Stood there looking at the menu, someone else walked in, the middle aged woman at the register greeted her and took her order until I spoke up and said I was next. She said she "didn't know bc I was looking at the menu" but she also didn't ask if I had any questions or anything. If you want to talk about an area that's oversaturated with desserts and froyo, then you're talking about downtown LaGrange. I don't think i've ever seen 3 froyo shops on the same block with a Coldstone Creamery across the street. So how do you choose and which one is the best? It's really hard to tell since most froyo shops are pretty similar, but I went for the one that was right next to the place I had dinner reservations at and to the one that was advertising hot chocolate on the window. Since it was pretty brisk that evening, I thought a hot beverage might be good, but the only "hot" one they have is the one they were advertising. All coffees and teas are iced or cold. I ended up getting an iced pineapple and lychee tea. The two employees working were quick and efficient and made my tea pretty quickly. I was disappointed to see that the pineapple and lychee syrup was just poured from a container in the fridge and the fresh ingredients weren't taken off the toppings bar as I was expecting. The tea tasted really good though so it worked out for the best. read more

They charge by the oz so be careful with your serving of froyo and toppings, they add up! I tried Chocolate and Red Velvet - you have about 6 options and you serve yourself and pick your own toppings. I just wasn't blown away by the consistency or the flavor of this frozen yogurt. It was just ok. It was just meh. It was take it or leave it. Maybe it would've tasted better if it were summer or maybe if it was a weekend afternoon and I leisurely strolled up and down La Grange Road munching on froyo and window shopping... I don't know. The Good: The yogurt is typically yummy, the selection of toppings is large, and the spoonable smoothies are awesome. The Bad: The yogurt is sometimes INCREDIBLY BITTER and always requires a taste test, the cups do not come in different sizes which is aggravating, and the place is over priced. Overall, the place is alright. I'll probably continue going back for spoonable smoothies, but I'm going to try the growing frozen yogurt market in Lagrange before considering going back to Red Mango for frozen yogurt. read more

The La Grange location is excellent. Brought the kids and they had a ball. They have 10 flavors on tap (although none of which are just plain chocolate??), they have tons of toppings, the prices are reasonable. Most of the fun is letting the kids find out what flavors are NOT intended to be mixed and what flavors really work together. So there is some science and experiments involved which is fun. They have 3-way dividers for the cups so the kids can try all sorts of different things. Protip: lots of free sample cups are on the counter so you can try before you buy read more

Stopped in with my sister and nephew. Definitely yummy. They have a large variety of flavors and toppings to please just about anyone. My nephew got the chocolate and cake flavors and they were kinda weird. I got white peach and mango with fruity toppings and it was delicious. So, I definitely recommend sticking with the fruity options. The only downfall is the price. I spent $8 on my bowl of yogurt! First time having some self serve Fro-yo and YUM! Stopped in here after some lunch and had a great treat. The cups are ginormous and it's very easy to fill it up. There are several different flavors of the frozen yogurt including Madagascar Vanilla (which is what I ended up choosing), mango, pomegranate and more ! The toppings are endless and I let my little one choose and we went with iced animal cookies, chocolate cups, gummy bears, fresh strawberries, mango boba and a couple of other things! Every time we ate bbq at Q, I eyed this place across the street and yearned to try it out. Finally it happened, I didn't eat too much bbq, it was a freakishly warm March night and so we popped over there. I even did my research, reading reviews about the procedure before we went in. Some of the parents were doing a fabulous job monitoring their children as kids really can't be unsupervised here, there are too many choices, knobs, dishes etc. where they need to be parented. Kudos to those parents who did their duty and as I read the hilarious (unintended humor) review from the Mom who is boycotting, those who weren't apparently won't be going here anymore. Sounds like a win for the rest of us. Everything here was really fresh and it is not the kind of sweet yogurt you are used to at other places. At first, it tasted sour to me but then I just loved it. They have a great choice of toppings and next time, I will even stick to the healthy ones. My son who is 10 was right next to me adding his toppings when I heard a man behind the counter snap and said "don't spill it all over the place" when I looked over I realized he was talking to my son. I asked my son if he spilled anything and he looked confused and said NO. The man was cleaning a very little crumble that fell out of its container. The man who looked mid 40's early 50's, did not look up at me or my son once, the woman looked over at him and then me and started to apologize, she told him "you don't talk to kids or customers like that", he looked over at her and said "don't say sorry to them". I was shocked, but I took my son's ice cream, placed it on the counter and kindly told her we would be going else where! First time I tried Red Mango I wasn't a fan but my wife is so we tried it again and this time I found that the smoothie was really great. I think you just need to keep trying to find the combination of fruits which suits you. Then I found out that these smoothies were actually very healthy made with yogurt and no sugar. I have always wondered what red mango was. So after some delicious BBQ across the street, we decided to stop in and check it out. There was a small line but we stuck around. The process is pretty self explanatory, you grab a small or large tub, pick your poison (yogurt) and the toppings. I went with mango raspberry yogurt and original. I really just wasn't fan. The self serve aspect of it is nice. But the cups are ridiculously huge and makes it hard if you just want a normal size serving to tell how much yogurt you're getting. That aside, I really didn't care for the flavor of the yogurt at all. I got a mostly dark chocolate yogurt with a little pomegranate yogurt, I couldn't tell the difference between the two. The yogurt wasn't creamy and the chocolate had an odd flavor to it and wasn't chocolatey at all. My husband got key lime and Madagascar vanilla, I couldn't tell the difference between his two flavors and mine. My 4yo, 2yo, and I saw their Open sign lit and flashing, so we parked a block away and walked over to grab smoothies, only to find they weren't open until 11 (it was 10:30am). No big deal, we'll walk around for 30 minutes until they're open. In the meantime, we looked at the large menu board outside of the door advertising açaí bowls and decided we wanted those instead. We circled back around and went in once they opened. We started to order, asking for the same açaí bowls off of the big menu boards behind the counter as the ones we saw outside of the front door, and the girl looked at us like we were crazy and said "we're out of açaí bowls and don't have them". This location is a self-serve location which I was not crazy about at first but when I arrived and realized I could fill up the cup to my hearts delight, I was thrilled! Many more options than the non-self-serve and helpful staff. Also, it is weighed and it seems to be cheaper than others but that could be me lying to myself to keep coming here.
