Rental was quick and easy, taking maybe two minutes. This shop is priced just a bit higher than the older bike rental (the one adjacent to mini-golf), but the Wheel Fun folks are nicer, quicker, and easier to deal with (the other shop has an old guy who will try to talk you OUT of renting a surrey!). By the way, the double-surrey is huge fun. It's not hard to pedal or drive at all. My family has done this two years in a row now. It's a great way to see the island.

I appreciated that it came with baskets, locks, and that we were able to return the bikes later than when the shop closes at 5 and drop the keys in the lock box. However, the service left something to be desired. We were not greeted by either employee and waited 5 minutes in the empty shop to be spoken to. I would have appreciated help adjusting the bikes, the helmets, or even advice about our trip since we had told the employee we had never been to the island and that we had not biked in a long time. We felt like a bother to the employee, and like she did not want to help us. The bikes themselves work great, but I'm not sure I would recommend this place or come again after that experience.

Inside the shop, they tested my battery charger, confirmed it was working properly, and did so without trying to sell me a new one. They even scheduled a pickup time so the cart could be checked out further. When Tim arrived to pick up the cart, I explained the problem in my garage. He took a quick look and resolved it on the spot. Despite driving out to my residence, he wouldn't accept any payment. That level of honesty and service is rare. If you have a Club Car or any other type of golf cart, I highly recommend giving this team a chance. If I ever need anything in the future, I know exactly where I'll be going. Definitely would recommend starting here first if you are intending to do some serious fishing. They also have several picnic tables with barbecue grills and an outdoor bathroom that is really clean. They also have a beach area if the kids wanna hang out which also seems to serve as additional areas for shore fishing.

Hidden gem! My husband and I took our motorboat with bikes onboard down the ICW from Savannah for…read morea little fresh air getaway during Covid. We were so impressed with the Jekyll Island Harbor Marina, which made our little adventure even possible. The Marina is small, but provides full services, including courtesy bikes and courtesy golf carts, along with a pool/hot tub, and nice restaurant. It is clean, nicely maintained, and well suited for this special island. Zack. the owner, met us at the dock and, unsolicited, loaded our luggage into his oversized golf cart to transport us to the Jekyll Island Club Resort where we were staying. The morning we were leaving, we called to have our tank filled and again, they offered, unsolicited, to come pick us up. We've sailed all over the world and we were so impressed with the level of service this small Marina provides. Most importantly, it allows access to a truly unique and magical place. If you don't know the history of Jekyll Island, it became famous as a private winter playground for the wealthy barons of the Gilded Age. Some of the "cottages" of club members are still standing, along with the original club hotel. The island is now owned and managed by the state of Georgia, which has done a fabulous job at preserving the historic and natural features of the island. One of the highlights is a paved bike path that circles the perimeter of the island and takes you along beautiful beaches and a natural causeway. Benches along the way are perfect for spectacular sunrises or sunsets. This is truly a special island and if you love a combination of nature and history, it's a "must visit" for ICW cruisers!

This marina is very small, very quiet and the staff is constantly working. The park-like setting is beautiful! The pool and hot tub are such a great addition! The two washers and two dryers are quite reasonably priced and usually available. There is a restaurant on site that serves quite good food. The only drawback is the 3 shower rooms-which are less than stellar. However one is under construction so I am guessing they are updating them one at a time. This marina is a welcome oasis.
