After a fun evening at the splash pad, the whole family was looking forward to enjoying hamburgers from Whataburger. Unfortunately, when we arrived home, we discovered that one of the burgers was missing the patty entirely. To make matters worse, it was supposed to be a double-meat burger. There is nothing more frustrating than getting home and realizing your order was prepared incorrectly. We had to make an extra trip back to the restaurant to have the issue addressed. While the staff corrected the mistake, it was an inconvenience that should not have happened in the first place. She didn't think of looking at the order since she gave them the name and they repeated it. When she gets home it's the wrong order! BETTER THAN IN AND OUT Never disappoints. Have always been satisfied with this location no matter the time of day I've been. There's a reason people will drive from north beach to this location as they choose to drive past the north beach location just to get to the Portland one instead. My first order I got it early in the morning for lunch and they gave me 2 buns and an egg.. in other occasion I place my order through the phone and the guy that took my order knew my name and asked if i have placed the review in google(I did). Let me start off by saying I love Whataburger. However, again I am disappointed with Portland, Texas. Once again, my order was wrong. My son and I ordered 2 number twos with cheese. Mine was dry and my son's was all the way. My burger was correct. However, my son's was a single patty with bacon. I gave him my burger and ate the one with bacon. I was not happy. Once inside our order was taken right away and the kitchen staff were all busy working on orders , not standing around talking, and the store were super clean. 25 minutes waiting in the drive-thru for a subpar taquito. I fully acknowledge that their taquitos aren't what they were years ago, but every now and then I give in to nostalgia. I'd be lying if I said my stomach didn't pay for it every single time. That I'm prepared for. And yeah, there's usually a bit of a wait at a Whataburger. That's kind of something you tolerate when our food is made fresh at a busy, popular place. When I pulled up and saw that there was a good amount of cars waiting I ALMOST aborted this taquito mission, but I did not. I literally almost reversed away before a car pulled up behind me. Terrible service. Order completely wrong, sent back, returned wrong again. The drive thru line was long but it took 20 minutes to get to the first window to pay and the food was cold and the order was wrong. Then waited again for the corrected order and it was still wrong. I don't care how good a hamburger they may have and personally I don't think it's that good anyway, I'll never go back. Ridiculous. If I could give no stars I would have. Now please understand that my complaint and comments are directed at this particular location and not at Whataburger in general. Generally for fast food fare Whataburger is pretty good one of the better fast-food burgers I've eaten. At this particular location the staff has trouble making simple menu items such as their signature burger. I visited the location that wanted to order their big jalapeno bacon burger. You know the one that you see on the giant billboards All over Texas. Since this burger does not have a number. Which I find kind of strange. I pointed to the picture which was right on the counter and explained to the cashier that this is the burger I wanted. When the cashier struggled with ordering it. I suggested that maybe she bring the picture back to the Cook to show him what I wanted. She ignored my request and when my burger came out sure enough it was nothing like what I ordered. Surprisingly my burger was brought to my table by the manager. I told him it was wrong and explain what I wanted. He said he would take it back and get it fixed I told him I did not want it fixed I wanted a fresh burger. He took back my entire order including my onion rings. Then return to my table with the same burger with a cold beef pattie and a cold slice of cheese thrown on it. Also by this time the onion rings were ice cold. I asked the manager for a refund which he gave me and I left the location. This is at least the third time that I've had a problem of this nature at this particular location. I've ordered this burger other times at other locations without any issue. Will I go back to Whataburger? I probably will but I'll be in no hurry, but as I did say it's one of the best fast-food burgers I've had. However I will not go to this location.
