Whilst everyone here has been SUPER friendly so far, I'd give it to the staff here as being *the* friendliest, chirpiest, and nicest people I've come across during this visit. It's obvious that there is excitement in the air due to the sheer number of people visiting as well as the once-in-a-lifetime event *in* this particular area BUT you've got to give to them for showing it in the sweetest way possible. They carry quite a bit of trinkets and locally made goods and make some of their own as well. I just wanted something simple to commemorate this visit and left with a bag they made for the eclipse, a sticker, and as always, a fridge magnet to add to the collection. Definitely stop by if you're in this part of town!

She/they were so incredibly unfriendly and almost flat out rude. I kept thanking her, when she really should have thanked me. Love Capitol Stationers but, three hours later and now home, and I'm still thinking about the absolutely poor customer service. A few minutes after that visit, I was in Roam, and had the absolute BEST time interacting with three staff members. Yes, I bought more than I should have, but the customer service was the best I've witnessed in a long time. Business owners: train your staff!!! And, if this staff member was an owner, shame on you.

The deli is amazing!! Fresh roasted coffee, house made pastries, homemade bread, soups, sandwiches, everything you would want from a country store. The owners are wonderful people, warm and inviting, as well as helpful (without being pushy). It's adorable too, rustic, and cozy with great local art. It's been in business for several decades and is cherished by the locals. That tells me everything. If you are headed up to ski or explore, stop here. You'll probably see me stuffing my face on one of their pastries. (We are lucky enough to travel here four times a winter). See you there!

Downtown Burlington is a very small city and church street marketplace feels like a mall I find in middle America. We came on 11/30/19 and there was a nice big tree. This marketplace is about 3 blocks long and is a small strip of small local stores/ shops/restaurants/ and art galleries. The family and I spent about 1.5-2 hours exploring, shopping, and perusing local goods. If your in the area this place is definitely worth checking out.

Stowe Mercantile is a fantastic shop on Main Street Stowe. They have a lovely women's clothing…read moreboutique upstairs. The clothing offerings were so cute. I had to purchase a dress. The service was friendly and the staff were enthusiastic to help me. The downstairs level has a great assortment of homewares, souvenirs, and local food items. We bought a few jams from a local Vermont company for ourselves and as gifts for family members. I loved the large selection and spent a good 30 mins browsing. Very enjoyable experience and atmosphere. The store has sampling stations throughout so you can taste the products before purchasing. I also enjoyed the fun photo opportunity in store. They had an old ski lift car you could sit in for pics.

The problem I had with Stowe Mercantile is that I found out they severely price-gauge the consumer. Let's be honest... I'm sure I've overpaid for plenty of stuff in my time. Of course I have, and I'd do it again if I really want to. However, something just rubbed me the wrong way in this place. I was looking at some "Princess" game for my granddaughter. I saw the retail price was $14, and the store sticker price was $21 or $22. I just put the game down when I saw that... and they were blatant about it... didn't even try to cover over the retail price. They placed the store sticker right next to the original price. That was a bridge too far, and I just got pissed off and didn't want to support this store... so I didn't.
