We love Wheaton pediatrics! We have two daughters and our one has been constantly sick since she started. We are always able to get in the same day for an appointment if anyone is sick. The nurses are so incredible with our girls and always go above and beyond. We have seen almost all of the doctors but Dr. Roberts is our favorite. Most recently, our infant daughter had RSV and was hospitalized due to it. Dr. Roberts followed up with a phone call several times to check in on us while we were at the hospital. He is such a wonderful human being and he always provides the best advice and care for our daughters. Highly recommend! read more

I took my daughter to Wheaton pediatrics for about two years since she was a few months old until she was almost three, and I would say I had a great experience with this Pediatrics practice and they were excellent. Initially, when I went to them, I just had a bad experience with prior doctors so and I was very skeptical, very hyper alert for what I wanted and was looking for a pediatrician for my child. Let me tell you, I'm glad I found them, we saw Dr Grunewald first, She listened to us, our concerns as first time parents, she guided us, and took excellent care of our child. We also saw Dr Able and she was great as well. when it came to the office/customer service, we were able to contact them if we needed to call them with questions. My daughter has been very healthy so far other than the occasional cold and preventive care. we didn't have to reach them often but when we had to, we never had any problem getting to them, getting feedback, or even just needing medical records. Another thing I like about this practice is that they have a big waiting room, with toys and books for the children to play, and they have a separate section for patients that may come sick. I mention this about the waiting room because recently I moved away, so I don't go anymore to Wheaton pediatrics anymore, and the new pediatricians I have visited seldom have a spacious area like WP has. We are happy with 1 doctor, Tom Roberts. He takes time to actually speak with you about your children and their well being. Beyond him, this place is an absolute mess. They harass their patients and parents IN PUBLIC VIEW at the reception desk for not feeling comfortable of allowing this office to have a personal credit card on file, of which they said they would charge "without consent as they need". This is the worst policy I have ever seen. ESPECIALLY with a place that has a track record of misdiagnosing patients (then charging for another appointment to fix the mistake) and miscoding for insurance purposes. And after a miscode has taken place, the harassment continues that "your insurance has denied your coverage", again, in front of the entire waiting room. Dr. Roberts, please find a new practice to associate with. We will follow you. The front desk, the office managers, and the billing department are among the worst in the entire western burbs of Chicago. read more

Wheaton Pediatric has changed from being patient-centered to money-centered. When we first joined a few years ago, they were great. They answered all of our questions, and there was no issues. However, within the past year or so things have been changing. Appointments are more rushed so they can get through as many patients as possible. Their billing department is just plain mean. Even our insurance agent was telling us how rude and aggressive their billing department was (if an insurance agent is telling you that you're rude, you have some serious problems). The biggest blotch on Wheaton Pediatric is our latest experience. We had a well check-up for our son. One of the forms you fill out asks if there is anything you want to ask the doctor (ours for the day was Dr. Ute Monson). We wanted to ask about his gluten allergy. It had recently gone away, and we wanted to know what we should do next. The doctor had a few minutes of conversation with us, and that was it. No tests or anything else came of it. The total well-check up time was 45 minutes including the time spent waiting for the doctor. 90 minutes is reserved for each well-check up, so no extra time was taken. We found out later that the doctor had indicated that we had to be billed for extra time, which that we had to pay for. We were effectively punished for trying to take care of our child. One of the biggest problems in American healthcare today is how doctors are turning into salesman and trying to squeeze every last dollar out of their patients. Wheaton Pediatric has turned into the embodiment of this problem. read more

These are the doctors you need for your kids! They are friendly, full of information and most of them are parents themselves, so they have that "hands on" advice as well. The office has a sick waiting room which is handy. At least there's some effort to isolate those kids when they are waiting. They have tv monitors usually showing Finding Nemo or some other Disney movie to keep your kid occupied as well as a table with crayons and paper for coloring. My favorite feature is their SICK CALL procedure! You can call in the morning and get an appointment THAT SAME MORNING! No waiting around until 4 pm to see the dr. Get them in, get the drugs and move on! They also have a voice mail system for leaving messages for the nurses. So if at 2 am, you think you're kids not sleeping because of an ear infection, leave a message and they'll call you back at 8:30 (before everyone else) and set you up with an appointment. Everyone who works here is so nice and friendly. I've seen a few of the doctors out and about in town and they always stop to say hi. read more

We LOVE Wheaton Pediatrics! We travel from Elk Grove Village to see these doctors. Friends recommended them to us when we were searching for a pediatrician for our daughter while we were expecting. I checked out their website and fell in love with them already! When I called, the receptionist was the sweetest thing in the world and I thought, SOLD!! I scheduled the hubby and I to come in for their expecting parents session. We got a mini tour of the office and met with a nurse practitioner. It was good and informative enough for us! We currently see Dr. Harenburg mainly and occasionally Dr. Liber...love them both! The staff is wonderful and...we just love them. Definitely will be recommending them to all our friends in the future!!! read more

The doctors are absolutely incredible. I've loved every single one. It's easy to get an appointment. I've been coming here since I was a child. Unfortunately, it's the office staff I have an issue with. I have not had one pleasant experience with any of them. Recently, they ask me every time I am at the office to put a card on file. I say no every time because a few months ago, they automatically charged a card WITHOUT permission of a bill of $276 and I never signed any form to give permission. They used a card I made a precious payment with. The billing department apologized and refunded me but after that, I will not sign for automatic payment. The front office staff tried to argue with me and tell me that it couldn't have happened because they don't do that without permission. It's incredibly frustrating when I've never missed a payment and still get harassed about this matter. I dread calling to make an appointment because I know I will not have a pleasant experience. By far the best Dr.'s around. We have been patient's of Dr."Bill's" (Harenburg) since 2010, before that my daughter saw Dr. Liber at the same office since 2005! Now both kids see Dr.Bill. He is patient and understanding, the kids know and love seeing him. If ever something is wrong or someone is sick they say, "Mom, call Dr.Bill". That alone makes me feel more comfortable with the provider I have chosen for my kids, because my kids trust him. It was worth the drive from Aurora to Wheaton, when they opened the office in Batavia it was even better. hope my review helps! read more

Requested for my child's immunization record and growth chart a month ago, and still waiting for it. Cost me $5 for these partial patient info and $10 if I want the whole file. I asked why charged me for requesting these private patient info and was told that was for printing fee by the front desk. And I was told that it took two weeks to process but almost four weeks passed. I am still waiting for the "provider" to sign the release. Why am I requesting my son's patient info? Because I am so disappointed by the pediatricians in Wheaton Pediatrics and I don't want my baby to see these doctors any more!!! read more

We've raised two children with this practice and have always received great service. The doctors are terrific, particularly Drs. Liber and Rucoba. Cindy, the receptionist, has always been accommodating and helped us find a way to get an appointment. The nurses are top notch. And Vanda is a wonderful PA. The practice has helped us raise two children through the trials of asthma, depression and many other common issues. We feel very blessed to have these doctors available to us. read more

We've been going here since our first child was born 10 years ago. All our kids come here. We love Dr. Monson, but the great thing is that the whole practice is fabulous. The other doctors all seem just as good and the nurse staff is solid. We're leaving the practice after 13 years. The billing department is increasingly difficult to work with and has been unwilling to adjust after slipping in Codes, which are out of coverage and the primary scope of the exams/appointments. It is a shame, as the medical professionals are great and have taken excellent care of our children. Unfortunately, their billing practices make it cost prohibitive due to surprise bills that are outside of our insurance. While I do LOVE the sick call policy (really, adult doctors need to take a lesson from this place and implement this, I can't complement this place enough on it) it's luck of the draw on the doctors, not YOUR doctor. We love most doctors there, but there is a few in particular we are really not fond of. The nurses are also great. They specialize in the little, little ones so once your kid hits 12, move them out. We've been with Wheaton Pediatrics for 3 years. I originally really liked this practice because it was a 5 minute ride from my house and I was always able to get sick appointments any day/time I needed one. I didn't like that I could never see the same provider, I always had to see someone different. I overlooked that because they were so accommodating. In January, my child's medication changed, we went from 1 pill daily to 1 pill in the morning and 1 after lunch. About 3 times in the 2018/19 school year the prescription was filled incorrectly and we were left without enough medication for the month, when I called to get the error rectified it was an all day back and forth. On one occasion my daughter needed an exam and I asked the receptionist if I could pay my co-pay later (I didn't have my wallet) she said if I didn't pay at time of service I would be charged $35 fee (our co-pay is normally $15). I noticed that the receptionists seem very bothered when you call for an appointment or any reason for that matter. The last straw was this past month, I scheduled a physical weeks in advanced, I arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seen, when the Dr. arrived she kept repeating that there was not going to be enough time to complete this physical and that I would have to schedule a second appointment. I've decided to change offices. read more

During a whirlwind time spent at the neonatal intensive care unit after the birth of my son, I met Dr. Liber. He spent time with us and our baby helping us get through a rough few days. A few days after the baby was born, someone from the hospital staff came to us and told us that Wheaton Pediatrics is not covered under our insurance - there had been a miscommunication between us and their office. Naturally, we flipped out wondering what we could possibly be charged by Wheaton Pediatrics for the time Dr. Liber spent with us. The hospital staff person called Wheaton Pediatrics and told them about the mix up. Wheaton Pediatrics and Dr. Liber chose to charge us NOTHING!!!! Its rare to find that kind of care in the medical business these days and we'll never forget their kindness. read more

This is a great team of health care professionals for your little one. We started bringing my baby girl here when she was just a little peanut a few days old (I think her first visit was the day after we were released from the hospital). I find it a huge plus that they have so many doctors in the practice. When we were having feeding problems they suspected a tongue-tie and instead of having to travel to see a specialist they had a doctor on staff who specialized in diagnosing tongue-ties in babies. The sick call policy is also great. When my daughter's bad winter cold turned into a double ear infection, they were able to get her in the day that we called. Every doctor we've seen has been caring and shown an active interest in the health of my baby. We'll be taking our daughter here as long as we live in the area! read more

I have been a Patient of Dr. Liber for over 18 years. My brother and sister also have him as their Pediatricians. He never disappoints. I love how he is and always been super intelligent and compassionate with his patients what more could a mother ask for? This is who you want taking care of your baby for their check up's. I never thought that I would say this because I don't like medical related things, but I am sad that it's almost time for me to find another doctor :(... Dr. Liber owns the practice, however has several other excellent associates that you can also see. They accept patients on Sunday's on Emergency Basis which is nice. They are very helpful and go over and above to help you feel better. The office is always very child friendly and clean. In the past couple of years they went paperless which is excellent, because it makes visits much faster. If you have questions there are always nurses that will talk to you to give you quick advice that you need. They are just wonderful at accommodating all situations. Overall, I would without a doubt recommend!! Wonderful Service that just keeps getting better! They genuinely care about you which is why they won't just send you home with the recommendation to go buy cough syrup. They believe it masks the sickness.- It's more natural to let the body flush the sickness out with water and an antibiotic if needed. I have always loved that they are of this opinion. Some may find it works and they don't mind if you use it, but the main point is that they are conceded about making sure your symptoms are complete gone and they will not just advise you to 'mask' it. read more

We started at Wheaton Peds 9 yrs ago. We drive from Yorkville. Our child sees Dr Ables, who is very caring and thorough. I like that they don't automatically give antibiotics for every sniffle. The office staff does their very best to get you in and have never been rude. Sometimes you have to wait for the doctor but I think thats okay. They're busy because they're very good. read more

I have three kids and we've been seeing the docs at Wheaton Pediatrics since 12/95. They've grown a lot since then. We worried that as the practice grew they'd lose the personal touch. We worried for nothing. Aside from what other reviewers have already written: We have our favorite doctors that we like to see (but there is one there who we will not see, not because she isn't qualified, but simply because we clashed a long time ago over a disagreement--she didn't listen to what I was telling her about my child, but we saw another doc a day later and it turned out fine). When I call sick call, I always ask which docs are handling the sick call patients (there are always 2). We've never been told "no" that we couldn't request which of the 2 docs we'd like to see. Recently, Wheaton Peds has implemented Sunday sick call hours. You call in the morning that day and they will see your child. It's awesome, and way better than sitting in the convenient care waiting room for hours! I'm not surprised by what Jeni F. wrote about Dr. Liber. That man is the best pediatrician I've ever met. He's a great listener, completely thorough, terrific with kids of all ages, and in all our years there his integrity level couldn't be any higher. We've had kids with things as small as ongoing abdominal pain. Dr. Liber grabbed a check-list that he'd created, went through all of the possibilities, and we quickly figured out after a routine blood test what the cause was. We haven't seen all of the newer docs in the practice, but speak very highly of Drs. Liber, Cynthia Amble, Ruben Rucoba, and Lynn Ables. Incidentally, every two years in the January issue Chicago Magazine lists the top docs in the metropolitan area. Two years ago Dr. Liber was listed with 4 or 5 other area docs under the specialty of general pediatrics. read more

They all are just fantastic, I loved them .. I always felt my baby is in safe hands.. Wheaton Pediatrics is very professional in their approach and when it comes to handling your baby they do it with lot of love and care.. I had to leave IL and shift to another state when my son was 3 months and oh my god it was so difficult to find some one who was as capable as them and I never did find anybody. You have sick visit room well trained nursing staff, excellent assistance over the phone when called for any issues .. follow up till the issue is resolved.. Wish they has their offices everywhere in USA and I had to not change the Doctor. read more

Good stuff first. They can always get sick child in for an appointment and front desk is nice. Dr. Ambler very good. But from there it goes downhill. Twice one if my children has been severely misdiagnosed (both times requiring unnecessary / traumatic overnight hospital stays), even though I vocalized my disagreement w this course of action. I think this is in part due to inconsistent visits w a single practitioner (while they get you in for visits, it's luck of the draw who you see) and the lack of clear communication from one physician to another. If they could work on communication between practitioners and see the big picture of health vs each episode as a stand alone incident it would be helpful. I have been taking my 3 children to Wheaton Pediatrics for years and had been very satisfied. Over the past 12-18 months, their service has deteriorated to the point I need to change. Most recently the issue was my son who has change of season allergies. I took him in for his regular appointment and the Dr Liber prescribed his medication. The pharmacist did not have the prescription. I called the office and they refused to get the prescription to the pharmacy and said I would need to make another appointment. Finally, my son has gotten such a bad reaction that he is home sick, throwing up all night. I called the office to get him in there and they said there is nothing available and that I need to call back later to check if a doctor opens up their time. I had to persuade the receptionist to take my number and call me back. After this appointment, our family will be elsewhere. read more

I think the medical staff in wonderful (especially Dr Ambler) but the office staff leaves something to be desired.

After 4 years of using this practice it is time for me to move on. They have gotten away from the "caring of children" to caring for the money. My youngest son was sick for all most a full year before he was referred to a specialist. Not only did they misdiagnosis him they let him suffer for a year. Even after this I stayed with this practice because "they are the best". The treatment my children received recently was horrible. They were not gentle at all when they tested my 2 year old for the flu and left his nose bleeding all over the place. Both of my children were not diagnosed with ear infections and sinus infections. But they were 2 days later at the ENT. They knew that my husband had pink eye, when my 2 year old woke up with his eyes shut I called as soon as they opened. After waiting for 4 hours for a return phone call I called. I was told I would be called back ASAP. 56 minutes later I received a call back and was offer a next day appointment. Off to CDH Urgent Care where the Doctor walked into the room and stated "that baby has pink eye". I found another practice and when I called to forward my children's records I was told 2 weeks. A week later I called to follow up. I received a call back the NEXT day and was informed it would be 3 weeks for the info to be forwarded. In another words 4 weeks total wait time. That was not acceptable and after being abused by a woman in the records department for a good 10 minutes I told her a I expect a phone call from her supervisor. The Nurse in charge called about 4 hours later and after I told her about my Wheaton Pediatric "experience" she told me she would see what she could do. An hour later I received a call that my records were ready. When I went to pick them up I was charged $30. You know what, that is the BEST $30 I could spend there. My children are finally finished there. read more

If you don't mind being harassed and made to feel like a lousy parent if you don't consent to a bunch of unnecessary tests, then this is the place for you. Used car salesmen don't have anything on these doctors who will try to sell you an x-ray for a pimple. Little bit of sore throat, better get a strep test because as the doctor told me, you don't want to find out your child ends up with scarlet fever! If you are actually looking for a doctor who is not looking at your child as a meal ticket, please look elsewhere. If you don't believe, I challenge you to try and refuse a test. I tried today and I basically got a tongue lashing for suggesting it. Guess what, the test came back negative. Really! read more

Love them! 7 providers, so there is always someone to help. Someone is on call every day at CDH to visit inpatients and greet new babies. Someone is on call overnight to assess emergencies. There is a nurse dedicated every day to fielding your phone calls, and 1 of the 7 providers is on sick duty every day, so his/her schedule is always open for last minute visits. I have never had problems. Vanda Marsh, PNP is our favorite provider, but everyone we have met has been great. read more

My children have been patients birth to adulthood. My 21-year-old is still seen by Dr. Liber. We have seen other doctors and nurse practitioners and have been pleased. Over the years the care has been exceptional. They do a great job getting you in quickly and work with my families schedule. The most outstanding characteristic is how they treat the whole person. Dr. Liber has gotten to know my son and listened to him as if he were the most important person to him. We never feel rushed, and I am always amazed at the amount of time that is spent on my children's visits. My daughter's transition from pediatric care to adult care was seamless. They helped her transition and gave referrals. I know this is small but it is very important, they bill visits correctly. I have never once had to call my insurance company or question how things were billed. It is has been a blessing to have Wheaton Pediatrics throughout my children's lives.
