All he gave him was some IV fentanyl (as an ICU nurse I know that one single dose of IV fentanyl in the amount he gave him was not nearly enough, nor would it last long enough to help my husband for his procedure). My husband again woke up during his procedure (or was never properly sedated) and again was telling them to stop because it hurt so bad. My husband states he remembers telling Dr. Schumann it was hurting and Dr. Schumann shoving a needle into his gums. This procedure was again still not able to be finished. We paid $2k+ for an incomplete procedure.

However, I needed some simple x-rays of my teeth and either the x-ray holder was TOO BIG for my mouth or the "hygenist?" was placing them incorrectly and they wouldn't go in. I said, OW. YOU'RE HURTING ME. So she shoved harder and started fussing like a 2 year old. I said, STOP. THEY DON'T FIT. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. She stamped her feet, fussed like a baby and said, so you are refusing the procedure? NO, i said. IT DOESN'T FIT. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. She called in another staff member to complain that i was Un-Cooperative or something. This staff member did NOTHING USEFUL. Didn't even speak to me at all. 1st woman- then braced herself like she was pushing a bolder up a mountain and began SHOVING the appliance back into my mouth. It still didn't fit. I was in so much PAIN that i nearly jumped out of the chair. Almost to tears, the 1st highly trained and skilled "hygenist" finally brought in Dr. Cheung. I told him the appliance didn't fit in my mouth. Please do something different. He immediately told them to do the xray a different way. No problems. It was done in a moment. Professional. I DON'T BELIEVE that the xray film would not fit in my mouth with the application of even the slightest professionalism or patience or that ANY of the fussing and violence to my mouth associated with getting the x-ray was even necessary. Any person even remotely interested in actually getting the job done- would have accomplished this simple task with almost no trouble at all. This female hygenist and the staff in general are Stunningly Brave, absolutely Beautiful, perfect in Every Way and are obviously being oppressed. Please don't change a thing. The office is absolutely gorgeous. They really take the time and effort to make the experience as pleasant as possible. My first visit was because I needed a crown replacement, so just jumped right in to the full dental experience on this one! The patient beds/chairs are comfortable and I was given some headphones with relaxing music while they worked. The whole process didn't take too long and it was as painless as it could be! I've been back several times, both for cleanings and additional work. They got me in quickly for an urgent pain situation a while back and remedied the situation right then and there, thanks GOSH*! All the staff and docs are very friendly, professional and welcoming. Mike is awesome and quick with the cleanings! Dr Simon is a great addition and very good with checking in during work to make sure the patient is comfortable and doing ok. Will be going strictly to this dentist from now on!!! This is also a direct violation of the patients (INFORMED CONSENT TO TREATMENT AND CARE!) They leave patients in pain and ignore them when it is quite obvious via video chat that swelling/pain is still an issue! When patients complain or leave Yelp reviews they further gaslight and blame the patient pretending they are not accountable for their poor decisions/treatment/care. Funny enough, their competition had NO ISSUES AT ALL with keeping me properly informed, well treated during surgery and aftercare was no problem for them... Future responses from this company will be treated with the same response they gave me... "Not my problem if you don't like honest reviews of your poor service!"

I work a 9-5 job and it is very hard to get time off approved for literally anything. Their office hours were very accommodating to my work schedule so it was a no brainer to go there. Earlier this year, I opted to get Invisalign as recommended by Dr. Verzella. I had my initial appt for the Invisalign in early March which was a nonrefundable $300. So I wait, and wait, and wait some more- April flies by with no follow up phone call or appt. NO ONE in the office bothered to call me to tell me that my plan was finalized until I finally called them at the beginning of May- 2 months after my initial appt! They said, they "forgot" to reach out to me and simply apologized. I overlooked this and proceeded with the plan. They had me pay everything upfront costing me about $5.2k. A lot of money yes, but I was excited, ready, and I trusted Dr. Varzella's judgement. Fast forward to today 6/20/22, I call to see if I can get scheduled and now I am being told that they won't be able to get me in until July 14th which is FOUR MONTHS from when I had my initial appt; all the while hoping that my trays will still fit form my initial measurements. After thinking on it for a few minutes, I called the office back and spoke to an associate to let them know that I don't appreciate how I'm being treated and all she said was "I get it, but the money is nonrefundable. You can come pick up your trays and take them somewhere else if you want." Frustrated, I decided to cancel the July appt and opted to just come in and pick up my trays. I have been too patient and forgiving with this office and now I am out of $5.2k. Which is a lot of money when you only have a single income household. I'm usually a very temperate person and I have not been this upset about anything in a while. The lack of communication between office and patient is ridiculous. I am a nurse and I would never want my patients to feel as neglected with their care as I have felt here. I get that everyone is human and things fall the the cracks but ultimately, I'm the one that suffered when they are the ones that dropped the ball multiple times, but in the end they got their money. Now, I am out of thousands of dollars and my teeth still need fixed. Dr. Verzella is a nice man and great Dentist, but I am very hesitant to return to this practice. Moral of the story do your research before deciding on any healthcare providers- including dental practices.

He is great at making a game plan for your teeth as in what is priority versus cosmetic needs. He has been great working with my insurance over the years. I have had about everything you can think of done on my teeth and have been through many dentists and I still think Dr. Safa is the best. Dr. Alessi is another dentist at the practice and he is fantastic and I trust him and his opinion as well. Don't be completely alarmed that the price seems high. After the work is done and my claim is submitted, after a month I will typically have a positive balance on my account so maybe they estimate higher. I didn't understand the process at first but basically they will give you an estimate of what the insurance will cover, you pay, and wait for the insurance to go through and you may have a positive balance afterwards that you can either send back to your card or keep for future use. (Knowing this process helps) For dentist anxiety: this is the first practice I have went to that has calmed me down. I also ask for laughing gas and it's worth the $50 or whatever for it because it chills me out. Tell Dr. Safa your anxiety concerns and he will help you. They also have a care package that has a weighted blanket and other amenities for extreme anxiety. All in all, I love this office and will continue going as long as they keep up everything to my higher standard.

During the appointment, they ran tests that were not common in my other consultations (gum sensitivity, x-rays) but I was told it was normal in a consultation. Since then in February, I have received a bill for $69.70 but the website says there is no bill due on my account. When I called them, they said they booked me for a comprehensive oral exam, which is not what I asked for. When I told them it will be better to make that clear to future patients, they ignored me and asked me if I want to pay it on the phone. This whole process, I felt gaslit about what I was told before and had no clear and consistent answers. The dentist was very kind but his staff was not. This was a very bad experience compared to all my other lovely dentist experiences at surrounding offices. While this is not a lot of money ($25, $49, $69), the lack of clarity and honesty showed me not to recommend this place to anyone.
