This fabulous guest house offers 5* B&B accommodation, at more than reasonables rates considering the sheer comfort and spotless elegance of the rooms, not to mention the exemplary customer service! Helpful, courteous, and attentive friendly staff, always there when you need them, but at the same time unobtrusive. The rooms are really spacious, bright & airy with lovely, modern decor, and as mentioned, spotlessy clean. All the usual room comforts are provided such as tea/coffee making facilities, ironing board+iron and TV. The bathroom was really gorgeous too with a roll-top bath plus walk-in shower. Expensive smelling toileties & beautifuly soft white fluffy towels completed the superior ambiance of the whole building. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with excellent quality locally sourced food, and plenty of it. Some things were even home-made too, like the delicious jams and marmalade. Oh, and better not forget to mention that they also cater for veggetarians. There is lots of attention to detail here, with everything you could want to hand - and if it's not there just ask, & you will be given - with a smile, I might add! I can't praise the owners high enough for their unwavering consideration towards their guests, which in my opinion more than ensures return visits, and plenty of them! The Somerville House was recommended to us by Visit Herefordshire tourist agency and we were not disappointed. What a lovely 4 days we had in Hereford and staying in the Somerville House made it all the better. Located within walking distance of 'high town', the cathedral, and other points of interest in Hereford was very convenient. The room (#4) looked out onto the front garden and while there was some street noise during the day, we slept in their comfortable bed with the window slightly open and experience no disturbance from the outside. Everything needed for a comfortable room was provided. Owners Rosie and Bill and manager Lizzy are just fantastic. Very pleasant and helpful. But this review would not be complete without commenting on their fantastic breakfast offering. They have a complete juice and fruit buffet that is then followed by ordering essentially what ever you want from the kitchen. Since this was our first time to England we had a variety of traditional English breakfast settings during our stay. If you are ever in Hereford I strongly recommend the Somerville House read more
