Guests can also use the shared lounge, where there is a large flat screen tv, there is also the use of a microwave and a fridge to store your own items of foods should this be required. Maple Leaf has free wifi which is accessible in every room. All bedrooms are equipped with flat screen colour tvs. We are close to the M4/M5 and just minutes away from Aztec West Business Park, Airbus/Rolls Royce and MOD. There are quite a few restaurants and bars near to the area including Cribbs Causeway shopping Mall which is just a five minute drive. Helpful, courteous, and attentive friendly staff, always there when you need them, but at the same time unobtrusive. The rooms are really spacious, bright & airy with lovely, modern decor, and as mentioned, spotlessy clean. All the usual room comforts are provided such as tea/coffee making facilities, ironing board+iron and TV. The bathroom was really gorgeous too with a roll-top bath plus walk-in shower. Expensive smelling toileties & beautifuly soft white fluffy towels completed the superior ambiance of the whole building. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with excellent quality locally sourced food, and plenty of it. Some things were even home-made too, like the delicious jams and marmalade. Oh, and better not forget to mention that they also cater for veggetarians. There is lots of attention to detail here, with everything you could want to hand - and if it's not there just ask, & you will be given - with a smile, I might add! I can't praise the owners high enough for their unwavering consideration towards their guests, which in my opinion more than ensures return visits, and plenty of them! We had already walked all over Winchester, we were on our way to Stonehenge, we were excited and hungry, but also jet lagged and exhausted! Jill brought us to The White Lion joking that, being only 400 years old, it was practically a brand new pub! We came in (mind your head), and were immediately sat down at a big, groaning, family table! Water was served, beers and ciders followed, and then meat pies and fish and chips were ordered all around! This meal was absolutely delicious in the way that only homemade country pub food can be. The cider selection was excellent, and we left refreshed, happy, and ready to take on the rest of our day (mind you, we ALL passed out cold in the van after Stonehenge and on the way back to our hotel)! Steaks, fish and game, with some HUngarian specials such as Hungarian sausages reflecting the ethnic origins of the owners. I've eaten here several times and it is always consistent and pitched right. Not been disappointed so far and I would always be happy to go back. Reasonably priced and quite a good wine list, as well. They do have B&B here but I've not seen the rooms. Open every day except Monday for lunchl.
