The store is often confused as being associated with the market, but it is independently owned and operated.
I have been coming up to Killington for a number of years, and often stop in here either on my way into the market, or after a ski weekend to stop in. This is a family-owned and operated business, and they work very hard. The shop owner/manager is there around-the-clock all winter long.
The store is always immaculate, and well organized. The owner/manager of the shop is constantly folding the shirts and making sure that the store stays neat, even on the busiest holiday weekends (never any dusty items, glasses always clean). He also is helpful to take items down and help people find the appropriate sizing.
I would consider the apparel to be of a higher quality and integrity than most souvenir stores would carry. They are constantly getting new and interesting inventory into the store, and you can tell that all items purchased are deliberately chosen.
I have bought several items, including blankets, sweatshirts, long-sleeved shirts, all which have held up very nicely over the years. The styling of the garments is constantly being updated, and is very trendy, and some items are fun and playful. Provided that the quality of the items is above your standard souvenir shop, the prices are very reasonable.
This shop also carries many of the essentials that people forget on vacation such as reading glasses, bathing suits, and towels. Given that it is a ski area, many people remember all of their ski gear, but forget that there are often hot tubs or pools at their hotels/rentals.
In addition, if you are traveling and need supplies to entertain your children, such as coloring books/activity books and games, there are plenty of those stocked. Or, if you just want to spoil them, he has plenty of fun gifts for kids. My 5 year old niece loves this store, has been coming since she was two years old, and to her, it is a mandatory stop if we are visiting Killington.
In addition to your regular key chains, magnets, coasters, glasses, shot glasses, blankets, etc., there is a large assortment of housewares and gift items. I bought a faux moose antler for my dining room table which I really liked (included a picture). He also has several of those wooden signs with funny sayings to gift.
