I've been to this location a number of times and its now the only place I'll take my vehicle! As a…read morefirst-time car owner, I don't really know a lot about cars and I'm wary of taking my car just anywhere in case I get scammed or someone over charges me or something. So, when my car needed service done, I took it into Gus Brown. I've since returned many times for various types of service. Sergio, Dave and everyone in the service area are fantastic. Most recently, I took my car in because something was corroded in my headlight. Dave called me with pricing and told me it would be around $400 to replace.... BUT, he had found a replacement part in their service area and he only charged me for labor! So instead of spending $400 to put a brand new part into a 8 year old car, he was able to swap it out with an existing part he had and saved me a lot of money! This isn't a one time thing either - they're always doing their best to save me money wherever possible. If they can find a way to bill it so its a bit cheaper on my end they will. Anytime something needs to be done, they call me and break down exactly what needs to be done and WHY, what needs to be replaced, what can wait til next time and what needs to be done urgently. They always have a dollar figure for me and I almost always pay less than what they quote over the phone. You cannot go wrong with Gus Brown - this is really a great dealership, wonderful people and the service centre is fantastic. Don't hesitate to take your car in, they'll fix your car right up!!

I purchased an 2022 GMC Canyon AT4 back in October. It took my salesman Blair 8 weeks to fine me a…read moretruck. Which I totally understand as that's around when the shortages began. The commutation between me and Blair was basically non existent. I had to check in with him every now and then to get any updates. So in the end I settled on a truck that had a few more options then I was looking for. The truck finally showed up and they were getting it prepared for pickup. The day I picked it up came and I was a little excited. Went in to sign the papers and that's when I noticed they didn't listen to how I wanted it done. I said I wanted the loan in my name with my wife as the co-signer. That didn't happen, my wife was first on the loan. I also wanted to make sure the Truck itself was in my name but low and behold it was registered under my wife's name. Now I need to fine time to get the truck transferred to my name and probably pay a fee along with it. All the emails and texts I get from GM and Gus Brown is addressed to my wife. I decided to let it go as I didn't want to wait any longer for them to fix everything. And the last thing was when all the papers were signed and we were out doing the walk around before I took possession of the truck I noticed the gas tank wasn't full. It was a little under 3/4 of a tank. I asked Blair about it and all he said was he had a budget for filling the vehicles up and he wasn't authorized to go over said budget to fill it. We pay enough for these vehicles to begin with. It would be nice to pick it up with a full tank of gas. And the gas prices were considerably lower then what they are now. With all that said I would NOT recommend Gus Brown to anyone. I've already decided I'm done with this place and they will never see this Truck in their service department. My wife also bought a little Chevy Spark at the Nurse Dealership just down the road from Gus Brown a few months before I got my truck, and the experience was so much better. I'm considering taking my Canyon to their service department for any and all warranty and service I may need. Also, if you have a kid with you like we did. Make sure to bring something with you to keep them occupied. As they don't go out of their way to engage with the kids. Unlike the Nurse dealership which they offered my kid snacks and wifi for her iPad to keep her occupied. It's the little things that help make a good experience. If your reading this review and looking to buy a GMC I would recommend looking into another GMC dealer as they are not very professional and don't go out of their way to make it a positive experience.

Countryside Motors - Anthony I have no clue what you are talking about, my family and I have bought 6 car's from Ryen over the past 10 years

After about 3 weeks of calling, texting and emailing the sales rep Ryen, who I have learned has had many other complaints and bad reviews written about him through his "newride.ca" brand but who cares right? Just close down and re open a new location is how he's survived until now. To comment on our experience, I will say that when we couldn't locate our sales rep or vehicle that we purchased, we felt very uneasy so we backed out of the deal. As soon as that email was sent to Ryen, we received, a greedy, testosterone driven, screaming mad man surface after all that time with no explanation, just threats that we HAVE to complete the deal regardless of our bad feeling, he threatened with lawyers and bad credit ratings and had my girlfriend crying every day for two months until our lawyer was able to assist with the reversal of the contract which wasn't cheap. As a matter of fact, when I see a car with his companies licence place frame on it I ask about him and absolutely 100% of the time, I hear that once the sale is complete you're history! If you don't take this reviews advice. I had to give this business 1/5 but if I could have selected '0', I would have! I will leave you with these wise words, if you get fooled, it's your own fault! Avoid this place like like no tomorrow.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for building, or being the final assembly point for, my last…read moretwo vehicles. And for almost 20 years of reliable motoring up and down the West Coast, from the lower mainland of British Columbia to the Mexican border, where one's standard insurance does not apply should they cross, and many points in between. Few things are as maddening as driving around my native California, and the West Coast in general, and seeing how many people are still passing up on the opportunity to buy a much improved domestic vehicle, either because "once bitten, twice shy" or because it's not cool. Well, in some cases, I can see why. A coworker once told me that his dad bought a Cadillac in the '80s with the V8-6-4 engine in which the unneeded cylinders would not fire, thus saving gas. Since the car never ran quite right, his dad traded it in and swore off American cars. But, back to GM of Canada Oshawa Assembly Plant, it's not just me. The Oshawa Assembly Plant, in an eastern suburb of greater Toronto, has won accolades for its quality control. They were assigned building GM's venerable long-lived W-body, meaning LaCrosses, Intrigues, Grand Prixs, and Impalas/Monte Carlos, for 4 divisions of General Motors. These rigs ran on platforms that were time tested, with engines and transmissions that went unchanged for years and had thus proven themselves. Consumer Reports and the "dot" rating system also loved the two makes/models/years I owned as well, giving them the "much better than average" dot for most of the cars' systems. Ah yes, the good old days when, in now import crazed SoCal, there was enough consumption of GM vehicles to have stand-alone Pontiac and Oldsmobile dealerships. Today, Pontiac and Oldsmobile no longer exist. Ok, fine - you're cool in your foreign vehicle, and I'm a "cradle to grave" General Motors geek and aficionado. And what they've built for me at GM of Canada - Oshawa is part of the reason why.

I brought my 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe to the dealership in late April for cleaning and to have the rear…read morepassenger seat repaired under warranty because it would not fold down. During the inspection, technicians discovered a knocking noise coming from the engine. I was subsequently informed that, due to a manufacturing defect covered by a recall, the vehicle required a complete engine replacement. At the time, my Tahoe had only approximately 7,000 kilometres on it. I was initially advised that the repair would take two to three days and that the required part would arrive within five to seven days. Instead, I was without my vehicle for nearly a month. Although GM provided a rental vehicle, it was too small to meet my needs, forcing me to reschedule plans and causing considerable inconvenience. I want to acknowledge that I was satisfied with how the dealership and repair shop managed the repair itself. My dissatisfaction concerns GM's response afterward. GM initially maintained that no compensation was warranted because a rental vehicle had been provided. I was later offered only $250 toward GM products or services, along with an oil change. This offer is extremely disappointing and wholly inadequate given the circumstances. My nearly new 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe required a complete engine replacement after only approximately 7,000 kilometres, and I was without it for almost a month. The experience has also left me with serious concerns about the vehicle's long-term reliability and value. A rental vehicle was necessary while my Tahoe underwent a major warranty repair; it should not be characterized as compensation. Moreover, because the rental was too small for my needs, it did not fully mitigate the disruption caused by the extended repair. I remain deeply dissatisfied with GM's proposed resolution and will continue to escalate this matter. Given the seriousness of the manufacturing defect, the length of time I was without my vehicle, the disruption I experienced, and my ongoing concerns about reliability, I expected a substantially more reasonable and customer-focused response from GM.
