Having been customers of the fast food chain all over Texas for a long time, we were prepared for the usual quality food that we've come to expect from Whataburger. On a holiday Saturday morning, we stopped in during a slight lull. We exchanged pleasantries with Matt, who seemed to be running the show. The location appeared to be slightly understaffed, as the food took a little longer than expected. When it arrived, we were not at all disappointed. There were a couple of customers who seemed miffed about the empty vessel of self serve coffee and the wait time. Being a longtime veteran of the service industry, my understanding and sympathy went out to Matt, his friendly co-worker/trainer (whose name we missed,) and the unseen worker's staffing the kitchen! After waiting at another sit down restaurant for entirely too long, hit up the drive thru around 8pm. Busy but not terrible. 3 #5's (2 being the exact same, no mods). Watch them fill 2 drinks and sit them in the window, several minutes go by and we pay, see drinks sitting there. Come to the window after several minutes "what's the name?", give us 2 of the 3 drinks. We wait. Then they tell us to pull forward, ask about drink #3 - making a new batch. Several minutes and bring the drink no straws so we ask, brings straws. Waiting, cars going around us, waiting. Come out and ask what we need - our food! We never got it. Manager comes out, Eric and asks what we need. We never got our order - asks for receipt. Never got that either so he asks the name so he can pull it up and get it done, says 3 minutes. We were thinking were to go too eat dinner and so we went to wataburgur when we got their their was a super long line for the to go so we went in side to do the to go and their was also a big line so when we got the the front we ordered some kids chicken tenders and she ask for what kind of dessert we wanted and I said cookie for both and chocolate milk so she gave us the chocolate milk and I said to put it with the food and she said ok. Then when to get are drink and the ice was stuck and we could not get ice and we had to wait there for an extra amount of time until we got ice for our drinks.then we get to our hotel we noticed that we did not have our chocolate milk and cookies!we we get this all the time so we're trying not to come back to watabuger and you shouldn't either. read more

Went inside to order our food. The young lady took our order and I asked for my table tent # she said they don't do that anymore. They call out your name so we went and sat down. People that ordered after us got their food taken to their table so I went up and asked if they forgot about my order she said no I took your order and I said well still waiting she went to the back and looked under a table and found it in a to go bag and said here you go. Told her I didn't want cold food and to refund my money. No regret or oh I'm sorry just a look on her face like oh well. If I could give ZERO stars I definitely would. I always try my best to be considerate of the fact that this is the only whataburger in Port A. Every single time I've gone to this drive through the line ALWAYS takes 40+ minutes. NEVER less. We went here on a late weeknight to grab dinner. I have had Whataburger once before so knew what to expect. I don't think it's any amazing burger, but if you're comparing it to say McDonald's it's pretty good. We went through the drive through and ordered 3 combos plus a kid's meal. The most important thing is our order was correct, which is hard to come by with fast food places. Our meals tasted hot and fresh. I got the double cheeseburger and it was huge, probably could have just gotten a single. The kids meal was reasonably priced and came with lots of stuff such as fries and a dessert. I notified the indifferent, tired, and obviously irritated "manager" who grunted and just returned to "cooking." The 25 minutes we were there no one attended the bathroom situation. Gross! While we waited, another customer commented on how this wasn't the "best choice Whataburger". He was a local. It's not their fault that it's the only place to eat late at night. It is their fault that they don't prepare for this. For those of us that live here it's more than frustrating to come through after working a long shift and wait in the drive-through for 45 minutes... there are ways to expedite the drive-through line- they could have someone outside taking orders or they could have someone running out orders, or even open the other drive through window... but no we are wrapped around the parking lot, and we don't have a choice but to wait or don't eat. After working for 15 hours no one wants to go home and cook so this is what we have ... I got to the drive-through at 11:15 PM it is now 12:05 AM... And I have one car ahead of me management could really be doing some thing to expedite this this is ridiculous! read more
