The food service was terrible. There are two lines. Why. The guy at the window was giving bags of food out to people on the side of me and behind me. Then told the order wasn't on his tablet because apparently whataburger is trying to be in n out with the workers standing outside. Got the food and the food had no flavor in it. Man, this Whataburger location has gone downhill in a major way! I had the unfortunate experience of ordering on a night when it seemed like a young, inexperienced manager was completely unprepared for the job. The staff was far from friendly--they didn't even greet me when I walked in after coming in from the drive through when I noticed they left out a burger I ordered and paid for!." Instead, they just stared at me like I was inconveniencing them. And one girl told me she was off the clock and proceeded to sit in the lobby and cus and bad mouth her co-workers and the lack of aptitude while she seemed to be eating. I had to go inside because a burger was missing from my drive-through order, even though I had clearly paid for two burgers (the two drinks and two fries made that obvious). Mistakes happen, and I went in calmly, but the lack of basic courtesy and the demeanor of the employees was shocking. When I explained the issue, the manager's response left me absolutely floored. He asked who had taken my order through the drive-through speaker. Seriously? How am I supposed to know that? When I told him I had no idea, he condescendingly said, "I'll replace it this time, but be sure to get the person's name when you order." What?! Why is it my job to track who's taking my order? Isn't it their responsibility to ensure orders are accurate and to resolve issues professionally when mistakes happen? Needless to say, I haven't returned to this North Main location. Unfortunately, I've noticed similar unfriendly attitudes at other locations in las cruces. Not every employee is this bad, but it's clear that customer service is no longer a priority for Whataburger. The burgers are still decent - fries have been too salty to eat on multiple visits. By the way, visits during Mon-Fri 8-5 seem to have better luck with the staff and quality of food. 1/5 stars. read more

I thought I was walking in this Whataburger but when I asked the lady said it's been open for awhile. This restaurant was very clean inside and out. My wife and I both ordered a #1 combo with cheese ( cheeseburger fries and drink), and everything was great. We will both definitely return if we are in Las Cruces again. read more

Ordered online to speed up our morning. Do it all the time as we travel. Got there, no meal, waited 5 minutes or so. Went in to check and they said it was in the queue. 10 more minutes then asked the manager who was sitting in the dining area playing on his phone to check on it. Ordered on line to pick up in restaurant. Order was to be ready between 9:31am and 9:34am. Went into location at 9:31am and told them I was here for my order. I actually received my order at 9:44am 10 minutes after the promised time. In the time I waited inside I saw 1 person have their order taken and 2 different sets of people walk out because they waited too long. I also saw a employee who I believe to be management since she had on a button up shirt standing by the soda machine on her phone the entire time. The picture I posted was of the bacon biscuit we ordered that was supposed to have EXTRA bacon. This biscuit had sausage and these 2 little strips of bacon. If this is extra then there is a problem. Have been very sick, had surgery. Hadn't eaten for several days but for some reason couldn't get the idea of a Whataburger out of my mind. We dont go there much but it was the fantasy I couldnt shake. Last night I was finally able to eat and my daughter brought me the Whataburger I had been dreaming of. I must say, it was the single most incredible hamburger I have ever eaten. Huge burger. Soft buns, nicely cooked beef, lots of crisp bacon, melty cheese and loaded with fresh veggies. I love onion and my daughter told them to " go ham on the onions" and, bless them, they did. It was delicious and after several days fasting, and then post-surg sickness, I was stuffed full. Happily so. Wish I knew who prepared it because this ol broad would give em a hug and a tip. No shame here, but, I'm sending my daughter back for another one today. YOLO. I will never eat here again. I spent almost $40.00 there last night. I ordered 3 apple pies, was charged and paid for them, but never got them. When the store was notified so I could go pick them up, I was told they will not replace them because we have no solid proof they weren't in the bag. Contacted their corporate office, they did not offer a free meal, or get a full refund, they told me that they will refund the pies. The other two stores are not as bad, they are just extremely slow. Was driving through Las Cruces on a road trip, headed back home towards Texas, when we got really hungry and couldn't hold it off anymore so we stopped here to eat at 7pm. We ate inside, which I hardly ever do when I go to Whataburger, and I'm glad we did. It wasn't at all packed inside which made for a quick, peaceful dinner. The food was great, just a couple of number ones and some hot fries that had just been made. What made this Whataburger special though was just how friendly the staff was. They welcomed us as soon as we walked in. The cashier was really nice and made sure we were doing well. I felt like I was eating at a fine dining establishment. To clarify, the food is just like any other whataburger. It's good, filling and affordable. The staff was just reaaally nice here. I've always wanted to try Whataburger when I would go on road trips outside of California. But everytime I saw one, I just had eaten at a Cracker Barrel or something else. This last time however driving from El Paso we decided to stop at WHATABURGER around 9 in the morning to try it. Mind you, hamburgers are one of my favorite all time items. I LOVED them. It reminded me of the hamburgers they used to serve at Little League games. That thousand island style dressing. Still a great place to stop by after work. I got out at 11:30 pm and there was quite a few cars in the drive thru. I did end up waiting 20 minutes in the drive tru for my food and the fries overcooked and my burger came with no bacon. But the lemon pie was amazing and my dr.pepper shake was so good I'm thinking about going to get me one today. I still very much like this location because I've never had my order wrong or any problems. I had their guacamole bacon burger thing on Texas toast. Not bad but the guacamole and the sauce made it really messy and they did not give me any napkins. The side of onion rings was three large onion rings and tiny scraps. An hour after I ate I became very sluggish and had to lay down. This happened the last time I had Whataburger food two years ago. For being a fast food place it is better than what one would expect. The burgers aren't as good as a reputable full service restaurant, but they are better than other fast food burger places. The burgers taste a little fresher than most fast food places. Otherwise the restaurant is clean and orders are processed fast. The staff have always been friendly when I stop by. I usually never review Corporate Fast Food. Why? They get tons of air and ink. Do they really need a little guy like me to talk about the food, especially when an ad come on after the evening news? Not really.....but!! That's why we have Yelp. I had always been hearing about how this place beats SoCal burger places. The GF's Brother lives in Texas and raves about it. How much different (or do I dare say better?) can it be? Knowing we were going to be in Whataburger territory, I had to at least try it. Well......It was no better then any other junk place. Do these guys get their ingredients at the same place?? It tasted the same as any Whopper, Quarter Pounder, Jumbo Jack or any other place like that. The funny part, I even got the same rock in the stomach. The GF was fearful of Whatagas, but nope, Whatarock Whatarelief for her!! I did get sticker shock when all I ordered was a burger combo and an extra drink for the GF; all for $10.00. Has everything you want in a fast food chain: burgers, chicken, fries, soda, etc. They take the 'Whata' part a lil far, farther than McDonalds takes the "Mc". This Whataburger is always fun because it keeps you on your toes. It's kind of like one of those hipster bars where they ask "what's your poison?" and make up a drink based on that. Sure, you ordered a 5-piece chicken basket, but we think you could lose a few. Here's three pieces instead. Onion rings? No sir, today you feel like having fries. Unless you wanted fries - in that case, enjoy your onion rings. The other thing I really love about this Whataburger is how it makes you slow down to enjoy your day. Most fast food restaurants, for some odd reason, make food that is fast, but not here. After you make your order, you pull off to the side and contemplate your day for about 15-20 minutes while they make up your surprise order.
