I enjoyed this chain but was disappointed 2X that I came here. Once was with my friend and then 4,months later with my family. The lack of customer service is under statement. They just don't care much for it. We stayed nearby and there plenty of places to checkout and this was on my list since I purchased the frozen on at the market in California from watching the movie "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle". There is literally no one but one customer beside us and it took forever to get service for order. Once it order it took a long time to get our foods. And they forgot the condiments and napkins. My family and I was passing through Nashville on our way to Memphis to visit family. Since there are no White Castle near us in Virginia I made sure to stop so my fiancé could have a fresh White Castle and not those frozen ones from the store. The food and service was amazing no complaints on that area at all. However, I was disappointed they had no White Castle items to purchase like they did years previously. Also there were a couple people sitting in the back of the restaurant (looked possibly homeless) that were making the customers feel uncomfortable. One of them even went into the women's restroom instead of waiting for someone to come out of the men's. Overall, okay to come to as its 24 hours but if this happens during the day I can only imagine things that happen overnight. There was even someone standing outside the front door who looked high off of something that was trying to sell people towels. I was delighted to see a White Castle close to my hotel at my recent stay in Nashville, as it had been several years since my last sliders. This location definitely left a lot to be desired, but at least my burgers were good. First of all, it didn't look like it had been cleaned all day. Floors are permanently sticky, drink spillages in several spots, bathrooms were barely passable to even just wash your hands. The employees were neither bad nor good, just kind of did the thing, albeit very slowly. My sliders came out hot, which at the end of the day, is all I really need. I enjoyed them thoroughly. My fries were stone cold, good thing I also had some onion rings as part of the pack I bought. They were crispy and good. Soda from the Coca Cola freestyle machine tasted semi-flat, like the mix is off. On the whole, most White Castle locations outside of New York and New Jersey have left me wanting. The older, African American lady at drive thru is extremely rude. All she says is "what else, what else". We ask for ketchup and bbq, says "it's in the bag" ignores me and hands me ONE BBQ. For an order of $40+. This location is trash and continues to be. Oh and onion rings were raw, mushy, cold.. not crunchy. No napkins no straw. My hamburgers were literally mush, they were so mushy and full of grease you couldn't even get them out of the bag without half breaking up and falling off into the bag. I was so excited to see a White Castle when I got to Nashville because I have never eaten at one before. I should have listened to our shuttle driver and not even went. When we walked in not one person acknowledged us (and they were completely empty) the manger was loud and very unprofessional talking to the two girls behind the counter. Then the one cooking fries finally took our order, she was well mannered but the food was HORRIBLE. The "burgers" completely saturated in grease, the fries were under cooked and only a few of the drinks worked in the machine. Was in Nashville for a concert, and just happened to look over and see there was a White Castle, we dont have any in Georgia so we decided to go to this location. Slow service, as it seemed the staff that was working was overwhelmed. Store was dirty as there was no one to take care of the tables and everything else inside. Drink station was out of everything, lids, straws, etc. Fortunately the saving grace was that the food was good! They had a homeless guy changing the trash and cleaning up the parking lot, I am assuming they must give him a meal or something for doing so. read more

After enjoying a drink at the Bearded Lily, I decided to stop and grab a few of the late night dining icon White Castle. I pulled into this location and found a clean establishment with a friendly staff. I placed my order to go and dined on the burgers that I have enjoyed since childhood. I had the burgers, plus one of the fish sandwiches. Back in the day, and I might be showing my age, but they used to have a surf and turf, two burgers, a fish pattie, and cheese. I was tempted to have them specially create one, but maybe next time. The meal brought a lot of fine memories. Of my grandfather taking me there as a little kid, of going with friends after a night out on the town, etc. Food is a way to connect with memories and this meal brought back some great memories. This location is where fast food restaurants come to die. Being from the West Coast where White Castle isn't a thing, so when we spotted it on the freeway exit, we figured that we would see what it was all about. Walking in, the restaurant was empty on a weekday afternoon, but the space was well-used none-the-less. The filth was so thick that my shoes felt like they were glued to the floor as I waited in front of the cash register. When I was finally acknowledged by an employee, the vibe was pretty much, "Fuck, I hate my life! What can I get you?" I ordered and figured I would wash my hands while we waited for the food, but the restroom had an unflushed toilet, stands on the walls, and paper scattered about the floor (we debated whether any of said paper had to skid marks, but no one wanted to get close enough to verify, so it remained inconclusive.) At any rate, my hands somehow felt even dirtier after washing them. When our food came out, I opened the bag and found that one of our sliders was missing its bun top and toppings. The fries were soggy and the 1921 sliders were terrible! The classic White Castle burgers and the ones with cheese weren't bad, but all in all I can't imagine ever coming back to any White Castle after this experience. There may very well be clean White Castle restaurants out there where employees take pride in the product and the experience that they provide, but I don't think I'm ever going to actually find out. My overall feeling as I left this restaurant was that this is the kind of place where crack addicts, homeless people, and drug dealers come to escape the heat and lay low and play cards for cigarettes. read more
