I didn't have to spend a fortune to get it running. These people were my heroes for the week for sure! Needless to say, I will call them first for any future HVAC needs and would definitely recommend them. read more

We had used WM for a second opinion on a noisy a/c issue that we were initially quoted for thousands of dollars by another company. Supposedly, the compressor was going bad and needed replaced. The technician arrived on time, was very professional and courteous, knew what he was doing, and best of all, he was honest. He diagnosed the problem as just some loose screws and the issue was quickly resolved. He said the unit is operating as expected for a 6yr old a/c unit and there was nothing wrong with it. He could have easily tried to scam us like the other guys and say the compressor was bad and just try to undercut the price of the first company, but he didn't. Thank you. Great work! read more
