I went to Griffins after reading another review that said how helpful they were even on a small the small issue he was having with his bike. Well, I had a small issue with new my bike that I could not fix. So I went to Griffins told/showed them what was going on and in less than 3 minutes the problem was solved and at no charge. Now that is customer service at its best. I recommend Griffins to all bike riders regardless of the complexity of the issue with your bike. Thank you. Frank read more

10 stars! Mr. Griffin was SO helpful in answering my questions and giving advice as to my VERY old bike. He was able to make a few very minimal repairs on the brakes and everything works great! I am so very thankful as I am only down here for the week. Will bring all my bikes to him from now on. read more

I had an emergency when the bike chain jammed and the bike was the only means of transportation for a young mom we mentor to get to work. Even though they were very busy with repairs, they fixed the bike right away and went way beyond to insure the bike was fixed and safe! Griffins is our place to go from now on for tuneups and repairs! read more

If you are having issues with your bike, have questions about bikes or want to purchase a bike come here first. I called another bike shop to ask questions and they were less than helpful and seemed disinterested in my needs when I didn't have an high end bike. I told a friend of my poor experience and he recommended Griffins Bike Shop. The owner was helpful and knowledgeable. He stopped what he was doing to figure out if my issue was a quick fix to save me a 40 minute drive back to his shop. He got me squared away in less than 30 mins. During my visit I saw an experienced cyclist drop off his expensive bike for repair and I saw a grandfather come in with his grandson to get a bike fixed. The owner treated them both the same. I will definitely make the drive in the future for my next purchase or repair. read more

Fred was willing to get my oddball folding bike working again and he understood that we didn't want to invest a lot in it so he got me riding again for only $35. Creative problem solving, and fast! I definitely recommend. read more

I first learned about Fred Griffin and his Bicycle Shop in Brunswick, GA on the BRAG (Bicycle Ride Across Georgia) Facebook Page. He has a devout following of purist cyclists who appreciate the type of bikes that Fred builds. I visited his shop today hoping he could identify a problem with shifting and the derailleur on my new bike. Turns out the main problem was with me. He listened to my comments, examined the bike, made his assessment, and provided some nonjudgemental, kind education. I've visited quite a few bike shops over the years and have encountered service people that can be elitist and condescending. That is not the case here. I left feeling very good and will definitely be back. read more

Fred saved the summer vacation when the bike chain broke while traveling! Thank you for fast service with a smile!

We were so impressed with the service we received at Griffins Bike Shop today! My chain was completely tangled & we were at a loss how to proceed. Fred very calmly & efficiently fixed it for us, saving our holiday on Jekyll. He had such a pleasant manner and so much skill that we quickly relaxed and were confident that we would soon be on our way. Thank you so much. read more

We love camping on Jekyll Island! For most of our trips , in anition to our bicycles a car was towed behind the camper, Well not this trip. We quickly found there is only one place on the island that claimed to do repairs. Please don't waste a minute. A car was hired (that's a different five star review) and took both me and my wheel with the flat tire to this so-called repair center. Totally inept. The car driver's boss called to see how all had gone, recanting the story, she put her hat of local knowledge on and provided me with Fred's (the owner of the shop) cell phone number. A quick call and all the parts needed were in stock. The owner of the car company (At your service; Jekyll Errand Girl) Stopped by Griffins Bicycle Shop just to see if I had called. She pickedup all that was needed for our holiday to resume. You might think that was it, of coarse not, the very next morning our other bike experienced a blowout. Having kept Fred's number, I gave him a call. That's when I found out the number I had was his cell phone. Still early in the morning, Fred was as cheerful as could be having called two hours prior to him opening his shop. He felt confident he had the necessary things to get bike two back in working order. The he opened his shop, there was Jekyll Errand Girl, ready to bring these things to me, and before to long, back on the road we were for the twenty mile ride around the island. My great thanks to Fred, and Jamie for making what could have been a sad week of camping, into a time of great gratitude for their over and above service. Thank you. B & J read more

Griffin helped our high school electrathon car team when we realized we'd left one of our brakes at home in Middle Ga. We didn't know what we needed. He helped us figure out exactly what we needed, he had a used part that was amazing for us and better than what we'd even had before. He knew as the teacher I was going to pay for it out of my own pocket. He didn't charge us. Would not accept money!! He was so knowledgeable and willing to help. Attentive to the few other customers who'd come in while we were there working. Awesome guy, awesome shop, would LOVE to see you support him too! read more

The owner really knows bikes and the service is great. He tuned and repaired our two older high end bikes up from front to back. They now are like they were when we purchased them new and improved the ride by 100%. Prices were very good and he only did what needed to be done with a detailed itemized bill. We will be back again every year for a tune up, he has a new customer for life. We highly recommend his shop for repairs and has high quality new bikes on display for sale as well. Good assortment of accessories on hand. A+ read more
