I had a cart full of items that I wanted to purchase, it was time to head to check out we get to the register and all the cashier kept doing was birching about how the child outside was selling candy. Was more concerned about the kid selling candy then paying attention to is while at the register. She kept saying how sick she was of hearing the kid screaming candy and complained about it for 5 minutes straight. During that time we were trying to cash out and leave. When it came time to purchase our items I told the cashier I had the 15% off coupon and that I wanted to use it, she wouldnt listen kept going on about the kid outside w the candy. When I had to tell her again I wanted to use it she claimed she used the coupon but the price never changed on the card machine. It was the same price it would of been without the coupon. The cashier insured me that the coupon did come off and the card machine was just wrong in the display amount. I out my card in and paid, I got charged the amount before the coupon, it never came off. I told her and she argued with me saying I did not get charged even though it came out of my bank account already. THEN, she called the manager over and he said that I never paid tvat amount even though it came right off my card by that store it was the first store of the day. Then they MADE me pay for my items again and took off the coupon this time for sure. They claimed that the first charge wouldnt actually come out and I would get my money back. WELL guess what I did get charged two different times for the same exact items they claimed I never paid for the first time. I had to dispute my charges thru my bank which did not refund me my money.. The store claimed that I couldnt return anything the first time because no receipt printed. If the receipt didnt print then why did I get charged twice for the same stuff? I am extremely disappointed in this company, they wouldnt help me, wouldnt stop their cashier for complaining about someone outside, and would not give me my money back, and not paying attention to us. If she paid attention to us wouldnt of gotten charged twice and be out money that could of been used for other things. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS STORE. I'd stay away from foods with high fat content as oil tends to go rancid, but flour? Oatmeal? Pancake mix? Date syrup? Totally fine. An amazing savings! Stop in once to get the hang of it. He was shoving furniture around and near chased us out of the furniture section. Pushing a heavy flat furniture box right at my childs feet nearly knocking her down and right behind my back. I turned around to see her pinned up against large standing piece of furniture. The manager never apologized. He just glared wide-eyed and said "I was watching. I have kids of my own!" This employee should not be working so closely to customers that if they take a step back they are going to get hit by what he is kicking around. Especially near children who often move abruptly and sporadically, especially when frightened. This is a threat to public safety. I will NOT be going there again. And I don't suggest going there with children. It is not a safe place and does not uphold community integrity.

Vermont Lanterns are one of the few places to buy hurricane lanterns made out of brass, so I was…read morevery optimistic to try one out. I purchased the "Brass Mini Patio Hurricane" lantern, because I loved the design. It leaked. Their site even says that it has a "new and improved double wall tank design", which implies earlier versions had leak issues. Mine leaked from the base, near the weld seams for the two handles. I did everything correct; only filled it half full, never tipped it, etc. It was definitely a leak from the seam. I called them, and the gentleman I spoke with was very polite, and quickly shipped me a replacement. As much as I appreciated it, the replacement leaked in the exact same way. The hassle of going through a second return process was simply too much. It can sit on the counter as a display piece, but it's very unfortunate I can't use it as a lantern. I bought a Feuerhand lantern like everyone suggested in the first place, and it has been flawless. I won't buy another from Vermont Lanterns.

After comparing prices, we found that Burlington Furniture was quoting us $2,000 more than a California company, even with shipping and assembly included. Still, we wanted to support a local business, so we returned to Burlington Furniture, and they agreed to match the competitor's price. We were given an estimated delivery date of 4/30. When we followed up, we were surprised to hear that our furniture wouldn't arrive for nearly two more months. We understand that delays happen, but we were frustrated by the lack of communication. I called the manager to get clarity and was told that the employee who gave us that update was no longer with the company. She promised to follow up--which she did--but she didn't provide a new delivery timeline. Instead, she told us the order wasn't actually delayed and that deliveries typically arrive two weeks after the estimated date. It's unclear why the original estimate wouldn't account for that window, and what's worse, I never heard back from the manager again. Ultimately, the delivery company brought our furniture just five days after the estimated date, which we appreciated--but the poor communication and lack of accountability from Burlington Furniture left a bad impression. We're happy with the product, but extremely disappointed in the service. Sadly, this experience has cost Burlington Furniture a customer.
