Mostly because I saw someone else with them, and I wondered why I didn't have them also. So being that I'm at Whistler, I'm going to Can-Ski. Mindful that there are like 5 locations, they share some inventory, and they are all owned by Whistler-Blackcomb Resorts, so you may have to visit a different location in the village. Honestly, you are paying Whistler pricing for everything in here, but if you need something, they have plenty of things to keep you on the lifts, and flying down the slopes. read more

I bought a pair of poles here and after two days on the hill they bent after simply pole planting. I took them back to the store to see what they could do (potentially just straighten them) and an employee there Carl proceeded to get into an argument with me regarding how the pole had bent. He went on to accuse me of lying which was completely irrelevant and finally offered to straighten the pole after letting me know what a favor he would be doing to me. The interaction was so uncomfortable that another employee called a different employee to try and get help from someone else and apologized for his behavior repeatedly. read more

If you can afford it, Can-Ski has the best of the best. This location in particular has a much better selection and more knowledgeable staff as well. Also this is one of two stores in Whistler that I know of where you can find Sorel winter boots. Been looking for a $999 ski jacket? Can-Ski's got it. They sell all those high end brands that I love browsing through but can't afford - Descante, Spyder, etc. I wouldn't come here to find your steezey park rat outfit, but if you're going for that posh look, they will get you styled. Do not take advice from "equipment expert" Carl at the Can-Ski Marketplace. He's not knowledgable about the products. In addition, he talks to customers in a very condescending/undermining tone to belittle them. I personally had encountered this with a pair of poles that had bent after 2 days of use. Instead of putting the concerns of the product/customer first, he accused me of misuse. I returned later that day and heard him talking to another customer the same way. I was renting skis and boards for a bunch of us for the weekend.. beside the great and speedy initial service at Creek side location, couple of us got sick and they refunded the unused portion of the the time of those gears. FANTASTIC customer service at this location friendly courteous service. I can recommend them without a doubt. read more

Up from the states and bought a Newland full zipper jacket. Got it home and the zipper was defective. Called the store and they told we they would get back to me on filing a warranty....still waiting...the managers are on a ski trip. Was up skiing in Whistler Jan 17 through Jan 22 and rented skis and boots from Can-Ski at Creekside. The boots killed my feet which I indicated to the fitting staff. They couldn't have cared less and provided little options or intelligible insight. I tried on various boots and decided on a set to ski in. My first day out, on the gondola on the way up, was pure torture. I tried skiing for a couple of hours, but all I wanted to do was get out of these terrible boots which were sore on my ankles and the outside of my feet. Before my next outing, I went back to Can-Ski to explain the pain: outlined the fact I had flat foot and pronated, that my ankles were in pain in the boot and that the outside of my feet became incredibly sore. They were unable to offer any insight and just had me try different sizes of boots without offering any help whatsoever. I skied the final 2 days in pain which it tragic as I grew up skiing and had never had these problems before. (I am older now, so I do expect there to be changes in my feet, etc.). The tragedy is that after returning to New York, my wife found tons of information around boot fitting as well as how poorly fitted boots could cause incredible pain and ruin a ski vacation. As Can-Ski is supposedly the expert and provides thousands of customers with rentals every year, I expected a more professionally trained staff to ensure my rental experience went well. This was clearly not the case, and I'm disgusted that they had no knowledge of how to help fit my foot for a rental and that the results of these rentals ruined my skiing experience. read more

After arriving at Whistler I realized my ski boots were in need of replacement or at a minimum new liners. We made our way to Can-ski (Whistler Creekside) and I got a new pair of Atomics. My next run was agony as my feet cramped relentlessly... so back to Can-Ski we went and fortunately we found Patrick. Patrick is one of those unique fitters that understands foot/boot dynamics like few others. He reshaped the shell to better allow for my big calves and he added heel lifts to get my heel back in the pocket and my crushed toes away from the end of the toe box. I gave my traumatized feet the rest of the day off but the next time we hit the slopes I had my mojo back. Five stars for Patrick! Can Ski was really great and super helpful with a pair of fun demo skis for me. I ended up getting injured on my trip and they went out of their way to help me, refunded my rental cost and were really nice and friendly. They have knowledgeable staff about a variety of gear. Can-Ski --- Great Customer Service! I have to close off my ski trip to Canada with a big thank you to Mark of Can-Ski. I had some binding release issues with my skiis and asked someone who worked on the mountain for a place he would recommend. He told me he goes to Can-Ski for all of his work. Well, I did find my way over to Can-Ski and found a wonderful person in the store who helped me. He was Mark, a manager. Although Can-Ski did not have the equipment to calibrate bindings, Mark gave me excellent customer service by phoning a store in Whistler Village to see if they calibrated bindings (Summit Sport, near Whistler Kids). He confirmed that they had the equipment and he even walked me over there. Well, thank you, Can-Ski and thank you, Mark. I know I would not have resolved my problem without some help from you. PS I did notice that you do have some top-end, top quality apparel...and so, yes, you will see me in your store again. read more

Came up from the states, ran into Carl at random. Since I needed ski boots already I bought a custom fitted pair from him. Carl knows his stuff and the boots fit perfectly, they feel like slippers. It's a bit more expensive for a custom fit but what is comfort worth? For me it was a sound investment for years of skiing ahead. Great job Carl and thank you!! read more

I left 3 messages as they do not answer the phone at their Creekside location. No one ever called me back. I gave up and thankfully I did as I found Coastal Culture Sports in Creekside. The best customer service ever and an online website that makes reserving skis a breeze. We had 5 sets of skis and were on our way in less that 30 minutes. Nicest staff and great equipment that is 50% less than Can-Ski. read more

Ridiculous prices; almost $600 for three days for two persons, and that for material that is not maintained and staff that does not know what they are talking about. Found a way better rental company with better material and knowlegable staff for $250 less. read more
