We recently had two service visits at Midway Nissan for our 2017 Nissan Rogue, and unfortunately,…read morewe left feeling disappointed and unsure whether we can continue trusting this dealership for service. We have been bringing our vehicle to Midway Nissan since we bought it, so this is especially disappointing. Over time, it has started to feel like every visit leads to more recommended work and a much larger bill than expected. Because of that, we now feel uncomfortable and unsure whether we are receiving fair value and clear guidance each time we come in. On May 22, 2026, we brought the vehicle in for a tire swap, but the final bill ended up being $1,705.98 after several additional services were added, including brake service, brake fluid flush, fuel induction/throttle service, alignment, rear wiper blade, and right outer tie rod end replacement. Less than three weeks later, on June 10, 2026, we brought the vehicle back because we noticed a scraping sound near the rear wheel and had concerns about acceleration. We understand that new issues can happen with any vehicle, especially an older one. However, what bothered us was the timing. After paying for a major service visit on May 22, it was frustrating to return so soon and be presented with more costs and recommended work. For the most recent visit, we paid $532.99, and we were told there is still a pre-ordered part that needs to be installed, which means we will have to return and may have to pay another fee. We were also given additional recommendations, including spark plug service and valve cover gasket-related work. What concerns us most is that on the May 22 inspection, the brakes were checked and recorded, but on the June 10 inspection, the brake section says "Not Checked This Visit," even though our complaint involved a scraping sound near the rear wheel. That does not give us confidence that the vehicle was inspected as thoroughly as it should have been. We are not mechanics, and we do not have professional experience with car repairs. Although we own a vehicle, that does not mean we know every detail about what is happening under the car or what repairs are truly necessary when a problem comes up. As customers, we need to be told what is urgent, what can wait, and why certain problems were not noticed during a recent service. Without that clear explanation, it becomes difficult to feel confident or trust the recommendations, especially when each visit seems to result in more work and a bigger bill. We understand that vehicles need repairs and maintenance, especially as they get older. However, based on these experiences, we were left feeling uncomfortable, unsure, and not fully confident in the service recommendations. Because of this, we are seriously considering taking our vehicle to an independent mechanic for second opinions going forward.

I have had a couple of visits to this dealership and did face poor customer service…read more They don't explain enough why the fix is required or impact of not getting it done. They don't even pull the history of the car maintenance done by other Nissan dealers. It's just that I don't have any other option of since Nissan Whitby and Nissan Ajax is the owner by the same set of management. In the past I used to visit Nissan Scarborough and they great and very customer oriented. I have a Nissan Pathfinder with factory warranty and it is such a big deal for Nissan Whitby guys to claim the fix under warranty. Nissan Scarborough was too good for that.

The sales agent will say anything to make the sale, being dishonest about features the car may or may not have or claiming they don't sell a certain brand of winter tire in order to make the bonus sale for pushing a particular brand. When it comes to servicing, despite making an appointment for a specific time, they have no intention of actually servicing your car then. No, this is just an appointment to "drop off" your car, and they'll get round to it sometime during the day when it suits them. Be prepared to wait for many hours for what should be a simple and quick service. When you complain, the salesmen promise to make things right, until it actually comes to making it right. Then they deny ever offering to help you and will reluctantly let you speak with a manager. A manager that will either tell you he can't do anything, or to take your complaint to GM head office. If you do take you complaint to GM, they refuse to help you saying you have to speak with the dealership. We've had nothing but dishonest and disrespectful treatment from Ontario Motor Sales, and consequently will never buy from them again.

I saw (Phillip) write down in many places on a few different sheets of a work order that I did not want any shampooing. They were wonderful to work with and I appreciate their integrity and honesty. I know that one should be able to expect honesty but it's hard to find in the car business - particularly in the service department. All in all, I'm very pleased with the service department at Ontario Hyundai. Thank you Richard Barnes (Service Manager) and Phillip Amshad (Service Advisor) for providing such awesome service to me!

They stated that I needed new tires, brakes, pads, and rotors. I paid to get all my issues fixed which came to just over 2 grand. Not even 3 weeks later, when driving, I started to smell burnt rubber. I pulled over and noticed that my back left tire was smoking, and my plastic hubcap was even starting to burn. I already had an appointmwnt with Big Bens Auto for an oil change, so I asked him to take a look. He stated that though the brakes and rotors were done, my caliper had not been replaced and it had now seized the the point that it was overheating. I was terrified my tire was going to blow due to the heat. I called the service desk at hyundai and was told I would reviece a callback by the end of the day. By the end of the day, I still had not received a call, so my friend called them again. This time, we were transferred to the answering machine of the employee that was in charge of fixing my car, where my friend proceeded to leave a message about our experience and the terrible job done to my car, demanding a callback. They never did. Life gets busy and I did forget to follow up again, but when it seized for the 2nd time while driving, I knew something had to be done. Because I had gotten nowhere with hyundai, I decided to take my car back to Big Bens Auto. He took a video documenting that my brakes on the driver side had overheated so much, the pads were melted and white. He replaced my brakes and caliper, and I ended up paying another $776. I had him do up an invoice, send me the videos, and I took them to hyundai to get a refund. They told me because I took it somewhere else, that they would not help me out in anyway. I told them that I had tried to call, never got an answer back, and that I was terrified something would happen and needed to get it fixed ASAP. That if they hadn't done the terrible job in the first place, I would not be in this situation, and because I have my young child in the car, for hers and my own safety, it shouldn't matter where I took it, as long as it got fixed. They took the invoice from Big Bens Auto and viewed the video. I was then told that they would have to take it up to their boss, and I would receive a call back in max 2 days time or less. I did receive a call back by end of day and all they told me was, "nope, sorry, we will not do anything at all for you." I have heard a couple people tell me how terrible this dealership is, and now I have experienced it first hand. I will not be returning, and will make sure that those closest to me do not take their business to them, unless they want a below par job done, and to have their safety risked by shotty workmanship.

The commutation between me and Blair was basically non existent. I had to check in with him every now and then to get any updates. So in the end I settled on a truck that had a few more options then I was looking for. The truck finally showed up and they were getting it prepared for pickup. The day I picked it up came and I was a little excited. Went in to sign the papers and that's when I noticed they didn't listen to how I wanted it done. I said I wanted the loan in my name with my wife as the co-signer. That didn't happen, my wife was first on the loan. I also wanted to make sure the Truck itself was in my name but low and behold it was registered under my wife's name. Now I need to fine time to get the truck transferred to my name and probably pay a fee along with it. All the emails and texts I get from GM and Gus Brown is addressed to my wife. I decided to let it go as I didn't want to wait any longer for them to fix everything. And the last thing was when all the papers were signed and we were out doing the walk around before I took possession of the truck I noticed the gas tank wasn't full. It was a little under 3/4 of a tank. I asked Blair about it and all he said was he had a budget for filling the vehicles up and he wasn't authorized to go over said budget to fill it. We pay enough for these vehicles to begin with. It would be nice to pick it up with a full tank of gas. And the gas prices were considerably lower then what they are now. With all that said I would NOT recommend Gus Brown to anyone. I've already decided I'm done with this place and they will never see this Truck in their service department. My wife also bought a little Chevy Spark at the Nurse Dealership just down the road from Gus Brown a few months before I got my truck, and the experience was so much better. I'm considering taking my Canyon to their service department for any and all warranty and service I may need. Also, if you have a kid with you like we did. Make sure to bring something with you to keep them occupied. As they don't go out of their way to engage with the kids. Unlike the Nurse dealership which they offered my kid snacks and wifi for her iPad to keep her occupied. It's the little things that help make a good experience. If your reading this review and looking to buy a GMC I would recommend looking into another GMC dealer as they are not very professional and don't go out of their way to make it a positive experience.

Gus Brown Buick GMC Ltd. - Whitby, GMC and GMC Canada…read more Officially calling out GMC located in Whitby. We bought a brand new GMC Terrain a few years ago and have had problems with it since day one. The first incident occurred when I was driving down Thickson rd and the car put itself in park. We were told it was the gear control panel buttons that came back with an error code needing to be replaced. After that came the issue of me turning the car off when it was parked and the middle console staying on. I could literally still hear my music after locking and walking away. I have had people come into work to let me know that my car is still on in the parking lot. I was told by gm in Whitby that it was happening because of the sensor in the door and to just allow it to time out (eventually causing my battery to die). They replaced the sensor part after putting up a fight. After that we have had continuous problems. The middle console malfunctions regularly turning on and off. Not syncing with volume controls or ac control. I have also now had the transmission light and warning several times now. I brought it back and was told the error is the same part that was replaced in the first visit. (Which btw they replaced it with a part from a car in the parking lot the first time and did not save any records or documentation of them doing that). We ordered the part and took the car home. Allowing them once again to try and fix the problem. Weeks later they called it in to be replaced. My mother went to pick up the car and my whole ac unit was broken. Apparently I am super man and somehow punched in my whole AC unit with my super strength? None of the buttons work. They refused to take responsibility and refuse to fix it. They claim it was brought in like this. But for some reason they never called to offer to fix it or even mentioned it upon pick up. My mom noticed it.....everything you read above isn't even the full extent of the headache this car has caused. Every fix was an argument or fight to get fixed or to even speak with someone higher up. We were offered pennies to return the car and given 1000 towards a brand new vehicle meaning we would have to take the loss for this poorly made car. We have been bounced around from person to person including head office and the actual dealership. I am at a loss on what to do and now that the damage is more than just an inconvenience PS DO NOT BUY FROM GMC WHITBY (the car we purchased was a brand new GMC Terrain)
