This place has great service, amazing recipes, and and extraordinary atmosphere. If I could bit 6 stars, I would.

We were in Drumheller for the day and came here for brunch. We have been to Drumheller many times over the years and always passed Whifs on the way to the museum. Just never tried until now. The Farmers Sausage Special was really good. Mini Jacks were fluffy. Egg Muffin was ok. The Peach crepe was a disappointment. It was quite crunchy when we were expecting light. The reason is they must have used something like a panini pressed to flatten it but as a result it made it harder. It was very bright and inviting place. The train going around with tracks hanging from the ceiling was great. My 7 year old was distracted by it which is a good thing. We probably will be back but will order something else. read more

A must hit little spot in Drumheller that hit the spot for my family! I read about the trains that run along the ceiling so I felt like entertainment was provided for my kids while they waited for food. I was sad to see only one train actually running with 4 just hanging out as decor, but the little figurines in them made them very eye catching for my kid. Especially the one with the Hulk! Service and staff were super friendly and helpful with all the young kids we had we were quite a loud bunch. It was too bad we came as a big group and wanted kids to be able to sit together but staff were very adamant about not moving tables or chairs...new flooring was the reason. But when you are a group you want to sit and enjoy a meal altogether so that was a bit of a bummer. And we might have been a little more in the way because we were getting up and moving between tables to socialize. Food was classic Canadian food and all of it came out in food time, good temps, and quick - especially appreciate since again we were a large group of families with of course starving children. I had the Monte Cristo with onion rings. Onion rings were perfect! My kid had a grilled cheese and fries, I stole the gravy, but my toddler ended up loving the gravy and dipping everything in it practically licking out the bowl. Waffles and latkes and omelettes all came out looking fantastic as well. Bathrooms are a bit tight but I'm grateful to see there was still a baby change table! They were a little short staffed, so they could only offer the breakfast buffet, but what a spread! Everyone loved everything they tried in our family and no matter what we wanted from the buffet, there was plenty of it. Really nice people and excellent service. We had a great time! read more

Very sweet little place in Drumheller that has been around forever. I remember coming here as a child and seeing the toy trains on the top and then again as an adult and having memories. Definitely a place to check out if you want to go local while in Drum. Staff is friendly and food comes out quickly. They make a lot of effort to ensure you are happy even though it is busy. Prices are not exorbitant by any means and your bill isn't going to shock you. The portions are also a decent size so you won't be leaving hungry. I had an egg sandwich with a few modifications and they were more than happy to accommodate me. Coffees and waters are filled nicely throughout your meal. They also have a lot of jam/peanut butter selections which is awesome. Definitely get here early if you want to come for breakfast because a bit of a line forms pretty soon after they open. This is such a cute little restaurant in Drumheller! When I go travelling- I don't know if Drumheller is considered much travelling but I have only been here a couple of times when I was little and I came for May Long weekend so it must count- anyways when I travel I don't like going to the big chains I like supporting the small local restaurants and I found this one. The roof has a train going all around it which is super cute and all the staff is very friendly. The food all looked so good and I couldn't decide between eggs benedict or an omelette BUT they have an egg benedict omelette even with holondaise sauce on it and it was amazing! Based on word of mouth and yelp reviews I opted to take my family to this little restaurant for lunch. If you can get past the beat up decor, stained chairs, old furniture and slow service, I recommend eating here for brunch. I had the piggies in a blanket which was 3 massive pancakes wrapped around 3 pork sausages and then lathered in an apple sauce topping. It was fantastic. Very filling and a taste combination I've never had. I have no idea what their pancake recipe is but I want it. Their taste was cake like but not overbearing. It was a perfect balance of flavours. I would have given this place a 5 star rating if the place wasn't so tired looking. As I said the furniture has seen its day and needs to be thrown out. It's kinda gross. The service was slow but friendly. But their bathroom was clean! I like this place and will return if I'm in the area but I worry that if a remodel isn't done they might lose valuable tourist dollars in the future. Good simple breakfast but nothing special. The food is good and there's nothing to complain about. But it's a breakfast like you find at a lot of other places. This is probably the go-to place for breakfast in Drumheller. We stopped in on a Friday morning while on a road trip. The place was busy, but we were seated immediately. The ambience is authentically retro--bright, clean, and full of chrome and shiny objects. Overhead a Lionel size electric train rolls around the room. My partner had poached eggs, pancakes, and the specialty farmer's sausage; I have my eggs over easy, with potato pancakes (latkes). We also had toast (a choice of three or four types), coffee, orange juice. Service is quick and efficient. Both our breakfasts were perfectly prepared. The eggs were obviously farm-sourced and tasted like they did when I was a kid. The homemade farmers sausages were huge, perfectly grilled, and full of flavour. The pancakes and the latkes were also excellent, both homemade. Overall, we were looking for a great breakfast and we found it. I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

A brutally dated dump, this place needs a total overhaul. Ugly and dilapidated, the decor is cheap and out of date. Why bring that up? Because you'll be staring at it for hours while you wait for the glacial service to seat you... And then bring the coffee... And eventually take your order... So you can wait... And wait... And wait... For cold hashbrowns and straight from the box pancakes. Yummy! McDonald's-quality food at ten times the slowness. I nearly pulled my hair out as the waitresses stopped to chitchat with every table and had the temerity to joke about the speed of her service. It's not charming, it's disrespectful. The food was ok. Exactly what you would expect from a humptys, Alberts or smittys. The decor was pretty cute, there was a train driving along the ceiling throughout the restaurant that gave it it's charm. They certainly do need to look into their staffing. With a full restaurant they had 5 girls on the floor ( specifically girls, probably in middle school) one of which was taking orders. And it looked as if one person was in the kitchen. Before we even had someone come ask us for our order our coffee cups had been long since emptied. People that were sat after us got their orders taken before us and people that were sat after them, ordered after us got their food far before we did. Just as I was ready to walk out, food came. In all the years that I've come to Drumheller, I've wanted to try Whiffs. I am so glad that I did! The food was fantastic - I really enjoyed my pancakes and scrambled eggs. The bacon was just how I like it - crispy. Yes it was slow, but the restaurant was busy with both locals and tourists. The gals working the floor were always busy, cleaning, serving, and I enjoyed their friendliness. One particular gal looked like she was perhaps 16 or 17, and she was working hard and very friendly. Yes the decor is older, but it was entertaining the kids and adults alike to watch the trains. Not the ritz, but good food. read more

Absolutely the best place for breakfast in Drumheller! Located just north of the hospital, it's kind of tucked away and hidden to those who don't know it's there. Best egg's Benedict I've ever had with homemade hash browns --- I highly recommend! The kids are always entertained by the toy train that drives around the track suspended from their ceiling. Don't let looks fool you, it isn't the fanciest or newest restaurant out there, but the food is truly outstanding and so is the customer service!
