The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the car used is an old worn out car, not that I blame him since new drivers are in the drivers seat!!! We have used this business for both of my kids. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about current licensing requirements. We were missing a document for my daughter to get her permit and the owner personally delivered it to the Yuba City DMV within an hour of calling. He isn't the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for. I recommend. read more

If you care about your child and the way they feel do not use this academy! we had kenndra and it was horrible she didnt teach anything just yelled and was rude. my daughter was very uncomfortable around her after the first lesson and the second wasn't any worse we ended up foinh with a different instructor for the last lesson because she said she could t relate to my child after being around her for 4 hours and mostly being in her phone the whole time and jiggling teaching anything at all just letting my daughter drive and telling her where to turn, she has a lot of bad reviews and i wish i would have looked at those before going with this school in the first place. she didn't make my daughter feel confident or say anything to help her learn although my daughter has already been driving for a while before these lessons. i feel bad for any child that has to experience her lack of training. read more

Kendra at Wheatland Driving Academy was unprofessional, disrespectful, and distracted while teaching a minor I took behind-the-wheel lessons at Wheatland Driving Academy with Kendra. As a 16-year-old student, my experience was unacceptable. I received no constructive driving instruction during my lessons. Kendra's communication was rude and disrespectful toward me, not educational. During my lesson time, Kendra was on her phone and even took personal calls while I was supposed to be learning to drive. Instead of contacting my parent about any issues, Kendra texted me directly to end my training early, stating there was a "connection missing." I had to request a transfer letter to finish my required DMV lessons elsewhere. After reading other public reviews spanning 10+ years that describe similar experiences with Kendra, including yelling at minors, belittling students, ending lessons early, texting during instruction, and bringing animals in the car, this appears to be a long-standing pattern of conduct. I cannot recommend Kendra or Wheatland Driving Academy for teen drivers. Parents should closely supervise any instruction. Instructors should not be on personal calls while teaching minors to drive. read more

Very disappointed with this lady. She didn't teach my daughter anything. She raised her voice and yelled at her for overcorrecting when she made a turn. Told her she wasn't ready 10 minutes into the second driving lesson. And took her home, text me and told me I needed to find a different driving academy. Very rude. I told her my daughter had been sick and doesn't respond well to her raising her voice when teaching her because of what happened the first lesson. Was not going to give me a refund until I told her for what 20 minutes into a 2 hour lesson. ‍ Never recommending this place to anyone. Very disappointed! read more

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" -Kendra Come here if you want your youth's driving experience ruined and traumatized by Kendra. My son was tearful when asked why he was back early. He couldn't get the words out. We asked how it went and he said she was very rude and just shook his head. He said he tried to do what she asked but she kept being rude, her tone, she didn't like anything he was doing and said "What the hell is wrong with you?!" My husband called her and asked about her comment and she denied it! She kept saying she never said that and said "Did your son tell you about the compliments I gave him?" My son does not lie, he even tried to say that maybe she is just doing her job! This is NOT how an instructor suppose to teach ANYONE. Then my husband said "What the hell is wrong with you?!" She got all flustered and said "I can not have you talk to me like this, you can take your business somewhere else" and hung up. WOW I guess she knew exactly how it feels to have someone say it back to her. Good lord help the poor folks who is blessed with her as their driving instructor. SMH read more

Highly recommend Wheatland Driving Academy!! Kenndra is so patient with the students and is very thorough, yet very efficient!! She takes the time and ensures the students don't begin instruction until they confirm they are comfortable with the vehicle's adjustments to fit them and they are aware of their surroundings prior to driving for safety measures, etc. Our girls are so blessed to have been given the opportunity to learn from Kenndra! She is down-to-earth and there is no tension as she makes the kids feel safe and secure while making great conversation too!! Payment and DMV permit verification is also a very smooth process!! Thank you, Kenndra!! We are so blessed to have you teach our precious cargo the rules of the road!! Paul 'n Lisa Hatten read more

I had 1 driving lesson with an instructor at this school. As a minor I was looking forward to learning how to drive, this was my first experience driving, and was completely butchered into an awful experience for me. I was belittled, yelled at, and called stupid as well as an idiot. I would not recommend this driving school to anyone. This experience was my first impression and made me feel awful as a minor just being taught to drive. I feel uncomfortable knowing a lot of minors are going to be put through this awful experience as well, as younger people and just plain kids. We shouldn't be treated like this for just being taught a normal thing that we don't yet know how to do. I don't feel like people who expose youth to this deserve to work with us personally. read more

Kenndra was verbally abusive and awful to my children! Kenndra was used strictly because my husband knew her husband. I tried 3 times, with 3 different kids, and her attitude remained the same. She never taught my kids anything, she just yelled at them and sat on her phone. Telling them things like, "what the hell is wrong with you?" and "do you even want your license?" She even went as far as to tell one of my daughters, "that is the stupidest thing I have ever (enter explicit vocab here) seen in my 6 years of teaching." I should have 100% believed my son after his one lesson with her. She downed my kids after it was literally their first time behind the wheel. Our girls had NEVER driven before. Ever! She directly told them they were awful. When confronted it was our fault. She actually told me I don't, "spend enough time with my children and it shows." When that didn't work I got, "whatever. Don't text me anymore." This is a horrible instructor who bullies minors. I have written a formal complaint through DMV. In my opinion, she needs to grow and become better as an instructor, and a person. My hope is that no other teen has to be subjected to this treatment. This isn't how adults are supposed to act. Especially business owners. read more

Our son learned all the fundamentals from Wheatland Driving Academy. It was easy to make his appointments and they were very flexible and accommodating. He not only passed his drivers test, he had zero errors! Highly recommended! read more

I used this driving school for my first lesson she was very rude and I was already very anxious and she would yell at me which made me more scared to drive she was overly rude and snapped very times I asked a simple question and she treated me horribly as if I had no feelings at all and was over all a bitch. read more

**INSTRUCTOR FROM HELL** My daughter was picked up and taken out for her first lesson last week. She was nervous, but my husband and I assured her she would be fine. 2 hours later she came home crying her eyes out! She let us know that the instructor (Kenndra) was rude and snapping at her the whole time. Every time that my daughter would ask a question, Kenndra would snap at her her response. Kenndra would make comments to her that were demeaning and degrading like she should have not passed her written test since she can't follow simple instructions. I have rode as a back seat passenger on one occasion that my husband had taken my daughter out for a lesson (he took her out maybe 3 times) and because of my husband's calm instructions, my daughter (after getting comfortable) did very well. When I spoke with Kenndra she stated that she is a loud person and she never yelled at my daughter. She said that my daughter wouldn't listen to her instructions and there was not a good connection between the two of them. I told her that I know my daughter and from being yelled at and snapped at she froze and shut down. My husband and I did not set our daughter up for failure. Her confidence in herself is completely gone and she isn't wanting to learn anymore. I don't know what this instructor expected from my daughter on her first lesson, but I do know we did not pay for our daughter to be scared away from learning how to drive. This lady is simply there to collect a check and should not be in customer service AT ALL!!! read more

We had the pleasure to use Wheatland Driving Academy & were very pleased! Our daughter learned a lot on her first lesson & felt comfortable with the owner! We would highly recommend them especially with paying by the lesson not the full upfront fees!!! read more

Parents, please do not use this school. Ms. McQueary, driving instructor & business owner, acted in an unsafe and highly unprofessional way while instructing my minor daughter for behind the wheel lessons. After my daughter's first lesson, she told a peer from the same school that she was a much better driver than my daughter, naming my daughter by first name and asking if she knew my daughter. During the second and third lessons when my daughter made a driving mistake, she yelled at her. When my daughter asked clarification questions, she told her they were "stupid questions". Throughout the lessons she used her phone for texting. For the third lesson she brought her dog in the car. It is unacceptable for her to have endangered my daughter by not focusing on the driving and also to belittle her when she has been hired to teach. Other YELP reviews, I was astonished to later find, indicate others had the same or worse experiences. Her license to teach should be revoked. read more

Kendra was amazing, she went above and beyond took extra time when needed. She was very patient and was great with explaining everything to my son. Happy to say my son received 100% on his driving test!!! I highly recommend Wheatland Driving Academy to all looking for a great instructor. read more

I deleted the last review bec of the change of ownership. She was great, she taught my kid. Actually taught more then I would assume.

I had two teens get trained by them and both passed their test first try. The prices are very reasonable and you can pay in installments instead of a lump sum up front. read more
