I should have taken the time to read some of the past reviews before engaging with Whitby Toyota. Unfortunately, my experience only confirmed what others described regarding that location, including a troubling lack of professionalism, not to mention basic courtesy. My partner and I had made specific arrangements with Allam Bachir regarding a new vehicle purchase. Yet when we showed up as scheduled, we were told they would not honour the agreement we had made the previous day. When the Sales Director, Richard Alam, was contacted, he simply confirmed that decision in a dismissive, unapologetic way ... and walked away ! This kind of attitude, not only from the team who had misled us and proceeded with lying to our faces, but also from their management, is simply unacceptable. Thankfully in our case, this occurred early enough in the process that we had not yet committed to anything. Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Customer services are not even close to what you can expect from international brand. They are very unpredictable and never believe what they say. Every visit you will get new date but approximate one, mine, four month, six months, eight months and now I was told next year. Zero update provided. They know people are Toyota addicted and Toyota guys use it very well against customers. We have no options they don't give a shit. read more

A few months ago, I went to Whitby Toyota dealership for regular service, the technicians there decided that the brakes need to be replaced and I was OK with that, they replaced them for $1200. Today I was thinking it is time for another service, to change the oil and also to buy new winter tires, when I looked at the tires to read the numbers on them, I found that one of the tire rims had been replaced with another one which is very old, has a rust everywhere and looks very different, I didn't go anywhere and I am sure it was replaced in Whitby Toyota dealership which is considered as a very dishonest act. I will never go to this dealership again and I don't recommend it to anyone, I really can't believe that they did something like that, anyone looks at the photos will realize the difference. read more

- RAV4 XSE purchased in May of 2019, told 3 month wait - received it in March 2020; 10 months later. ZERO updates were provided. - Purchased winter tire package from the dealership when I finally picked up my car - Picked up my RAV on March 9, 2020; Winter tires were in the back - When I got home my Husband loaded wrapped tires into my garage for storage for use in Winter 2020 - Received a call from the service department that they gave me the wrong tires. Service Manager was going to bring the right ones himself and exchange them at my home. - Said Service Manager came to my house to do the exchange after closing in his personal vehicle - I blew a tire at the end of last season. - Husband took tire to tire shop to have it replaced last month. Informed the tire is discontinued and the tires are from 2017. Here's the thing: - I was sold OLD tires - winter tires have an 8 year life before they start to deteriorate. - Warranty is only 5 years so I've used them one season and have 1 more year - Essentially being called a liar when trying to work with Toyota to rectify the issue - Since the tire is discontinued I need to purchase ALL new tires because I have an all-wheel drive that requires matching tires. They have been used ONE season and I paid over $2,000.00. - Bill of sale reflects completely different tires than what I was given. Says I bought Michelin X-Ice and I have 235 60 17 Michelin Latitude Ice. - We are being told there is nothing that can be done since it was so long ago. Why would we check the date code on brand new tires sold to us by our dealership? I won't trust a dealership ever again. - I am waiting on a call log from March 2020 to prove that this guy called me to exchange my tires. In short the service department completely ripped me off, likely because I'm a woman and we are basically told 'too bad'. Absolutely amazing dealership! Management, sales, parts and service. Even the owner! We have two Toyota's now and I wouldn't think of taking them anywhere but Whitby... And we're in Zephyr, so Newmarket is much closer. Huge shout outs to Miles, Gary, Steve and Jon. But seriously, anyone you deal with will treat you with a smile and a heap of respect. Bought an '09 RX350 through Sam- he was great asked good questions really listened to our needs and put us in the right car. When we came back with an issue they stood behind the car and went the distance to make sure it was fixed. It wasn't an easy job. In my experience most dealers wouldn't have been that committed to the customer or their product. Highly recommend Whitby Toyota. Sales and service is the best I have ever seen. My experience here was not great and would never recommend their service department. Our vehicle was not inspected properly during a full service and oil change before a long weekend. I found their service manager unapologetic for their error and he made no effort to take responsibility for his mechanic's carelessness. I escalated to the operations manager and still wasn't entirely impressed although he did throw in two free services for potentially blowing up my engine neither seemed concerned of the potential safety issues that could have happened. My family's vehicles are both Toyotas and purchased brand new from their local dealership. I assume taking the car back to the dealership allows more knowledge and care of these cars for someone to respond :...the guys get tired...mistakes happen... is not taking responsibility for their actions. If I use a Toyota Dealership Service and pay a little more I expect a quality service that re-checks their work so accidents don't happen. Toyota Canada doesn't regulate the service departments for the independently owned dealerships they did take my complaint but it will make me question the purchase of another Toyota vehicles read more

I have decided to upgrade my rating of Whitby Toyota to four stars, as this more accurately reflects my overall level of satisfaction with this dealership over the last several years of regularly taking my Toyota to them for service, whereas my previous rating reflected my impression in the moment that I was frustrated with being late for work due to decisions made by the business, described in the previous review. Came here at 11 : 45 to install a mirror glass took them 3 and half hours . when I come to front disk ,they are telling me my phone number is not working , and the lady who collect my payment, the worst customer services ever , rude I would't thought this place would be that unprofessional. even we purchased 3 brand new car. poor customer service and rip off I will never recommend this to any . read more

What a frustrating day, especially in this heat. We called Whitby Toyota to ask about a car this was at 9am this morning, its 3 pm still no call back. We decided we liked vehicle enough to drive down there, stood beside car for maybe 10 minutes in sweltering heat waiting for sales person. Finally a lot man, cleaning cars, went to get sales help. Another 20 minutes standing in heat, no sales people. Finally sales person comes, gets into car right beside us. I ask how may hours are we expected to wait for sales help in this heat, he says oh he will send someone right away, again we wait! After another 10 minutes, we drive up to the sales office, can't find a soul. Receptionist knew nothing, we finally left. There is a sign saying no honking, I think the reason for this is you cannot get sales help here. Make a customer feel they need to beg you to purchase a vehicle. NO THANKS!! Go somewhere else people I can only imagine if you had a problem how you would be treated. read more

I had an amazing 5 star experience today @ Whitby Toyota! I bought a brand new Toyota Camry SE there around spring time and today was my first oil change. My sales rep pre-booked my appointment for me so I didn't even have to call. I parked my car just outside the bay and the gentleman immediately brought my car in the garage without any waiting or hassle. I went inside the service lounge, made a coffee and there were Tim Horton's muffins for breakfast as well! Watched a little TV, before I knew it I was done! These guys are first class from the moment I bought my car right to service...way to go guys & thanks for an amazing experience!! read more
