I had a very disappointing experience with Sissons Flowers & Gifts. I called to order what I believed would be a $55 bouquet, but my total unexpectedly came to $81 due to added same-day delivery/demand pricing that was never clearly disclosed on their website or Facebook page. Pricing transparency matters, and if costs increase for same-day orders or demand, that should be stated upfront rather than presented only at checkout. The ordering process itself was frustrating. I had to repeat myself multiple times and spell out nearly every word for the representative taking my order, yet the birthday card still had our names spelled incorrectly. After realizing the issues, I called back to verify the birthday card information and was told I would need to speak with the owner, who later returned my call. The owner offered only a $7.99 refund and provided no meaningful explanation beyond saying they "don't charge a surcharge," while also acknowledging that prices increase for demand and same-day delivery. Regardless of terminology, charging more for same-day service without clearly disclosing it in advertised pricing is misleading and creates the impression of false advertising. Overall, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and careless mistakes made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this florist based on my experience.

I visited in January 2025 while I at Crocker Park. I didn't even know about this business until I stumbled upon it on my walk to Barnes and Nobles. They offer honey of different varieties (flavours), chapsticks, soaps, honey gift sets, and more. I bought a 16oz (454g) bottle of raw honey named "Linda's Sweet Honey". See attached photo. I've used this honey in several cups of tea already and I love it. It's a bit more watery than expected but it still functions as any honey should. I am just used to seeing thicker honey so the watery one that I have threw me off guard a little bit. The employee working on the day my friend and I visited is the owner's son. He was very friendly and nice to chat with. I asked him how the business started and he explained how his mom started the business. I got to sample about 3 different kinds of honey which was cool. My friend bought 4 lip balms (chapsticks) and she gave me one, the wildflower lip balm. I like the lip balm because it is made with pure Ohio beeswax, it's non-GMO, plus it is moisturizing which is the most important part. The business is based out of Warren, Ohio. Time to tell the world after visiting Wild Iris a few times now! AMBIANCE: Wild Iris is a two-story building that features multi-room shopping on the first floor and event space on the second floor. Both spaces are tastefully staged. You can really picture how the items would look in your own home and get new decoration ideas. The store is comprised of multiple rooms with an assortment of home decor. There is no particular separate theme (such as housewares in one room). There is a kids room, but other than that every nook has home decor, clothing, skincare, jewelry, housewares, and more. It's fun to walk around the space and look for treasures. The event space is available for rental for events and photoshoots. During my last visits there for shopping and entrepreneurial events, the event space had industrial chic look and plush couches. The space was very presentable for a professional yet stylish setting. There were plenty of spaces to sit down and network. I'm not confident whether this space is decorated for the holiday for your photoshoots or events, check with the venue. INVENTORY: The inventory looks refined and expensive. Yet there are plenty of finds under $40 for gifting or self-splurging. The store has seasonal gifts for every occasion. The store currently has ample Christmas inventory - decorative pillows, Christmas ornaments, faux gingerbreads, Christmas China, deer decor, and more. I'll be returning to shop for two cool things I've seen and reflected on. One, Christmas ornament for White Elephant exchange. Two, paper Christmas decor ($30 something). The latter is a very cute set that will work for my decor. I have a cat, and he loves to take down and nibble on decorations hence paper trees. SERVICE: The service is always friendly. I always get greeted with a friendly attitude. PARKING: Olde Avon Village has ample parking, multiple parking lots. It is a little challenging to find the entrance to the plaza, watch signage closely. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: You can make a day out of your visit to Olde Avon Village and Wild Iris. There are plenty of places to eat and entrain! I recommend Tree House Gallery and Tea Room, or Chez Michel for a warm beverage and lunch. Both are in the same plaza and within walking distance. I recommend visiting Wild Iris for decorating your own home or gifting. You can get gifts for multiple people on your list at this store. The store really has one-of-a-kind and gorgeous items!
