On a weekend or holiday, definitely get there early or they will run out of bikes! Note that if you ride on the beach, bike must be THOROUGHLY cleaned upon return or you will incur a fee. Rental included a helmet and bike lock. We cleaned our helmets and bike handles with rubbing alcohol, and all was good. Bikes functioned well, and we did 10 miles before dark. Stopped for dinner, locked up the bikes, ate, and rode home. Made for a great day! If you didn't/couldn't bring your own bike, riding around Jekyll is worth the money. I first rode the full island perimeter with friends in the late 80s, and I never forgot it! I was 8yo and did a 20-mi ride (I was so proud of myself), and the experience captured my heart. Do it! Get some exercise and bike the island up close and personal! Make sure to hit the trails on the interior of the southern part of the island! One mile biked is equivalent to about about 400-440 steps in terms of exercise, but walking the whole island takes forever. Bike it to scope things out, and then go walk your favorite parts later.

Many of them are dog friendly but be sure to check. During peak season it can get $$$ Driftwood beach and the pier are two of my favorite places on the island. The ruins are also a neat place to hike. I have posted separate reviews for all the places I've really enjoyed in the island. The food on the island is a mix of delicious and let downs. Be sure to check out some of the restaurants that are not right in the town village part. The locals tend to avoid them and after my last couple of visits I will too. There are a lot of repeating flavor profiles on the island of seafood obviously Overall this place is pretty amazing and worth checking out.

We tried to book 3 golf carts with Orion, but they only had two.  They misunderstood my email telling them I needed three and delivered only two. I called them immediately upon arrival to tell them to pick them up. They picked up the carts immediately and said they would refund our money. (I offered them 1 day rental for the delivery.) They then reneged on their offer and charged us for the full week!  USE SEASIDE!

We rented two unusual bikes: 1) Adult bike with a trailing kid bike. 2) Adult bike with a kiddie trailer. Our toddler loved sitting in the trailer, strapped in, saying "Whee" all around town (she's 1). Our 5 year old, who is an avid biker, felt safer attached to mom or me, and we felt better not having her run circles around us and in traffic. We took the tandem onto the beach at low tide and it was surprisingly easy to ride for miles. I hadn't ridden a bike for almost a decade, but we jumped at the opportunity every day and Two Brothers gave us a couple of free days thanks to our rental return date being Thanksgiving. We were able to get up close and personal to the airport and see and hear the planes take off right over our heads-very cool! We did ask for a map twice after reading that there are twenty miles of bike paths and they explained that the "bike paths" are sidewalks throughout the island. While that may be the case, it would have been nice to have a paper guide or app to show us the different options. You could ride on the beach, in parks through neighborhoods, etc. but it would have been nice to have an idea of which way to go depending on what we wanted to see. Overall, I highly recommend biking as a beautiful way to see the island!
