Awesome. Amazing. Love it. Such a fantastic venue with great acoustics and booze. Get your ass here ASAP!! read more

Came here when I was going to see a concert and the staff were very rude. They were very strict about the fact that they were closing to the point where they wouldn't even let me use the bathroom or go upstairs to the bar where I'd left my charger. The bartenders were very nice as were the coat check girls but some of the other staff were terribly rude. I begged them to let me use the bathroom and they said no which resulted in me having to walk very far and genuinely peeing on myself before I even got to a bathroom. I also asked them to let me go to the bar upstairs to see if I could find my charger because my phone was about to die and I needed it to get home they told me no and to come back tomorrow, I live in NYC so this was not an option. I've never been to a place that wouldn't let someone use a bathroom especially considering it was right there past the doors. Terrible customer service. read more

By far the best concert venue I've ever been to. I'm already looking at every upcoming show just so that I can go back. It starts at entry - the ID checker, security, and coat check staff are the friendliest I've encountered at any concert venue. They do their jobs well - I got a full pat down and coat search, but they somehow make it a pleasant experience. Very friendly and pleasant to have a quick conversation with - as opposed to a lot of security at other places that grunt and look at you like you're just an annoyance. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. Their restoration work and the character of the building itself is stunning. It's a pretty intimate venue, really the perfect size. The bars are easily accessible, service was quick and friendly, and the prices were surprisingly fair for a concert venue. They've got a decent selection of beers and drinks, as well as some food (real food, not just chips and snacks). I went with a few Yuengling beers and followed up with a hot apple cider with whiskey. I didn't get any food this time. The sound quality is perfect here - no echo that I could notice, very clear and very high quality in general. It's all GA, so no seating, but it never got too packed. If you aren't a fan of being stuffed in a crowd (which we never were despite being right by the stage), they have an upstairs balcony that's usually a lot less crowded and still provides excellent views. On top of it all, Ripe and their openers put on a great show. Like I said, I can't wait to find another excuse to come to White Eagle Hall and I couldn't be happier that I live so close to this place. A+++. read more

Awesome new place to see a show. The renovation here looks phenomenal. There are 2 bars on the lower level and they have free water which is great. There is only street parking for the venue, which kind of sucks but due to its location thats expected. They have an upper balcony area but I didnt go up and check it out. Bathrooms are super clean for now, but I dont expect that to last. I will definitely go back for another show. read more

White Eagle Hall - Performing Arts Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

We needed this Jersey City. Still in its infancy stages this point, The White Eagle Hall is starting to gain momentum as the best concert venue in town. Eclectic acts on the bill every weekend. From punk to Jam to theatrical performances all in the scale of a week. The dance floor is what can be described as an old grade school gymnasium setup re-purposed for maximum rage space! A few small high-top tables near the bar area in the back serve as a decent spot for casual chilling. The bar doesn't have the best selection of top shelf but they made up for it with a healthy craft selection. Bonus points for having many local options. Management was also great...although not very responsive on non show days...when I got them they came through in a major way. Upon having such a great time that I left my card at the bar...The White Eagle Hall staff got my address and sent it back to me the next week! Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen! read more

Good venue. Just know that the bar doesn't give out cups for water. You have to buy a water bottle but there is a $20 minimum card charge

Really cool intimate venue. Would be an amazing space to see an artist you really like. Plus there are bars and food in house whicch is very convenient. The food situation could use a little work. We had sausage and peppers and a chicken sandwich. Both actually tasted very good but were cold. And the area where the food is served could be spruced up. The display cases for food were empty and unattractive. But they are still newish so hopefully theyre still working on this. Plus food is not the main event. read more

White Eagle Hall - Performing Arts Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

The venue itself is beautiful and well designed, but that is pretty much all that was positive about our experience there. We bought meet and greet tickets for a concert which said that the meet and greet was from 530-630 and that after 630 no one would be admitted. We arrived at 545 to a huge line that snaked around 2 blocks. At about 745 we finally entered the venue (no one had come around in the 2 hours we were waiting to explain why we were all stuck waiting outside for so long). The show was supposed to start at 9 (actually went on at 10 but I guess that's not the venues fault). We wanted to eat before the show so we went upstairs to order, and that is where it became totally apparent just how disorganized and unprepared this venue is. Taking care of about 20 people on line was just 1 bartender who was taking food and drink orders, ringing people up, and making the drinks. The line took absolutely forever. I ordered food for 3 people and was told to wait at the opposite end of the bar for the food. Orders started to come out but were just left on the bar with no indication as to who the orders went to. Basically it was a total free for all with people just grabbing food as it came out. We got some of our food but after about an hour told the chef we were still waiting on 2 sliders. He angrily threw one out on the bar and barked that they were all out. When I explained we had already purchased another one he basically screamed at me that that was too bad and I should just go get a refund. At this point there were another 20 people on line at the register so we just gave up. All in all poorly managed and very unprofessional. read more

I'm currently at this location about to view the Dobre brothers with my child. We paid for VIP which included 10am early admission. We did not enter till 11:10 am. The unorganized bouncers allowed people who arrived twenty minutes ago to get on the first line meanwhile several of us arrived before 9:45 and stood in the cold and rain. We pointed it out several times and their response was that a couple of minutes made no difference. They could care less!!! NEVER WILL I ATTEND AN EVENT AT THIS LOCATION NOR WILL I ATTEND ANOTHER DOBRE BROTHERS EVENT. The line to meet them is extremely long and the 35 minute show is starting on time, therefore cutting into our meet and greet. NOT AT ALL HAPPY!!! read more

Beautiful venue with good sound and an excellent calendar of acts. I'm glad this place exists. However, they don't offer free drinking (tap) water. If you want water, it's $3 per bottle. That's so incredibly petty. And potentially dangerous when serving so many alcoholic drinks. Why not offer your patrons free water as a courtesy? Also, of course, parking is a nightmare. That's to be expected in Jersey City, but still a reality of the location. If you don't want to miss the beginning of your show, give yourself an extra 30-40 minutes to find parking and walk over. read more

Alright, y'all need to figure out a better system for serving drinks. Throughout the entirety of Julien Baker's performance, not a single person around me spoke. It would have been beautifully quiet. Except for the fact that the entire show, beer cans were being cracked open at the bar, the soda gun was going off constantly, and glasses were being clinked and filled with ice. You can't be running a bar that loud during an intensely intimate, solemn, and quiet concert. It's ridiculous, I couldn't even hear her voice at times. Insanely distracting. Edit: I also want to clarify that I was by far not the only person to feel this way. A few different people around me made comments about it. Many others kept looking back towards the bar. We weren't really even that close to the bar itself. Additionally, the security to get in bordered on overkill. The person checking my bag individually opened each zippered pocket, even the tiniest pockets where I couldn't conceivably have fit anything that would have endangered anyone. If the issue is one of security, perhaps invest in metal detectors. read more

I've been twice now (The Feelies and then Jonathan Richman). Great venue and both shows were great. However, I felt compelled to write my first yelp review. Last night, the security guy was on a total power trip. Ok cool, I'll stop recording with my phone. OK, I'll stop chatting with my friend. But both times, the dude (dark hair, goatee with glasses ) accosted me with a really bizarre tone of authority. Security bro: "Hey did you pay to get in here?" Me "Yeah" Security bro: "OK, well so did everybody else, so you should quiet down." To be honest, Jonathan Richman was amazing, and I enjoyed the show immensely. But sorry Security Bro, didn't realize I was entering a library Friday night. Both encounters could have been handled much more amicably. So four stars for the venue so far, but it would be five had I not been talked to like a child from goatee/glasses security guy. read more

Just saw Get Up Kids. Excellent venue! Sound quality is great. 2 bars downstairs. There is a balcony which was packed. Staff were super friendly. The inside is awesome! Looking forward to another show there. Downtown JC so plenty to do before and after. read more

Gorgeous venue! Getting more and more top notch acts. Very clean and staff was awesome. Bartenders very attentive. Stand out food now served in the venue as well. Super tasty meatball sliders, spicy popcorn, a dessert options, tacos - nice touch! Will be back! read more

This place keeps getting better and better. I'm so glad that us Jersey people don't have to shlep all the way to NYC to catch a great show. It costs me $50 just to cross the river and pay for parking in NYC. Now I can keep that money in my pocket and use it towards another show at White Eagle or grab a bite at one of the restaurants below the venue. Nice! read more

Great small venue; it's the only one like it that I know of in JC. It's a small hall with standing room on the first floor in front of the stage and two bars on either side in the back. They had drink specials and a few seasonal cocktails, as well as a small beer selection. They had the standards plus a couple craft beers from what a I remember. I think beers were around $7, cocktails $12-$15. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, and service was fast--no long lines for drinks at the show I was at. There is standing room and limited seating on the balcony and it's a calmer vibe up there. Also the bathrooms were super clean! read more

For the most part, I had an enjoyable experience at the GBV concert. However, there are some major areas where the venue lacks and I think with time they should be able to streamline a lot of these issues. First and foremost, It shouldn't take 30 minutes to get into a venue. The level or security was over-kill. The line wrapped around the block and by the time we reached the end they were giving TSA full body searches. The show was supposed to start at 8:30, but didn't start until 9:30 because most of the audience was waiting in line. Another issue is the size of the mens bathroom. 2 urinals and 2 toilets is not adequate for an 800 person capacity venue. The only other issue was the sound, it took the sound guy about an hour to get a good mix. If it's only a 1 band show, I would assume that they would do a full sound check early on in the evening to avoid these kinds of issues. I wish White Eagle the best and hope that they continue to improve in the future. read more

Went here a few weeks ago and would definitely go back here for a concert! Parking was a little bit hard, like every city, but found a lot near by that didn't charge much. The venue is really nice (newly remodeled?). The staff was all very friendly and the bartenders were also great. Shout out to the one doing magic tricks in between pouring drinks and the one that topped off my drink when I asked for more ice! read more

So exciting to have such an amazing venue in Jersey City! Amazing doing with clean bathrooms and awesome restaurants right below it.

Really cool spot for a show. Acoustics are great and very intimate. The show we went to was sold out. We showed up about 30 mins before the headliner and it was impossible to get a round of drinks. I wasn't able to get a beer until the 3rd song of the set which was pretty irritating. The bartenders looked overwhelmed and really didn't grasp the concept of taking orders down the line. They were just all over the place. Security getting in is super tight which is fine by me. Just a word of advice if you have anything in your pockets you shouldn't have then don't . Everyone has to empty pockets on a table. read more

Nice music venue with good sound. Be warned though, the bartenders all seem to be VERY slow so i do hope they improve in that department. read more

First off, it is amazing that this venue was the home practice court for perhaps the best public high school program in the history of boys basketball, Bob Hurley Sr's Saint Anthony's Friars. There should really be some kind of tribute to the team in the venue. Other than that, the venue is great, two easy-to-access bars, a great neighborhood with a ton of food and drink options, reasonable lot parking within 0.5 miles, etc. I saw "The Hold Steady", a big band for a room like that, and despite the sell out, the whole process was hassle free. Really cool place, especially considering the history. read more

Could not say enough good things about this venue. Awesome sound. Very small venue but still big enough to get big names there. But most importantly the staff is awesome! I had a mix up when buying tickets and didn't realize I bought tickets for the wrong show. Seeing how I realized 2 hours before the show and the show being sold out. I figured there was no chance of getting in. I called and talked to the manager. Explained my situation and she was able to get me and my gf in at the last minute! She didn't have to. It was my mistake. But she didn't was very understanding and wanted to help! Couldn't be happier with this place! read more

Awful experience. I've been to the venue a few times, but I doubt I'll be going back. It was pouring rain outside and I was barely able to step in before the security guard started groping me. There is no reason to feel between my boobs for a pat down into a small venue. The lighting in the venue was for some reason making me nauseous so I went to get water at the bar where the bartender was equally as rude as the security guard. I had had enough so I left before the headliners made it on stage. Even as I was leaving the security guard again got snarky because I apparently wasn't supposed to exit through the open door despite there being no one in the lobby. White eagle hall has been lackluster since it opened, but now its unbearable. read more

Came to watch Reign of Kindo. Could barely understand the lyrics. Was not impressed with the sound of the venue. Tended to be very wet which didn't really work for the set except for the metal band that played before them. Need to tone down the bleed and get a more dry sound from their production team for bands that require this. Won't come out to Jersey City again for bands playing at this venue. read more

Great venue, fantastic staff, cool interesting building. The staff are super accommodating and helpful. Great acoustics, lighting, etc. We did a one-day conference, with breakfast, lunch, and soft drinks, coffee, snacks. Food was plentiful, everyone had a great time. We were very satisfied. read more

My first time at this place was last night for the Erika Jayne concert. It was definitely an awesome experience. The staff is insanely nice, everyone from security to bartenders, and everyone else I encountered. I don't think they were prepared for the amount of people they were going to have because they kept running out of food, but I wanna send a shoutout to the chef Joseph (I think that's his name) and Kacia (not sure how to spell it.) They were both working the upstairs area and were getting completely destroyed but still had smiles on their faces the entire time. I've been a bartender for the last 5 years and I know it can be hard to maintain your composure when things are getting insane and these 2 staff members are totally top notch. The place is totally beautiful and the sound system is top notch. The whole place was just awesome and I can't wait to come back! read more

Can't believe what they did to the building! Amazing!!!! Went downstairs tonight to have drinks with a group of friends! Everything was great but the staff behind the bar seemed very confused! If you're in a large group, check your bill very carefully. Someone bought my husband and I a drink, then the waitress charged us for the drinks. It's very dark so you really have to be aware of what they are billing you for. The food was absolutely delicious!!! read more
