This is an amazing dojo. One of the best - if not the best I've ever been to. I've probably been to every tai chi studio south of 110th Street in New York City when I was living there. Most of the studios there had odd hours for tai chi (not morning or evening as is customary) and not frequent classes. One studio spent half the class slapping themselves vigorously to get the chi flowing but never did any tai chi. Another studio I went to just had us doing tai chi walking without any other instructions with the empty promise of learning forms to come but never did after a few months. I could go on but suffice to say, it is hard to find a great instructor. White Dragon has not just one, but several excellent instructors. The real surprise is: White Dragon is in Temecula and outdoes dojos in New York City. If you want to learn martial arts, this is the place. White Dragon's tai chi classes have a structured program to help you learn. You even have a manual that you can view that has a list of everything you need to progress to the next rank. Ranks promotions are given without waiting or paying to test. You are promoted and tested when ready. Also, rank is there as a symbol of progress and mastery. But, even as a beginner you can learn more advance techniques. Classes are offered in two forms (pun intended): private and group. Group classes for tai chi are amazing as everyone is so helpful. Private lessons are included as part of the program. Let me repeat that, private lessons are part of the program. You don't pay extra. You get private lessons weekly or biweekly depending on your program. I could go on and on about the program, but you should come in for yourself. Also, did I mention my focus is Kung Fu? As a Kung Fu student, just swipe out tai chi for Kung Fu in the above paragraph. There are tons of classes one can go to. There's basic form, kids classes, adult classes, cardio classes, kicking classes, kickboxing classes, impact training, tai chi (I know, stating the obvious). The dojo is great for everyone of any age. You can be a tai chi student or Kung fu student or both. The instructors are awesome and beyond well trained. They all teach different classes to cover all teaching styles. Sifu and the instructors achieved something that few are able to that White Dragon is like a family and a second home. They care very much for the well being and safety of their students. The students are very supportive of others. Everyone strives to be the best martial artist they can be. Almost two years ago (March 2018), as a 69 year old, I came to White Dragon to study Tai Chi. When I started, I hadn't had any consistent physical activity for a long while. I had some reservations about my conditioning and was worried about how I would hold up to the physical stress. I was particularly concerned about my capabilities based on my age, and past neck and back surgeries. In the time I've been at White Dragon, I've found the several instructors, all very welcoming. They were interested in any limitations that I may have, in order to direct the training to my best advantage. Over the time I've been training at White Dragon, I found the knowledge and experience of the teachers, allowed a continuity and consistency in the instruction. I've seen this in the instruction offered to the beginners as well as the more advanced students. In the almost two years I've trained, I am gaining strength, clarity of mind and have continued to have a lot of fun. I've also found new friends. Some of the tai chi routines are physically challenging and intellectually stimulating as I've progressed. The instructors have allowed me to go at what ever pace I choose. It's been a very positive experience. Each private lesson and/or group classes always begin with the instructor asking the students if they have any particular questions. The instructors are also amenable to focusing on the students requests for assistance. I wanted authentic and the best Kung Fu I could find. Both for myself and my son. This is one of the rare schools that allows kids to come in at 4 years old and they train them. The teachers Paxston and Ms. Mcollum are very patient and make it fun for them. With bullying going on these days I am starting my little man now so he can protect himself and others if needed when he starts school in a year. Love also that they practice with the adults in full contact speed so that it is real life situations and speed. To many schools train in slow motion which does not help the student be prepared for the speed of a real fight/attack. So White Dragon does I look forward to my training with them as I myself have seen how they are doing with my son and am starting next week myself. I look forward to training with Paxston and the group classes. Also one more massive thing is that they include a weekly private lesson every week in the tuition which is unheard of. Also Sifu Houseman said that I can also train with my little guy during the private lesson which would be amazing. I see myself becoming a possible lifer here. read more

Although it was scary at first, the teachers and even students at White Dragon are so accepting and easy to work with. The teachers are easy to talk to and like to have fun even though they do stay on task and get down to buisness. The price is much more than worth the experiences you will get. My advice? Go every day of the week, as much as you can! Dont just go on the days of appointments, go every day. Each day has classes for different parts of the body or for different parts of a fight from sparring to stretching to even Tai Chi! You will laugh, you will hurt, you will find exactly what you are looking for. Each technique you learn feels like something that will actually help you in the outside world. I am writing this as a student of White Dragon Martial Arts and have been for atleast 15 years. I started in the El Cajon school and continued in the Temecula school when I moved to the area. The school teaches two forms of Chinese Martial arts: Choy Li Fut and Yang Style Tai Chi.. What I think is so good about this school, is that you are assigned an individual trainer. I have had many and they all are well trained and share the same knowledge of the art. The training is very consistent and doesn't vary from instructor to instructor. It is a great workout. Lot's of fun and challenging. I encourage you to come to the school talk with an instructor and even sign up for the free introductory lesson. You will be happy you did. My kids and I absolute love White Dragon Martial Arts School. My son and I have been students there for 4 months now and my daughter just started last month it is great :) . Great environment filled with great instructors that are knowledgeable in there trade, and passionate in there teachings. We have had our kids in Karate, and Tae Kwon Doe and we must say that we have finally found the correct martial arts for our family.
