The coffee I had a basic hot drip black which appeared to be a well balanced medium roast. However they have tons of coffee drinks options including Turkish and cortado which was nice. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the tone is fairly quiet to low end moderate. They have wifi and relaxing music and chairs/sofa/table spaces. I'm disappointed when a frappe doesn't have whipped cream, it instantly makes me like the drink less before even tasting it. When you think frappe, you expect whipped cream. It tasted artificial, average, nothing I couldn't get from a chain. I didn't care for the atmosphere. It wasn't a cozy coffee shop vibe. It felt like a thrown together coffee shop renting the space. I was out in Lagrange for one of my self-care appointments at one of the spas. I was a bit early so I stopped inside of Wheelys Coffee Lounge for a hot latte on this cold bitter Saturday Morning. I was instantly greeted by the owner who was behind the counter brewing up one of his famous drinks. The menu had so many interesting names to them that I was now undecided on my latte. The decor is nice and I like the chill comfortable setting of this place. Reasonable prices and good service. My first but not my last time coming back to this place. I came twice in one day. First I came in the morning and tried the Wheelys chai latte(dirty) and a croissant while I worked. They do have free wifi so that's a bonus. The chai is water based so I did not have to order with a dairy substitute! It was one of the best chai lattes I've had. There's a nice vibe inside with a good amount of seating and tables. I came back in the afternoon with friends and then tried the matcha latte with sf vanilla. I appreciate that they put the order sticker on the beverages so you know exactly what you're getting and the batista will get your order right! The breakfast sandwich (Avocado and Egg) I had was ok, flavorful but pretty soggy sandwich bread. I was under the impression it came on a bagel, which would have held up better to the spread used in the sandwich I had the pistachio latte which was ok, but again, lacking in flavor. Came here for a morning coffee. It's not a bad size square foot wise, but there's not much seating. There's 2 large tables in the middle, but for places like this, I would think most parties will be 2-3 in size, not 6-8. The larger groups make it very noisy. They had a crew of 3 and the owner (I assume). I ordered an "18oz" milky way hot coffee and a chocolate muffin. I waited 20 minutes, and my coffee was never made. I went up to the counter and asked thr status. He said that they don't serve 18oz. Okay, I say, so he just makes it a large. Why list oz on the menu but refer to them as small, medium, large. That's confusing. Anyways, he stops and makes my coffee. I understand they take online orders, but shouldn't you focus on your customers physically in the cafe? The muffin and coffee were good. Wheely's is a pretty great place for sitting around and working. Clean and comfortable. The prices are pretty good on the coffees, as well as bagels and pastries. Coffee is the main thing of course. It has both the simple and more complicated things to choose from. The prices are a lot better than at most places. It's about $3 for a latte. Of course add a bit more for non dairy milk. As for what's to eat, there's a few things they have. You can get a simple bagel, or something like an egg sandwich. It's about $3 for a bagel and a spread such as cream cheese or peanut butter. There's quite a few other treats such as cookies and other stuff they bake here. For sure it's a good spot for local coffee. It also has a few pretty good bagels and treats. Morning pit stop before a short drive up to Milwaukee for work. Wheelys was completely empty, so I went right up to the barista and ordered a Coffee Flight and Avocado & Egg Sandwich. Lots of tasty-sounding options to choose from, but I wanted to keep it simple. A young man took my order while someone older (assuming the owner) coached him. I sat in one of the bright red chairs while scoping out the other seating arrangements. Eventually I planted myself at the large communal table to get a few projects done on my laptop while enjoying my food and drink. Loved the variety of the Coffee Flight (cold brew, mocha, regular latte, chai latte). The sandwich looked simple but was SO good. Parked right out front. Overall seamless experience. It was fun people-watching with my headphones on, seeing parents with their dogs and kids interact with the cafe owner. Felt like being in someone's home, with family members coming in and out at their leisure. Would go out of my way to visit a Wheelys location again. Grateful for the hospitality! read more

I tried Wheelys in LaGrange for the first time in December. The interior was very inviting and well-decorated. The employees were also so kind and willing to tell us about the various menu items. I asked if there was any added sugar in their oat milk, and they reassured me that they don't. I love ordering an oat milk latte, but I only will if there isn't added sugar (just a taste preference on my end!), so I appreciated it. The latte was perfect. This place used to be great but, it's gone down hill in a hurry. I think there is new management or ownership and the service now is nothing short of horrid. TWICE I went in there around lunch on a week day and NOBODY is working. I waited both times for like 5 minutes and nobody showed up at the counter. I guess they have only one person working now and that person is nowhere to be seen. They used to have multiple people working and someone would always be there to help you. Now they leave several bells on the counter for you to ring I guess so the one person can wake up from their nap or something to come and help you?? Not a good way to run a business. I ended up walking out both times and went a few doors down at the competition where low and behold, they had 4 girls working, had my order taken immediately and two minutes later had my drink(and now it's not Starbucks) So that will be the last time I go there. So we keep going out of our way there to try this and THREE times in a row now they tell us NO, they are not serving it today!!! So let me get this straight. I have been to Wheely's four times and always leave more than satisfied! The first two visits, I ordered a hot honey oatmilk latte. This is my go-to drink whenever I am at a new coffee shop. The balance of oatmilk and honey was perfect (some places put too much honey which results in an overly sweet drink). I decided to try the chocolate peanut banana smoothie. It was indulgent and just the pick me up I needed! Today I decided to go for the mocha protein smoothie. I was hesistant to order it because I do not like my mochas to be overly sweet but this smoothie was delicious - and I could actually taste the both the coffee and chocolate flavor. I ordered a small and my drink was upgraded to a large with no additional cost! This is a great addition to downtown La Grange. Will definitely be back to try out more from their menu. Three of the four drinks were preselected and you got to pick a latte for the fourth one. I was worried about the drinks being too sweet (I typically drink black coffee every morning), but I was pleasantly surprised that I liked ALL FOUR! All were iced (one was black cold brew with the point being to cleanse your palette of the sugar from the other 3), and another big surprise for me was that I would be willing to order the chai as a whole drink.
