This place is a gem! Because of its location, it could be easily missed. I'm so glad finding this…read moreplace. The staff are supper friendly and knowledgeable of their product. I was shopping for a helmet and literally went to every single store in the village and couldn't find one XL helmet until this place. They had a hand full of different helmets in XL, tried all of them but unfortunately none of them fit well. One helmet came close (Smith's Mission) but it was still pinching on the sides. I just want to point out that the staff person was very patient with me and really took her time to help. And I didn't feel any pressure to purchase that helmet. So I left. and went on to other stores to try my luck. Later that day, decided to come back to Sportstop to try that helmet again. Staff was still very nice! Still very patient! Tried all those helmets again. But still I was unsure about that pinching helmet. I thought about purchasing it but modify it when I get home, she actually talked me out of it. That's nice of her. She also told me to look into the Smith's Asian Fit helmet which might work. So I left. Then later in the evening, I decided to go back for the third time! This time I decided to purchase a goggle. I really could've gone to other store but since they were so nice, I decided to buy it there. I got my Oakley's Flight Deck Asian Fit Goggle!!! (which is hard to find in store!) Management/Owner, you've done a great job hiring and training your staff! Y'all are world class people at a world class ski resort!

It's very evident that these men care deeply both for the sport and for their clientele. I was beyond impressed with the service I received and the accommodations provided. I am happily returning to Whistler in the future and visiting these men again, and hope their superiors acknowledge their great work. Thanks guys!!!

Best service ever in any kind of store! Jane helped got me into the right skis and bindings I had…read moreproblems and challenges - she made this work and the other staff followed through. I told Jane that I ad tested Volkl Secret skis, loved them, but did not quite have the strength to get the best performance out of them. She suggested I demo Kenja, a slightly smaller more piste oriented version of the Secret. (CanSki does not stock Kenjas) She rented them to me for half price, as I was just skiing in the afternoon. They were perfect - so I purchased new ones. She applied the rental charge to the purchase price and also gave me a discount. I purchased Marker Squire bindings, which widely recommended for these skis. On the slopes, I had some difficulty stepping into the bindings - especially with my left leg. I managed for a few days - until one day I just could not step in with enough force to get the binding to secure my ski. Fortunately, I was at the bottom of the lift, right by the store, and very fortunately, Jane was in that day. I thought the bindings needed adjusting, or worst case perhaps they were defective. She had a technician look at them and make an adjustment. She also told me call her later or come back the next day. My husband insisted on going to CanSki for a second opinion, because he has had great service there. The technician said the bindings were fine, but other people have the same problem. btw, I am a little old lady and not very strong (I have been skiing for more than half a century). So the problem, in a sense, was me, not the bindings. They were more than I could handle. The next day, after consulting with others, Jane concluded I would do better in a Solomon binding, and recommended the kind that was on the rental skis I used. She offered to swap the bindings for no charge. I protested that I do not like to have an extra set of holes in my skis, even if the holes are filled - so she gave me a brand new pair of skis with the Solomon bindings. This store has my loyalty. Never again will I even think of purchasing skis on-line. I would have been lost without this over-the-top service. I hope my husband will soon purchase new skis from Excess Ski and Sport.
