It must have been a training night as we had excellent service. Asked for a whatacatch but they ran out and it's actually not on the menu anymore. Settled for fries instead and then another lady manager type was very accommodating to road weary folks. Nice people - super service. read more

We were passing through on our way to south padre and unfamiliar with the area. We wanted to pick a safe location to eat and we felt like this was a good location to stop. The restaurant was clean and employees were friendly. Patty melt was good according to my husband. I enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger. I highly recommend the apple pie! $55.77 for a family of 5. We just had a perfect whataburger stop. It's seen better than usual because we had to walk out of the Corpus Christi shoreline burger shop under the same brand. One hour earlier. This is one of my favorite spots when I'm visiting Refugio. I don't get to eat Whataburger every day (unfortunately they don't make it to Colorado) so it is a treat when I do. There is something different about Whataburger - the burgers are generous, and the service is friendly and warm. This location seems to ALWAYS be busy, so you may have to wait a bit, but it is worth it. Parking can get tight, and if you go through the lot without success you need to circle around the block to get back in. Aside from that the Refugio Whataburger is a winner! read more

It's hard to not give a whataburger a 5 star, even a middle of know where like this one. The person helping us walked away and normally you will stay standing there waiting for her to get back. Well not at whataburger. The manager came and helped us and even though he did not know how to upgrade our kid sized drinks he decided to give us the drink without changing up. This place is always packed from locals and people passing through. It's hit or miss really but they aren't rude when you tell them about their mistake. I'm sure they don't do it on purpose it's just that they are so busy. I recommended if it's possible and if your especially picky about how your food is prepared that you get off and go inside to order so you can check your food before leaving. Maybe there has been a management change, but I waited in the drive through line for far less time than I have at other Whataburgers, even though there were about 10 cars in line. The food was hot and fresh, and the staff were friendly and on point, moving quickly to get everyone served, and constantly coming out of the restaurant to deliver food to the cars. Worst whataburger in Texas. We visit family in CC every six months or so, we stop here at this location because we have 4 kids who are dying of starvation. This particular whataburger seems to mess up on our order everytime . Today was the straw the broke the camel's back. We ordered a #1 all the way no cheese extra pickles. The employee repeats the order twice... we ended up with a burger with ketchup and nothing else. Too late to turn around, but it's upsetting that they continue with the bad service. I assume since everyone is passing through that no one will complain to a manager. Save yourself and stop at the Dairy Queen or subway. read more

Do not go to this place. We waited in the drive threw for 15 minutes for a simple order of chicken and 2 drinks. There was only 1 car in front of us. When we finally got our order the onion rings had grease dripping out of the containers and they were so over cooked I threw them all away.
