Let me tell you about the terrible service my family received at the hands of Dr. Wheeler and his staff member Megan. Dr. Wheeler did not complete my son's braces as he had promised by high school graduation. He promised this repeatedly. Three months after this due date came and went, my son was leaving for college and they expected him to repeatedly miss school to travel back home to accommodate Dr. Wheeler's lapse in service. This office is only open 3-4 days a week. All of this was a disappointment, but isn't why I am so upset with Dr. Wheeler and the office. I emailed and left messages multiple times in an attempt to figure out my options and what I could do to solve our problem of my son needing to complete his care. Megan strung our family along for months. Failing to get back to me with our opinions. I think Megan didn't get back to us in an attempt to make us finish with Dr. Wheeler. Megan suggested we get my son's braces off even though his teeth weren't straight, and that they would keep all the money. Even though they didn't fully complete everything to get my son's teeth straight. I was not will to do this. Once I realized they didn't care to help us. I informed them I was transferring to a new office. Megan even lied to me and said I would receive zero money back. They ended up having to refund me for the retainers they never provided, the money they collected but hadn't provided services for, and the money they fraudulently billed our insurance. It seemed obvious that Megan said we would get no money back to encourage us to stay. They even tried to get us to sign a blank contract. This contact would have allowed the office to fill in that we agreed to NO REFUND. The worst part is that they misrepresented facts in an attempt to keep our money. These guys obviously don't care about their patients. They just care about money. A business is only as good as a business owners ability to handle problems. And Dr. Wheeler completely screwed this one up. Maybe it's his right to not take responsibility of the fact that my son's braces weren't done when he said they would be done. But there is no excuse for trying to steal people's money. read more

I've been a patient here since 2005 with a variety of treatments b/c my teeth are darn stubborn (and I'm really picky). Not their fault, I blame my mouth. But since day one, they've never given up on me and have been on a patient pursuit to ensure I'm satisfied. The first thing I loved about this office was the open-floor plan, no walls dividing up patients. Everyone can see each other and he keeps his younger patients happy with hand-held electronics (how cool is that!) It's very interactive and unique. During my consultation he had the latest technology and visuals to educate me on what I'll be expecting. I was mesmerized because I'm so used to old dental office with stale furniture. Everything was hip, cool, and refreshing to be around. Even the latex gloves are flavored! (grape, orange, etc) From metal braces, to Invisalign, to retainers....Dr Wheeler and his staff has been very kind, very "with it" and goes the distance to guarantee my happiness. I've referred several friends his way and they're quite happy too! Dr.Wheeler is definitely the best orthodontist in town and very enjoyable to be around...you'll look forward to your next ortho visits! I don't recommend anyone going to this ortho! I've referred a lot of customer to them. 1 time I Ask for them to help on a special needs child that's not responsible to do replacement on retainer, to make auto payment. Megan! I am a Lodi native and decided to travel to Stockton for my daughter's ortho treatment. My experience with Dr Wheeler and his staff has been exceptional. My daughter is nearing the completion of her treatment and each time we have had an appointment, they have been prompt and respectful of our time. So... I am only giving Wheeler Orthodontics 3 stars because the assistants are amazing! Other than that I do not recommend. I went in for a second time treatment due to a couple teeth turning(even though I wore my retainer every night since I got my braces removed) and was told I was a perfect candidate for the 5 week Invisalign. So I choose to go with it and then after those 5 weeks it turned into another 10 weeks and then I was in a time crunch due to things coming up so I switched to braces. Well I had braces for 5 months after that and then saw my teeth were not making progress for the better and decided to switch to another orthodontist where she told me I am still looking at another 1.5-2 years. The new orthodontist told me that there was a lot wrong with my alignment and many other problems. So I am beyond upset because I wasted money with dr. Wheeler and my teeth had gotten worse during my second treatment round. So my "5 week" Invisalign has turned into 2+ years overall. Also I had to finish paying off my treatment with dr. Wheeler even though I did not finish my treatment with him. I do not recommend him at all. I do not feel like he really cares about his clients teeth, he would primarily only look at my right side when my left side needed the most work. I think he is way to busy to spend time on how many clients he has come in at a time. Also the front desk lady told me that because my dentist appointment was the day after my ortho appointment I should just have the dentist clean around the wires because they had just done so much ortho work to put my wires back on. This place is horrible!!! I am still in the braces stage and have been for over 2 years now!!! At first, the doctor told me it would be only a year and a half!!!! I have done everythng I was told to. I have regularly brushed and gone out of my way to brush 6 times a day like I was told to. Now, I just got my rubberbands off and I was told we have about 2 to 3 more appointments to go. The appointments are 6 weeks apart. The staff are horrible at their jobs. Just recently, I went in and the woman attended to my brackets was jabbing me in the gums with one of the tools she had. She told the doctor that I had "slight bleeding" and I was told that I had to brush more. I am seriously considering leaving, especially considering that a couple months ago I was 15 minutes early for my appointment and ended up behind three patients, who were late, that had lengthy appointments. I would not recommend this office. read more
