(Maybe Luther Burbank, whose historic home is nearby, might have donated items?!) We stumbled across this store perhaps a decade ago and found a wealth of cute discounted items, only a few of which we actually bought. (Don't have a large car!) One, e.g., was a coverlet with a very cute cat design; our cats still sleep on it. Somebody thought this was a claustrophobic place. Well, duh! You can't buy what's stuffed away in a storeroom and don't see. And each time my wife and I have visited we had to cull our armloads of "treasures" before getting to the cash register. Perhaps it's genetic. My late mom loved to shop these kinds of stores. She was a seamstress and costumer for the major NYC ballet companies and found lots of these stores around the country. With her eye for design and construction, she bought excellent blouses and skirts (etc.) that the dancers and staff loved; they demanded to know where the stores were. She told us she always felt abashed, thinking she'd be exposed as a tightwad (she saved her money to buy her kids presents!) so finally she came up with "Oh, it's just from my favorite boutique" and that seemed to defuse the demands for her to disclose. She'd have loved this thrift store even tho its clothing section isn't as large as, say, Goodwill's. Tomorrow we're going to Santa Rosa (we live in SF) and this shop of treasures is on the list, as it is on each of our visits to Santa Rosa. I almost feel saintly telling you: Go! Shop! Enjoy! We were aware that the employees keep a larger dog behind the counter, but no guidance or warnings were given about keeping small dogs away from that area. While our little white chihuahua was sniffing near the counter area, the larger dog pounced and caused bleeding on our dog's ear, likely from contact with its claw. When we informed the employees, there was no apology, and only afterward did they mention that they are unsure how their dog reacts around small dogs and that they sometimes keep her away. We asked for a napkin to help with the bleeding and were not assisted, though they did provide the code for the nearest restroom so we could clean her ear ourselves. With clearer communication upfront about their dog and guidance for customers with small pets, this situation may have been avoided.

They sell some home decor items (think candles, decorative cutting boards, throw pillows...), great for gifts!, women's clothing, and women's accessories. I went in recently in search of jeans. Many of their brands are smaller, local brands, which allows them to offer very reasonable prices! I didn't find jeans but am thinking about returning again soon for a few of the super soft and cozy Z Supply tops.
