I'm giving 4 stars solely because of one person that was taking my order outside, his name is Darren and he is so incredibly kind!! He smiles and he has a friendly tone of voice and that stands out to me. Everyone else has such a bad attitude and you can feel that they don't like their job, it's really uncomfortable and unpleasant to interact with people here. Normally, I wait on average 15 minutes to get my food but today, my order came out quicker (in 5 minutes) I have wanted to leave a 1 star review for quite some time because every time I am here it's an awful experience and my food is always wrong or missing. My wife and I were visiting Texas and had never tried Whataburger, so we decided to stop. Based on all I have heard, I had really high expectations. My wife and I split a Whatachicken sandwich, the Jalapeno and Cheese Whataburger and an order of fries. Total for the order was $12.59 was extremely reasonable. Upon entering, I was the only person waiting to order, and I still waited for a moment or two before somebody came to take my order. Once ordering, I waited for about 5-10 minutes to get my food. It wasn't busy, so at least I know that my food was made to order. But it did seem to take a while longer than I would have expected... The employee that brought our food was friendly and attentive, asking us if we needed anything, and (once he found out we were tourists), he was hoping that we were enjoying our trip. As for the food, the whatachicken was nice and juicy, flavorful, and a fairly good sized sandwich. The jalapeno and cheese whataburger was awesome. Spicy, cheesy and delicious. One thing that sets Whataburger apart is the width of the sandwiches. The buns and patties are wider to allow for more toppings to be added without having the patty slide out of the buns. Overall, it met expectations and I will be stopping by and grabbing Whataburger whenever I drive by one. read more

If I could leave no stars, I would. I understand it can get busy, however the obviously bothered female that worked the drive thru was disgustingly rude. I asked if I could complete two separate orders, and verbatim she replied "UHHH NO, THE LINE IS TOO LONG" At first I thought this was a joke, but she was not kidding. She was rude and short and unpleasant. This location is also known to mess up orders frequently. Not worth it. This is the most disappointing Whataburger in Texas. There is no consistency with anything. Food is made incorrectly 90% of the time. If you order delivery, you will likely receive the wrong item, or if you are like me, the wrong order completely. Then if you get another order created, it's made wrong. The ONLY way to get food made correctly and receive it somewhat warm, is to walk in and order it from the counter. This location is in desperate need of new management that actually cares about quality so they can help their team improve. They may even need an actual quality control person when things are made. Drove up to an empty driv-thru this morning and sat for 10 minutes. Two cars went through the first one before a lady rolled down her window and said she sat there for 10 minutes before she drove around. Called the number and said we were waiting in the second line. The response, "someone ran over our cone it's closed." No apology for making us wait just "someone ran over our cone." When I said there were people in line she said, "if you want food come to line one." If this is how they handle customers I'm sure their food prep skills are just as bad. I literally had to take a breath before composing this piece. Whataburger -- like the Alamo, cowboy boots, and the armadillo -- is synonymous with Texas. Nearly every city and town in the Lone Star State has at least one. I live about five minutes from the La Marque restaurant. Let's get the positives out of the way. This Whataburger gets good marks for food, location, and sentimental value (see second paragraph above). And now, the cold, hard truth. I hate this location because it's a bit unsanitary. Something is wrong when you see a fly buzzing around while you're eating. Also, you have to wait an eternity to get your food even if you're the only customer. Simply put, "fast food" doesn't apply. Lastly, and though it's not the eatery's fault, but the ratchet is strong here. I'm not giving up on this Whataburger, though. It's like that one cousin who gets on your nerves but has your back no matter what. read more

Keep driving and save your time ordering somewhere else. I've had good experiences here before, but I unfortunately had the same experience other reviewers have mentioned about a ridiculous wait time for food. We went through the drive-thru on an early Saturday evening with an average line. They averaged between 5-10 minutes per vehicle on wait time at the front window to pay and receive their food. The best we can figure is that they were short staffed and were literally cooking one order at a time. In total we waited thirty minutes from start to finish for the drive-thru, which is simply unacceptable for a fast food set up. They have their second drive-thru line always blocked so it's never used as well. I'm not sure if this is a management issue or an employee problem, but it is unacceptable. Given the crowd they likely get through the summer months, I can't imagine how long the line would be with an actual crowd. Skip this one and stop at Exit 20 instead for more options and faster service. read more
