My wife and I have been a patients for over 2 years now and I have not had a bad experience yet. I have had several crowns, fillings and many cleanings. All of their work is top notch and I have not had a single issue. I had a temporary crown pop off twice and they never hesitated to get me in as soon as possible to get it fixed. I find everyone there to be very friendly, accommodating, kind...etc. Plus their quality of work has always been excellent. They have the latest technology and use all the current methods to allow you to conduct business, reminders and reviews online. I noticed that some of the reviewers thought that Dr White was "condescending" or "arrogant." This has not been my experience at all. Far from it. Let me preface this by saying at one point in time Dr. White's dental practice was good (so much so that I was a patient there for over 10 years). Unfortunately, the quality of service has degraded to a point where I no longer feel that my dental needs are being appropriately taken care of. At my most recent visit, I was given a dental hygienist who clearly had no idea what she was doing. I was forced to hold the rinsing stick and rinse my own mouth throughout the cleaning, as she could not be bothered to take on this standard duty herself. This resulted in my clothes getting wet, as I could not hold the water pick at an appropriate angle from the prone position due to an issue with my shoulder. From there the hygienist proceeded to tell me that I had "severe" gum disease and that I would need to take further action to avoid losing my teeth. This was completely false and was being used as a means to try and upsell additional and unnecessary periodontal treatments. She then proceeded to dig at my gums to the point where they started bleeding. Because she would not provide proper cover for my clothes, I ended up with blood stains on my shirt. Dr. White spent less than 5 minutes with me looking at my x-rays before telling me that "everything looked good", further proof that the hygienist in question was not being truthful about the periodontal disease she claimed I had. After my appointment, I was presented with a bill. I asked the receptionist about the bill, as it appeared to be higher than my bill from 6 months ago. His response was a curt "no, it's the same". I asked to see the previous bill for comparison, but he refused to show it to me. I emailed Dr. White's office via her contact form to let her know that I would like to speak with her about my expience. I never received a response. Several weeks later, the office manager asked me about scheduling another appointment. I explained to her that the experience I had was awful and I would not be coming back. I further explained to her that right after my appointment, I sent an email asking to speak to Dr. White about this. She claimed she never received my email and then said "Well, ok. Sorry to see you go!". I then asked her to send me my dental records, to which she said I would need to fill out some forms. I waited for the forms. And waited. And waited. After six weeks, I then sent another email asking for my records. She said the forms were sent out and that I'd need to fill out the forms. I explained to her that I never received the forms and her response was simply forwarding me a message she claimed to have sent (which incidentally did not have any forms attached). Only when I showed up to the office in person was I actually given my medical records. Dr. White is clearly a competent dentist. Her equipment is top notch and her facilities are very nice. She has grown her practice quite a bit over the years, and unfortunately customer service has suffered. She has hired a support staff that is polite to you until you ask them to actually do something. Oh, and letting an extremely gassy bulldog roam around the office while people are trying to get their teeth cleaned is quite inappropriate. I love dogs, but having a large dog with constant gastric distress in a medical office is extremely unhygienic and unprofessional. read more

She did a filling somewhat poorly and then was so busy talking about herself to her assistants that she forgot to fix my mouth guard that I had brought in. I complained about pain to her front staff later, and I was told that I should wait and let the pain go away. The pain did go away: My tooth died and I had to have a root canal. The other reviewer described her as condescending -- I would have used the word arrogant. I generally like arrogant doctors/dentists as it can show confidence, but that was a mistake. Lesson learned. And don't be fooled by the convenient late hours -- you want a dentist who is awake and fresh. read more

Great practice, easy experience and way more reasonable prices than any dentist I've been to in Boulder. The dentist, assistants and hygienist I saw all explained what they were doing as they were working on me, which is a huge relief when you have a background of dentists that have made you uneasy :) The in-house insurance is a wonderful offering and makes regular cleanings and fillings affordable. What are you looking for out of a dentist? I will tell you what I am looking for: 1. Honest 2. Quality 3. Speed 4. Timeliness 5. Accurate So we recently switched to Dr. White after years of inconsistency where were going before and billing issue on top of that. We also had several friends that suggested Dr White was worth checking out, so we did, and here is how she and her office did on our 5 things. 1. Honest - I feel that information I have gotten has been very honest, and down to Earth. I have NEVER felt like I was being pushed or rushed into anything. I have been told where I was at, what I could have don't, what I don't need to have done and what I should think about having done. I really like that approach. 2. Quality - I really haven't had any major incidents since we have joined there, but my wife has had some stuff done and she is very happy with it. 3. Speed - I have spent less time in this office in two visits that I normally do at other places in one. Not that they are slacking in any area, there is just no down time. Waiting for your appointment, waiting for a technician, waiting for the dentist, etc. None of that, just constant work and you are out. I really like that too, they all seem nice and all, but really who wants to spend extra time at the dentist 4. Timeliness - This really for me goes to the start of your appointment. If have a 1:00 appointment and I am there at 1:00, I want to be called in no latter than 1:01. This place does that. I never spend time in the waiting room. 5. Accurate - Take my insurance info, know what I need to pay on top of that, and lets be done with it. That is what happens here, that is what should happen, and that is what didn't happen at my last place. I am happy here, never thought I would say I am happy with my Dentist, but I am. Also, apparently there are movies to watch too if you want, though I have never done that, I am usually on a podcast. Check this place out if you are looking for a dentist, but not too many of you, for if it gets too packed and hard for me to get appointments, this review goes to a 1 star to keep you all away. read more

I have been going to Dr. White for 4 years. Her office is modern and comfortable. All of her staff have been genuinely friendly and personable. Dr. White's office runs efficiently and timely. I was running early last time (maybe 20-30 min) and settled in for a wait in the front. They had me in a chair and getting started 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment - who does that? Dr. White is knows what she is talking about and takes the time to listen, as well as answer questions. I have a tongue ring, and have had dentists in the past refuse to even have a conversation with me. Dr. White isn't keen on it, but we discuss it like adults and I very much appreciate the opportunity to make informed decisions afterwards. I'll be with Dr. White until she retires, or I run out of teeth! :) She's awesome! read more

Nobody likes going to the dentist, but White & Pool make it as pleasant as possible. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Dr. White is knowledgeable and efficient. I have not had any issues with any dental work that I've had done here. When I had a filling that felt a little "high" when chewing, they got me in the same day to have it filed down. Great service. They offer and in house insurance plan if you don't have dental insurance, which has some nice benefits as well. I've always been able to make appointments that worked with my schedule. And, I've been able to reschedule when necessary without any issues. They have automated reminders that notify you of upcoming appointments with plenty of advance notice in case you need to make childcare arrangements or work arrangements. I can't say enough great things about this office. I had the pleasure of spending time with Dr. Pool for my first visit. As I arrived they were so welcoming and it's such a relaxed environment. Dr. Pool is absolutely the best. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else since meeting her. She is so easy to talk to and the appointment was relaxed and just what I have been looking for. I have had many horrifying cleanings in the past. Pain, anxiety, uncomfortableness. This is not a "get in and get out" kind of place. They truly care about you and what's best for you. Behind Dr. Pool the best part of the office is Heather Carpenter. She is an absolute gem and a great find for the office. The doctor delivers seriously flawed restorations. Every time she performs a treatment, there is an obvious and significant problem with the work. When the problem is mentioned to her, she becomes defensive and acts like the patient is at fault for the issue. She also has a very terse and unpleasant disposition. Ok so I've been going here for the past few years and typically really like it, so I don't really want to knock it on stars, but I am hoping the office sees this as some constructive criticism. I just got done getting a filling in my back tooth. Bit of back story on me... I suffer from a panic disorder. And not the general anxiety, I'm talking the kind of panic that requires the occasional usage of heavy drugs to keep me from ending up in the hospital type of panic. I imagine dentist offices are typically used to people being apprehensive about being there, and generally I do ok for as much as I hate being there. But today it felt like by the end I personally offended everybody there. Now maybe they were just overly busy and stressed out and I'm over reacting, but everyone seemed pretty cheery when we first started. I got numbed as expected, and required some extra numbing because after the dentist started drilling it didn't necessarily hurt but it certainly felt like the nerve in the tooth was getting shocked. This feeling continued after like the 3rd injection but wasn't quite as bad so I was able to sit still and just figured I was being a baby because my lip and tongue were both pretty numb. Fast forward to the hygienist filling and grinding the tooth. When she started grinding my brain went into "F you" mode and decided to start thinking about what would happen if my tongue decided to be an a**hole and jump in the way of her grinding tool. I immediately start to fidget as I'm trying to convince my brain and my tongue NOT to do this. Hygienist stops and asks if it hurts. I shake my head no and give her a thumbs up to proceed. She goes on and my brain goes back to being a jerk about my tongue. I fidget again. Hygienist gets frustrated and pulls the thing holding my mouth open out and says "what's the problem? Are you in pain? Or just nervous?" So I say "just nervous, I keep worrying about my tongue" and she repeatedly says "don't worry about it, I'm holding your tongue". Afterwards she seemed completely pissed, as if I had insulted her somehow. I'm not sure that was the case but I'm here to say I wasnt trying to offend you or make you feel like you don't do good work, just that I was mentally suffering. I know by fidgeting I probably wasn't making it very easy to do your job, but I literally was not trying to be a pain. So here's where the advice comes in... next time instead of telling me not to worry about it, say something like "I'll be holding your tongue the whole time, but I want you to be comfortable. Do you need a minute?" I know I gave her the thumbs up and she did tell me to breath through my nose, but I guess I'm a little more shook up that it seems like I made her mad when I seriously wasnt trying to and then of course my anxiety didn't help that. Another bit of advice I guess is please try and suck the spit out of my throat a little more often. I feel like I had to swallow way more filling stuff than what would be considered healthy but when my throat is full of stuff I have no good way of telling you that. I didn't realize just how comfortable I had gotten with my normal hygienist until she was out and how weird it was without her, but I really hope this was just an off kind of day, because if I have to go through that again I'm going to have to find a different dentist :( read more

The one star is because the receptionist is very friendly and the office is new. The dentist is horrible. She completely ruined my teeth. I have since found a new dentist and had to have the 4 fillings that she did all re-done. One of them needed a root canal and crown. I wasted so much money and time on this, not to mention that I have been in pain for the better part of a year because of it. I would strongly advise against going here. Gorgeous office but....I had an emergency with significant pain and she was totally worthless. I would not recommend her at all.

Have had two fillings fall out only several months after treatment, one after only a week. Temp filling for first one was done without anesthetic, without prior warning of this fact (Doc was out of town, assistant apparently not qualified to use anesthetic without her oversight- would've been great to know before they're holding you down in the chair screaming). Left with a fear of getting dental work done, never had any anxiety before. Wouldn't come back even to have them fix their own shoddy work. read more
